3-ring binder of Lotus is peak flexing. Not because it's 18+ Lotus, but the risk of binder damage is triggering my latent OCD.

Rudy, It hurts to see the "million dollar binder" full of power with no sleeves.. I know they are ones that aren't worth grading but it's like putting 10 million scoville unit hotsauce on a $1 floppy taco, it's going to burn coming out.

I really wish more mtg collectors could think about collectors items like you. Purchases so be made to appreciate with you eyes, not appreciate in value. If more people thought this, then maybe abduals and other cards playable outside vintage and legacy would escape the reserve list. High-end EDH has truly become brutally expensive.

Man you got em in a 3 ring?? Please use another binder man. There is massive potential for damage on those cards. I damaged my own cards from these type of binders.I get your super careful with those but anything can happen. The no rings have so much less potential for something to happen.

I had a very long conversation yesterday almost the same Rudy is saying, I sat down to purchase a decent sized collection from a person and I told him what he has is more than I was prepared for but I opened strong made decent offers and we agreed to it, I told them that this is going to be a deal that takes weeks to work through and as I can imagine making offers most of it is going to my personal collection and I don’t mind paying up for it, but also there’s things I want to take and sell, which I am fair with those offers as well but as I told them, there’s a chance he sells everything today and tomorrow it’s worth Penny’s last time I was buying duals I was paying less than 130 mid, but yea I am stoked that I was able to meet up with them and get things rolling.

I remember trading for a personal incarnate for a black lotus when I was 10 years old. I convinced the other guy that 6/6 ins stats is better than a mana card.

I loved your commentary on this video. It's the same type of thinking that I try to employ when looking to add to my small collection. I believe passion is one of those things that can be easily overlooked in a world where plenty of people are looking to get rich on the next new thing in our society.

I don't agree with the grade on that card at all it looks perfectly centered especially for a lotus, the corners are mint, the edges are mint, the face/surface the side that matters looks pretty damn mint and clean!. this card should be a 10,10,10,9.5 which would make the grade a 10... also for some reason psa cards are more then double the value then Beckett and id bet psa would grade this lotus a 10 since they don't grade the back of the cards harshly at all! also you can use a dehumidifier to remove the small imperfections that are on the back of the card if you really wanted them gone.

Maybe a tip for the people with not alot of money like our king here: You can do this for bulk cards aswell. I like pokemon, i also like psyducks so i bought some aquapolis psyducks for a couple of bucks a while ago and other low supply cards with leftover money. The psyducks are selling for 15$ now. Its not much but imagine you bought a couple when they where .50/$1, it all adds up in the long run. Lots of examples i can give.

funny story, I actually picked magic. I saw it online as a f2p game and said screw it ill try it. After years of bullying kids about it, I finally understood what was so magical about it.

Personally i collect modern up to 2014 before the border change. The full color border mid era cards are easily the best looking, the most balanced, and stil very accessible. You can collect, for example, 8th edition foils Iike birds of paradise

I can remember going into a card shop around '94 or '95 and seeing a Black Lotus in the case for $80! At the time, I thought it was crazy to spend that much for a card.

EPIC binder. I played MTG back in the day. I remember playing a black/red dragon reanimation deck in type 1 that I put together for like $300. It never won anything but it was somewhat competitive with the insane type 1 decks of the era.

If you’re in this for money, get into real estate. There is no reason to “invest” in such a volatile type of investment when guaranteed ones exist. You are absolutely right, you have to enjoy it. The “reason” vintage magic has value is because a very small amount of people enjoy it and are willing to spend a lot of money on it.

TL;DR: I have millions of dollars in a binder of old magic cards because I enjoy old magic cards. If you do it for the money, you'll get burned eventually, so don't come crying about it to me. If you enjoy it, maybe you get money, maybe you don't, but for sure you'll enjoy it.

I only have 1 Unlimited Lotus! Also a BGS 9. Was shocked when it came back as a 9, as I bought it as LP.

As a player since 2011, I've traded into many rl and old cards. I like them, I double sleve them and play them in decks. I love the game, and don't care if cards remain flat or even make a loss, because I sell non rl pieces into spikes and use that money for old or rl pieces, so it doesn't matter.

I remember Black Lotus being $300 when I was a kid wishing I could afford one. No I'm an adult, and I still wish I could afford one. LOL. 😥

Rudy, can you please do a video regarding counterfeit graded cards being sold on ebay? Myself and others have witnessed them recently and i have personally reported the listings as counterfeit only to have ebay determine that the listing "doesnt violate their rules"
