The Bible has so much crazy and interesting stuff in it when you stop viewing it through the lens of modern religion and let its authors demonstrate their own imagination and worldview. Hamori's book is also a great read - full of playful comparisons from movies and pop culture - and she doesn't pull her punches when talking about some of the less pleasant material in the Bible. It was fun working on this project with you, Derek.
"Not despite their loyalty to God, but because of it" That was a great line Derek! Very profound and a concept completely unnoticed by fundamentalist apologists! 🤘😎🤘
it may be hard for you to believe right now, but the day will come where you will see some of these creatures roaming the Earth, tormenting the unbelievers during the Tribulation. Of course, there is a way to avoid God's wrath.
@@jameshall1300 I'm not waiting for anything... I'm simply playing out my part in the grand plan that God ordained from the beginning of His creation. Just remember, you don't own your life because you don't own your body. 1 Corinthians 6:20 "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." Our mortal lives will end one day, so don't seek the ways of this fallen world... Matthew 6 19 "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:" 20 "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:" 21 "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
You were right, I did love this! As always, educational and entertaining. I thought at the end when you said about reading the Bible responsibly is great advice, and would also make a great tagline 😆
One thing I have not seen from myth vision is a video on the multiple times, god sells the Israelites into slavery because of their sins, and after the Israelites are chastised enough , gOd commits genocide to free the slaves. The people that did gOd a favor get murdered. This happened many times.
Yeah, almost like it's an account of how a historical people tried to rationalise the things that happened to them and the world around them through mythology and not the inspired word of God...🤪
Reasons I left Christianity #97: these biblical battles are very cinematic and all, but if God is omnipotent why does he need to do battle at all? Couldn't he just snap his fingers and his enemies would just disappear?
God is an eternal spirit... and His creation has freewill. You can choose death through your sin or eternal life through the blood of the lamb, Jesus Christ. God's sword is His word. Evil eventually consumes itself. Use the time God has given you to choose your side. (Ephesians 5:16 KJV)
There's an interview video... I'm almost certain it's a Mythvision one...that goes into this, actually. But essentially there's two parts: (and you probably already know this part) 1. Israelite theology isn't as rock solid as certain people would have you believe and was evolving; and 2. There were other competing myths of gods defeating monsters, so OF COURSE there had to be one for the Big Guy In The Sky to show His supremacy, too. It's the kind of thing that makes so much sense in allegory but not a lot literally.
Assyrian Lamassu is my favorite piece of Assurian arts, it does now decorate our walls at home,we also have lamassu as one of our favorite gold necklace. My gold Lamassu necklace was made in 1986 i still have it ❤❤❤
The danger of believing this stuff is that it affects your subconsciousness also. you have to stretch your imagination so far to make believe you believe it.
I recently read Hamori's book, I *strongly* recommend it. If I hadn't already deconstructed, I would have after this book. It is an absolute bombshell.
The Gospels Are LOADED With Fable, Myth, Legend, just like every other religion, the idea of free will and any objective purpose or sense of accomplishment in life.
Seems like everything that God has created. He has an issue with later on down the road. Seem's light to me. He doesn't have control over the things he has created
God always gives His creation the freewill to choose. If they go astray, He will strive with them, because He doesn't them to inherit death but eternal with Him.
An all powerful being that can creates a whole universe out of nonexistent matter gathered from nowhere needs henchmen and boat builders. The older he gets the more dependent on his creation he becomes.

Amazing video really showing what it's like to read the bible without the distorted lense of religious beliefs that man has built it up to be. This really explains why when christians actually read their bibles they will probably not believe anymore or at least start a road towards deconversion like I did.
At 7:18, what audio version of God's Monsters is this from? Edit: After watching more of the video, I realize that is just the Bible. But what audio version?
A good mythology has to have gods and monsters and this one is a doozy because the god is the biggest monster of them all. A temperamental sociopath with genocidal aspirations and a cruelty unmatched by any other character in the tale. A tale of world wide Stockholm Syndrome, mass killings, and sexual perversion this book has it all.
Yeah sure, but Where do the visuals come from… they just come from the brain due to a chemical reaction or are your eyes actually being used in spirit?🤔
That Satan is allowed temporary reign of this world age by God is not a controversial claim in Christianity. You either have to think that God is not powerful enough to stop Satan or that God allows Satan to do the things he does. This should not come as a shock to any Christian. Satan is one of the Elohim, and it seems that they all take turns being in charge of earth, most likely linked with the Zodiacal ages.
Wallis and Biglino go into the Elohim in depth on the "5th Kind" channel. Rather than the Elohim taking turns, they posit that dominion of the Earth has been divided up amongst the Elohim.....to each their area/tribe of responsibility. I'm not pushing their hypothesis, but they do make a strong, scholarly case for that type of arrangement.
Elohim is The Mighty one Archangel Micheal who fathers the Chrestus Titus author of All biblical scripture, Matthew 26 53 gives you author and Messiah and true Israelites, Israel was Gods name not a place.
John directly called yahweh the beast of revelation. See exodus 13:9 original Hebrew. They had to rewrite the text so they could properly appropriate the gnostic text revelation and John.
The selective breeding practices of antiquity never seem to be addressed -- surely farming cultures would've understood better than anyone how to produce creatures with particular traits?

No Paul thinks Satan is a humbling mechanism. It's to torment him, to treat him roughly is the exact translation, not hurt him. We think of torment like torture but that's not what the text says. And elsewhere he says being chastised by God is good that means he's teaching you and actually paying attention to you because he thinks your worthy to teach, according to Paul. So he doesn't believe God is just out to hurt people to hurt them, in his view pain is a teacher. I meeaann, after burning myself on the iron when I was little I was way more cognizant of the dangers around me with actually led to a safer life so I can't really disagree lol
Thank you very much for the work you do. I am not very happy, church free, and intune with divinity within. We are the Magic, not some external force in the sky.
The monsters that helped Solomon to build the temple and then haunted him with the help of the angels.....It seems that in order to be happy, a man needs to be free from these monsters. Maybe Analytical Psychology and Samurai Philosophy will help.
Hi. According to Revelation 9:11, there is one demon who 's going to be freed in the end times: “And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.” Also, it's interesting that in Ezekiel 28 starts as a prophecy against some earthy king, but if you read attentively, you'd realize it's talking about Lucifer. I encourage you to read it. Thanks
I caught that part but that does us no good when trying to prove it to Bible thumpers I want to use their doctrine against them not reach for a completely different translation of their doctrine
Major Eaton: Now what does this Ark look like? Indiana: Uh... there's a picture of it right here. [opens a book on the table] Indiana: That's it. [they all look at an illustration of the Hebrews devastating their enemy with the Ark] Major Eaton: Good God! Brody: Yes, that's just what the Hebrews thought. Colonel Musgrove: [pointing to a beam of light] Uh, now what's that supposed to be coming out of there? Indiana: Lightning. Fire. Power of God or something. Major Eaton: I'm beginning to understand Hitler's interest in this. Brody: Oh, yes. The Bible speaks of the Ark leveling mountains and laying waste to entire regions. An army which carries the Ark before it... is invincible.

Well seems like what we know as Satan has the approval of God, it seems like the original Hebrew authors wanted to instill the idea that some forces will try to test your faith to God, as part of Gods plan, but nowadays he just became the villain. It now sounds like a way to excuse the atrocities that are portrayed in the Bible by God, like "i didnt do it, the Satan did it" in the same way as some people plead demonic possession in court for a crime.
What did God say in Genesis 2 ? 16 "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:" 17 "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. What did Adam and Eve do?... they DISOBEYED God... this means man has no argument against what they have to face in their lives from that point onwards, since they are now in Satan's fallen world. But God in His grace, offers man a way out.
The book of Enoch goes into more detail regarding the Sons of God. The 200 Watchers who "left their first estate" (their assigned purpose) and were convinced by Satan to have children with Earthly women in an attempt to corrupt the DNA of man and stop the birth of our saviour, Jesus Christ. Remember what God said in Genesis 3 14 "And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:" 15 "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
The Word Satan comes from Sumerian Language SatAnu and it means overlooker, Sat=Hover, and Anu=Sky God. SatAnu! Where we get the word Satellite! Satanu=Watcher, Administrator, Boss. Enlil was the Satanu of Gan Edin, or Garden of Eden.
