Man the dishonorable music is so much better, I can't be stopped is badass and the actual fight music is way more surreal and has so much more character, i found the other music good but not as good as this ending
@@Lucifer_Summons I like the honorable ending more mainly because it's the canon ending of the game and Arthur got to die the way he wanted to, which was on top of a cliff watching the Sun rise. Plus the dishonorable, as badass as it is, goes against Arthur's whole philosophy of, "Vengeance is a fool's game", cause he's going back to get revenge on Micah.
@@synical_zero0003 I like this ending as it gives John more credit too as he runs off as his own man (which works with rdr1's story of the gang abandoning him) fighting his way out and it gives Arthur the chance to do something he always deemed as a fools game as there was no consequences to him getting revenge now so it couldn't come back to bite him. I know the high honer help john is cannon but this ending shows Arthur's wrath and its a look into how the game might have actually ended if rdr1 didn't exist, if you think about it he would have definitely killed Micah had Johns storyline in rdr1 not existed. I just personally find high honer money ending to be incredibly satisfying and feeds my own ego a bit from slicing up Micah (Micah is also one of my favorite characters too purely from being a fantastic villain) to put it short I believe Arthur deserved a showdown of his own against Micah and thats what the money ending entails.
This is the last of Arthur’s hate. All of the pain and anguish the others went through...it’s feeding him. Pushing him to the camp. He wasn’t going for the money. He wanted Micah.
Usually when I hear the loss of honor chime I feel bad or guilty. This is a rare time where it feels extremely badass, but in a good way. Yea, I'm going out dishonorably but rarely is there honor in vengeance. This was a vengeance move on Arthur's behalf and is much of an impactful ending than the "main" ending
Hey I'm late but I wanna say, as much as I prefer the help John, this ending still make sense.. Arthur just fucking snaps at this point and he wanted to take all that hate out on Micah.. Plus if you look at it, revenge has always been a protagonist's downfall... John went for revenge and it cost him his life, same as Arthur in this ending.
@@melvinbigsmokeharris7640 considering that micah always has a cut eye after john kills him implies that good honor going back for the money is the canon ending and the fact that i like about this ending is that Arthur killed all the pinkertons that ambushed the camp earlier while also giving micah a scar.
@@SouthpawGaming112 the best ending would be if you got to cough in Micah's mouth and when John finds him on the mountain you get to choose to let his sickness kill him or end him yourself
I’m in love with the atmosphere, the music and the satisfaction in cutting Micah’s eye with this ending. Everyone chooses John but everyone knows he’s okay. I think choosing this ending fits the theme of revenge and redemption much better.
I feel like maybe more people would have chosen this path if the possibilities were "go after micah" and "help john". Because at the end of the game, Arthur is dying, that much is made very clear, so it feels kinda pointless going after the money, he won't be able to spend it since he'll die of tuberculosis probably mere days after. But going after Micah, would have been hella tempting... On the other hand, it would mean erasing Micah from the ending where you help John, maybe changing him with Ross, since he's John's arch nemesis in RDR1 and we know for sure he has to survive RDR2. It would still make the epilogue hold, because John would still have reasons to go after Micah, if only because he betrayed the gang and tore it apart.
Sidegrabsheriff maybe the ending for the dlc would be when you feel satisfied for beating up Micah you get the green mask from the fence from saint denis the go t the rdr1 map as zombie authur and stop the zombie dlc
It wasn't about the money it was about fucking up micah let's be real here. He lived as Honorable as he could before he died but i think he finally gave into his rage. The money's just a convenient excuse and another way to stick it to Dutch Arthur didnt really want the money he wouldn't live long enough to spend it.
Tbh it was both, he wanted the money and he wanted to kill Micah before he passed away. And also one of Arthur's dialogue lines in this fight is, "That money's mine!!!", he doesn't say it in this video, but in my playthrough he did.
@@synical_zero0003 He says that only if u go for the money with low honor. It really shows that Arthur, at the point of going for the money and having low honor, really does let his own greed take him over. Meanwhile high honor Arthur cares about avenging the people Micah screwed over and getting his vengeance.
@@thehighground2014 high honor helping john - Redemption Low honor helping john - Guilt High honor go back for money - Justice and vegeance Low honor go back for money - Greed
3:15 ''I've been waiting to kill you, Micah!'' You can really hear in his voice that all he really wants to do before he goes, is to kill the man that destroyed his entire life.
@@Tavemanic tb can be dormant for an incredibly long time. micahs manipulation of dutch advertently lead to Arthur getting beaten horribly, maimed, and near killed, which was what kicked his TB in.
The way Arthur screams "Him! " at Dutch is just full of rage. I love this ending: the badass hill fighting, badass knife duel and badass Arthur dialogue. I also love his final moments, Arthur turns and sits to see the sun rise amidst the trees one last time and finally lets it go...
This is the best ending imo. It’s the best of both worlds. You still get the high honour with Arthur dying on his own terms, but you also get the badass ending
I did help John on my first two playthroughs but when I finally did this one... holy shit. I thought that the sunrise ending was the best one but running down the hills with this song playing was the best moment I’ve had in any video game.
The only other time a game's made me feel the way RDR1 and 2 did, was when I was playing Max Payne 3 and I got to the airport level. This was the first time I was pretty much screaming "LET'S F*CKING GOOO" on the inside XD.
I think this ending shows the most love for Arthur in terms of Dutch. He looks like he doesn’t even believe Michah as much as he did in the other ending. I like to think Dutch was also coming back for the money, and decides that it’s ultimately not worth it after everything it cost. Seems less coincidental then Dutch just finding Micah and Arthur on a random mountain
the mountain is a cool visual but really nonsensical. like micah put aside the money which was his entire motive just so he could follow arthur up a mountain to fist fight him (and he just forgot his weapons i guess)
@@Garland846 plus during the fight arthur couldve literally thrown micah off the mountain at any time (like when u grab and throw someone) but the game does not let that happen lmao
@@ayhamshaheed7740 Yeah. At worst, he could have just mustered all his strength to at least make Micah jump off with him too. The way the other ending is written is great and all, but like you said, Micah and Dutch just randomly being on the mountain and not fighting for the money is a bit too random.
I always liked to think that- Arthur was always a bad man, but in his final weeks, he tried to make something of himself, and become a better man. But when the choice mattered most, he let old habits die hard, and went for the Money. Not for himself though... That'd be the difference between Good, and Bad Arthur, in the Return for the Money ending. High Honor Arthur is there for Micah, and to get the Money to John. To give them something he never could in any other situation, and to- atleast redeem himself in the aspect of his Gang's failures, not his own- he would never be able to redeem that. That, and you slash Micah's eye, so it's a win.
The way I see it. Both endings are right for Arthur. I’ve always helped John but I’m on my 5th play through and I’m leaning towards “going back for the money.” I think this is Arthur’s warrior death whereas on the mountain it’s more of a fairy tell ending (kinda.) Arthur is still helping John in his mind because he’s giving the money to him and his family. He also gives Micah something to remember him by with a kife to the eye.
I like that going back for the money can also be interpreted as staying behind to buy John more time to escape. The Pinkertons have to go through you to get to him
This ending was never about Arthur going for money, he was gonna give the money to John if he had made it but he knew he wasnt, he just used the money as an excuse to John because he wanted to go back for revenge
I got this “special ending” and thought it was the worst ending. I don’t know why I went for the money, it wasn’t for Arthur it was for John, I swear! I’m a good person ☹️
I did to. Lucky i saved just before starting this mission so i could try different choices. I think the secret one or the best one is him passing on peacefully
I love that going back for the money isn't for the money and not just for revenge but Arthur new he would bring the law with him and jhon would make it out alive and he did it for jhon
this ending makes much more sense then the other we love. Here is Dutch in remorse, Arthur not dying from exaustion and John is less pulled to Arthur in rdr 1 because he choose for the money. Arthur dying on camp grounds as the last reasonable member of the gang shows that everything good must come to an end.
@GhostRider2255 actually, if you take the real world inflation into account it would be 1,410,241 and 40 cents in 2021. The precious metals, if there is any stashed could make it a lot more, but I think the game calculates that into the total.
I went with john for the ending I got, but i gotta say rockstar hits ya in the feels with Arthur's death like this here he has pretty much nothing left to live for begging micah to kill him and he's already at death's door
i love this ending. i always liked angry moody pissed off arthur but never liked the fact that Arthur would be killed by Micha. and you can see Arthur bottle up everything he wants to say to Dutch and Micha in chapter 6. so he finally gets the chance to let it all out and go absolutely nuts slaughtering his way through every through dozens of pinkertons and finally telling dutch what he has done. *chefs kiss*
I had high honour and died on the mountain but, I'm starting to wish I went with this option. It also doesn't really make sense canonically, as I can't imagine a realistic reason why Micah and Dutch would chase after Arthur and John in amidst all the chaos of the Pinkertons
The best endings: GTA IV: Revenge GTA V: Option C - Deathwish (save Michael and Trevor and kill Stretch, Steve Haines, Wei Cheng, Devin Weston) RDR2: Help John for escaping safely with High Honor
if only there was an ending where you had the choice to go with dutch and micah if they weren’t idiots. i wish there was an option to leave micah in jail too
If the option had been "Go Back For Micah" so many more people would've picked this ending I still just wish there had been an option for "Confront Dutch"
On my low honour save I was going to help John because I wanted to see what happens during that cutscene on low honour (I know now) but I went back for the money because I remembered how badass the music and Arthur was in this ending.
Doctor Barnes told Arthur to avoid areas with high humidity and get somewhere warm and dry. But Guarma had high heat and humidity which made Arthur's TB even worse
Aurther - Dutch Micah come and get me you fools --- Aurther becomes logan man i took the right choice by helping john instead of the money this shit made me cry .....badass aurther morgan
I dont know if it is but it feels like when you go for the money Arthur's stats are increased and his guns do more damage. But they all go down so fast during that whole segment
They really shoulda allowed you to atleast kill micah in this version of the ending before passing away yourself. He just goes after him with so much anger and determination to kill him; it’s a shame he doesnt.
I think this ending is tue most poetic one, or whatever its called. Arthur dies a peaceful death, not caring as the world around him is burning to the ground
I like to think of this at least from my pov not going for money nor revenge but arthur making his last stand to give john time to get out which he does anyway this one is just more badass
As much as i think the flee ending is cannon..this one also makes sense in a way... Arther is not just going back for the Money but to also try to take out Micah and to stop the pinkertons from chasing after john and giveing him a chance to escape...well some of them anyway seeing as we do not know how many showed up... which is probably a lot
Idc but this is the canon ending for me, makes more sense for John not to speak about Arthur so much, Arthur is his own person, he got his own death, it's not about the money, not at all, it's a last stand from a man that's got nothing to lose anymore, he redeemed himself already at this point, this is his last fight against the people who took away everything from him, he gave his life and his opportunity to run away and be happy to a snake that betrayed him, at this point, he was a good honored boy for way too long now. You started the journey of an outlaw, sorrounded by the snow, to finish the story of a good man, sorrounded by the fire.
I just realized the background beat is Arthur's heart as he over exerts himself and quickens his death from the tuberculosis. Specifically around 4:05 its like the damage is already done and he can only hope to not die in the next 10 minutes.
