In this video I discuss how I setup my primary go-to rifle for home defense, SHTF, or taking training classes. It is based on the Daniel Defense DDM4V5 (discontinued) which is similar to the upgraded M-LOK version DDM4V7 (rifle I would get today). My back up is a MK18 pistol by Daniel Defense with the Law Tactical folding Shockwave brace by KAK Industry which can easily fit into a small bag for storage. The magpul link also allows me to quickly change the type of ammunition I am using based on the application.

If you don't already have CCW insurance, consider joining USCCA with a special offer through We Run Guns here usccapartners.com/werunguns to get started. This link provides you with EXTRA PERKS, BONUSES or DISCOUNTS for joining and a small portion goes towards supporting the channel at NO ADDITIONAL COST to you. I'm personally a paying member and joined USCCA because I believe it's a great service should you EVER be in a self-defense scenario. You'll get access to a criminal defense attorney 24/7, 365 days a year, bail covered, and criminal/civil defense costs covered up to the amount you choose when you sign up. In addition to legal protection across all 50 states/ US territories, you'll get access to training resources, legal education, and a reciprocity map with state specific gun laws. Personally, the best part I like about USCCA is that you can choose your own attorney (unlike competitors) to ensure a high quality defense should you need it.

Always great to see your setups. I set up my TAVOR with a light on the right side factory mount, trigger spring removal and a new butt pad for a better fit. At midnight last night I heard my chickens going crazy so I grabbed the closest rifle 😉 the TAVOR and found a racoon bigger then my Jack Russell at the coup. He jumped to a tree and up, shining the tree I get two eyes reflecting back and took the shot. It was 60 yards away and I got him between the eyes, clean kill. I'd say the TAVOR is pretty accurate 👍 HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND Your friend in OREGON 🤠

I have the same exact sling. To rid the extra slack, and make sure it is secure as hell, I went back through the glides.

Nice! My planned set up in the future when I can own a gun here in CA… 1. AR-10 in .308. 2. AR-15 in 5.56. 3. Glock 19 or Glock 23 (if I can handle 40 cal) with a CAA MCK. 4. Springfield XD 9 Subcompact

Nice setup. I dig the quad rail too. Love that you set it up for reliability, and the two ammo configurations is a great move.

Sleek MLOK rails are in, but picatinny rails are more durable! It boils down to what someone wants for their needs. The DD M4A1 and MK-18 RIS II rails are very well likely the most bombproof rails on the market - even over the current Geissele SOCOM offering. Granted, they are not as ergonomic or sleek looking, but those looking to build that “if I could only have one AR,” would be wise to look hard at the RIS II or something similar. Having said that, I keep two M4V5s in my hot safe along with an 11.5 AR pistol. I have a Geissele Super Duty and other cool guy ARs, but my “if I could only have one AR” is a M4A1. As far as lights are concerned, Cloud Defensive REIN is it. Only paid shills are pushing Surefire (and other contemporary products) but Surefire served me well during my time abroad when they were king. The REIN is a beast and have a home on my ARs including the 11.5 pistol. Along w all other attributes, a light can be a final deterrent against a threat especially if their flashed w the sun at close distance! The one “con” is somewhat minor. I’m use to using 123 batteries, but getting use to managing rechargeables. For true power out situations, I have solar generators to help me keep batteries charged. At the end of the day, get and use what works best for “you.” However, there are occasions where we need to tell our buddies to stop using some products, such as a three-point sling. They were re’arded then, and more so nowadays, lol. Stay safe, and get those guns out and train. BTW, IMI 77gr. OTM load is a superb performer out of the M4V5. It’s a hot load and for me, a 1 MOA performer. With my Troy HK style folding BUIS, I can squeeze 1.5 MOA at 100yds. I’m sure those who shoot better than me can achieve better results. The Geissele SSF and SSA triggers are phenomenal!

Good stuff. Just some friendly advice re: the cat tourniquet.. seconds matter when saving a life or your own.. the time strap should not be over both windless clips it should just be on the side it's originally on and just a little bit sticking out so you can easily pull it off when you have successfully applied the TQ to the patient. If not done under stress you'll forget or you'll be fiddling around trying to take it off attempting to save someones life. It's a big time sink & it can be the difference between life and death. Cheers.

Have you considered Magpul's B.A.D. Lever? I find is to be so useful that all of my rifles have one. The advantages are being able to maintain your master grip while locking the bolt back and slightly faster mag changes. Some people have expressed concern that a finger slip while actuating the level could cause an accidental trigger pull. The proper way of actuating the lever is to apply downward force (rather than toward the trigger) while keeping your finger fully extended and outside of the trigger guard. There is no risk of accidentally pulling the trigger when done correctly. The risk comes with a bent finger which causes the force that you apply to the level to be pointed more towards the trigger. A training issue

Very nice bro! The quad rail may be considered dated but it's extremely practical and that's what matters. Especially for this purpose 😊👊👊👊🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

Thanks brother! Although I considered changing it, there is a reason Daniel Defense still sells their rails now. They are tough as hell and practical in the end. If a few extra ounces is too much for me then I need to hit the gym.

If you're going to leave your mags full, fun them at 20 or maybe 25 rounds, or when it comes to needing it you may find your mags don't feed reliably
@werunguns
@werunguns 3 года назад
With quality mags? Which mags are known to be unreliable when at capacity? I’ve only heard of people loading 2 rounds less
@doomfathertm8771
@doomfathertm8771 3 года назад
@@werunguns Even top quality mags, even the best springs have to obey the laws of physics to some degree. People may leave a mag at full capacity for years, the chances of a malfunction are then increased a lot. Running the mag 2 rounds down is fine if you are going to keep on top of rotating your mags every few months but most people wont do that.

Do you not find your light to be way too bright when used indoors? I have to use a 300 lumens setting to avoid disturbing my night vision too significantly.

Good question. I like the D60 and have several, but this set up gives me the option to choose between two types of ammo, change mags for a malfunction and isn't too cumbersome. Traditional magazines are also known to be more reliable than drums and I need max reliability on this rifle.
