Loaf Pan size: 28cm (L) x 13cm (W) x 7cm (H)
1 cup = 250 ml; Tbsp. = Tablespoon = 15 ml; tsp. = teaspoon = 5 ml
Ingredients:
4 cups Grated Coconut
250g Palm Jaggery
1 cup Rice Flour
3 pinches Salt
6 Cashew Nuts
½ tsp. Cardamom Powder
Makes: 820g
Preparation Time: 60 mins (Cooling Time: 4 hrs)

Eyes closed, Dodol evokes the goodness of our sensory thoughts and plays along on natures vistas, a true blue proud goan dessert. Am i glad to see it with my eyes open. Little compares with a creation which one sees come to life with a smile playing on your lips and warm nostalgia adding to its beauty. I love dodol T-shirts should be sold in the flea markets of baga ....alongwith your channel flying the culinary flag high.... Why do I get the feeling that the best is happening and yet the bestest is yet to come. Little by little ( or is it only me ) your videos get slicker n better.....Thank you for the effort. Viva Goa

Madam it an excellent and classic receipe. My Mum and Aunt used it with coconut husk . It was a tedious job and with a long and heavy wooden spoon. I always thought whether I could do it. my family love to eat dodol and dodol melaka original . Malaysia and Singapore we make Dodol for festival .Dodol can add durian or without ,but we don't add nuts.

This looks really nice. One question though. Could i make this recipe using tapioca flour instead of rice flour? I know the consistency would be different but do you think it could work?

Fatimaji, thanks for nice sweet. This sweet is younger brother of famous sweet "kinnatapu"from Malbar of Kerala. I had visited Kerala in Feb 1992 at my friend home, Eddkad village of Cannore. That time my friend's mother had prepared kinntapu with milk of 14coconuts. Imagine, it was cooked in large vessel with jaggary and small amount of rice powder. It took 3hrs. It was amazing. Hi Fatima, I tried making this today, and the Goan Black jaggery is not available where I am, but I will keep looking to find it. So I used Black Strap Mollases with Powered Coconut Palm Sugar instead of the Black rock hard Palm sugar. Came out good. I used Canned Coconut Cream and coconut milk together. Will try fresh coconut milk when I have enough courage to make it again. When you make it, the final cutting of the Dodol, it looks like Black Cheese. lol. PS: I am in San Jose CA. I am originally from Chinchinim Salcete. Regards from far away. Raymond
