Fighter did survived after being used up by those goblins, but she is never the same ever again. But in the manga the lore did say that the goblins do keep using women no matter their age until they're of no use other than food. Basically very barbaric that it makes barbarians more civilized. The anime does really fit the definition of "Survival of the Fittest" in terms of how hard the Goblin Slayer fights against goblins and how hard humans and other races are fighting for survival and to continue existing.
I remember when this anime came out, I hadn't watched anime for about 2 years. Of all the anime available at the time, Goblin Slayer was apparently the first anime I chose to watch after that hiatus. It left quite a strong impression for sure.
I always wanted to watch the anime but I was too scared the "untasteful" scenes would bring too many bad memories back, and while the recap was hard to watch I sincerely sympathise with the goblin slayer's goal and this was cathartic in a way I didn't expect. You're probably the only recap youtuber I can watch a recap on goblin slayer, I really hope you can make a recap on season 2 (no pressures though) thank you for your videos mate, they're always great and really conveys the message and emotion of the anime every time, you really are doing an awesome job with them
Here is a funny fact dealing with never saying a name. In the show Samurai Jack they never actually say his name they just refer to him as Samurai Jack. Ok a little context when the show was made the term Samurai meant anyone using a blade generally but not always of Japanese style basically saying someone with a sword and the word Jack meant a random dude. The actual term of Jack is translated in talk as a random dude. To put it bluntly when people sent back word to Aku what they said about who kept destroying his armies was A Random Dude With A Sword. His actual name was never stated ever. Aku died without ever knowing who kept destroying his armies and who killed him and all he know about the person who killed him was that it was a random dude with a sword. Random teens who hated the government refused to even ask his name and literally just started saying Jack which meant random Dude. Hell the reason that the Scotsman had so much trouble was he also technically was a random dude with a sword.
Being one of the first more serious anime i ever watched, it holds a special place in my heart, and so does The Rising of the Shield Hero, but they both have something in common, after the first season they just fall of, like really fall off. The animation was still the same for season 2 of both of these anime but it just didnt feel right, like it has lost its character. the whole thing they were building for the whole first season just crumbled. So if anyone wants to watch season 2 of either of these anime just know that even if you dont, you wont miss anything. in rising of the shield hero season 2 i got tired in the middle of it. I basically forced myself because of how much I loved the first season, and now the same thing is starting to happen with goblin slayer, its a bit sad.
