*Have I ever helped you make a purchasing decision or enlightened you on an awesome new game you enjoy?* Fan donations greatly help me keep this all going. THANK YOU! www.patreon.com/Boomstickgaming I had to re upload this one too fix a few things in the video. Thanks for checking this out the first or second time :p
Great video! Might have added the fact that Custom bullets now have a ammo limit since this was't in the earlier games(maybe they added it to prevent cheese in Assault missions?) and greatly changes if u use them at all.
The amount of play-style customization in this game is what really lets it stand out on its own from Monster Hunter. I love both games. I hope there are more people who like both instead of just one over the other.
I'm a Monster Hunter nut and i've been pleasantly surprised with this game. At first I thought it was just an "arcadey Monster Hunter" but the more I played it the more I realised I was thoroughly enjoying myself. The agility of your GE, the speed of combat and the wealth of customisation options (akin to Hunter Arts) makes it stand out in a big way!
Most MH fans I know generally loves playing GE too. Especially since MH has gone to handhelds for such a long time, that GE was the closest thing to scratch that "hunters itch" for years for console and PC players. Currently juggling this and MH:World.
I have no idea if you'll see this since your comment is a year old, but how do you do a "burst shot"? I've seen something about Burst Shot on the right side of the screen I think, but I never figured out what it was. If it can get me to lvl 3 burst I'll need to start using it
@@osutinheizu8250 While locked-on to your ally, shoot the burst bullet at them with R1/RB. Then, press Triangle/Y. This will activate a Link Burst. Do it 3 times to get level 3.
@@Vivi_Strike how do you "link" the effect ? I can see the option on the right but it's red and unusable . Should you stack the same stuff to hit harder ? Multi elements bullets worth it or not ? Can you use lazer with status effects bullets ? Nothing is explained and there's no tutorial in game or online... sorry i'm a noob ;))
@@marc-ap4699 It took me many hours to figure it out, but if it's on the computer. all you have to do is click the right arrow on the arrow keys. And it will link with the bullet which is above it.
Great tips! I discovered all of these because I'm a seasoned player but those newcomers/younger crowd will definitely benefit from this video! They actually made it simpler with all those items and healing ground spots during the mission. The dive also helps a lot. I have to be honest, I didn't know about the timed dive being a counter hitter!
Yea to bad they nerfed the bullet edit heavily and most of those bullets cannot be created and even if some could you canno only carry a small amount so that sucks. They didnt need to nerf it this hard. This isnt even a pvp game why nerf it this hard?
@@natchu96 still they did not need to nerf them this hard to be practicaly usless. It was one of the features that made this game unique and now they fucked it up. Also the online didnt last long before it died anyway so realy what was the point of nerfing them so hard. I think a small nerf was all it needed not what they did, a simple lowering in damage output would have suffice at least that way the creativity of the bullet would still be intact and they wouldnt be so OP
You should also mention that getting different engage effects can be done through assault missions, since the whole idea of assault missions can be pretty daunting even at end game. You get plenty of engage effects just by playing with other people. But still, great video. I knew all of these because I'm a vet from the previous games but it's great for those just getting in to the series.
You can also do Assault Missions offline and still gain Engage effects from the AI. That is what how I did it when I had no internet for a few days. =)
I only cared to take a look at some ingame starter hints after I had unlocked rank 7 missions and only then realized that there was a Dive move... felt kinda stupid tbh xD.. (I mean I eyeballed the tips quickly at the start but this particular tip didnt register immediately) Now I use it all the time, almost too much whenever mosnter twitches away just a little bit I follow him using dive... its a GREAT ability.
Here’s a tip I learned, it’s better to shield than take the chance to dodge. Sacrificing a small amt of stamina and health is much better than losing half of your hp in rank 7 missions :)
Depends on your skillset. My character fitted out with dodge skills and auto guard can escape those unblockable devour attacks rather reliably, and still protect when I can't manage a dodge.
The auto guard is for normal attacks in the event a dodge fails. I just always dodge, which means I never have to worry about whether I should block or dodge against those guys.
Knew all of this but not where to find the training room. Literally ran up and down stairs Chrysantum (sp?) to the point I just had to lab new God Arts on story missions. This saves so much time. Thanks for pointing that out. There's more to combat system since its a little overwhelming but it seems like you already covered it so I'll watch more of your videos to familiarize myself with them. The Terminal is clearly not enough to get through this without trial and error.
You should have mentioned combo resetting, that air devours reset your attacks so essentially u can have Infinite air attacks as long as the aragami is still there, also that some weapons have reset commands like the zero stance for long sword and parrying upper for buster
For ground resets you can.use the good ol' shield cancel (been around since the first game). Just deploy your shield for a split second on any hit other than the last (3rd for busters, 5th for shorts, etc) and you'll cancel that hit's recovery and be able to re-initiate the combo immediately. Been a bit since I last played 2RB/Re, but I think they nerfed it a little in 3, since if you deploy your shield after the last hit, it'll have a loger animation, which wasn't the case before IIRC. And of course, this technique works best with bucklers, but shouldn't be disregarded even for towers, since it's still faster than letting the animations finish and gives you a guardpoint to exploit, much like the parrying upper, but without a base stamina cost.
I wish there was a video that would tell me how to make the camera work properly. I didn't have any problems with the first two games, but in three I can never keep the camera focused on the Aragami, especially when I use the lock-on in despair.
This helps, but being a God Eater 2 fan that has played most of the previous games, I found all of the info here not long after. Still, thanks for sharing!
This was an awesome and informative video! Thanks for the upload! Are you planning to cover the particulars of Aragami part breaks and their relationship to weapon types?
Custom Bullet was nerfed big time compared to the last game, so you can't make bullets that are generally 'more powerful' than standard bullets S-M-L sizes without sacrificing damage for extra shots, or sacrificing shots for extra damage. If you make a bullet that does 2x the base damage of a Large shot, it's going to restrict you to about ~10 rounds or less. Also if you do not 'equalize' the cost to the number of shots (ie 190 cost versus 200) you might be wasting damage output per cost as the custom bullets are based on static ammo rather than OP cost. 10 rounds = 100 Cost (exactly 100 if you don't want to waste damage). Guns multiply the bullet damage, so it should be wise to test using the weakest or 'test' version of the guns in the preview mode of custom bullet, to see what is the baseline damage per cost. For instance if a Orb costs 6 points and does 25 damage, it would be doing 0.24 damage per cost. Try to find the best 'damage per cost' ratio and the best way to apply it. And there is damage decay in the game, where if too many damage occurs at the same time and at the same hitbox, it will be halved continuously for each shot (100-50-25-12).
Maybe you could explain some of the acceleration triggers, like what exactly wonder and mutation do. Don't think they actually explain aragami abilities anywhere in game.
Its cool, yeah, but the bullets alone dont make it great, atleast imo. Example,a fully upgraded Gastraphetes is strong enough with regular ammo, with custom ammo it becomes downright op
i played GERB2 and fell in love with the Short sword/Dagger in that game due to the areal combo's, i've sorta defaulted to that wep again in GE3, is there any other weapons that will let you stay airborne for extended periods of time?, i'm noticing most people don't run daggers in assault missions which might be due to the dps?
The Charge spear is also good for longer air combo's especially when u are in burst and can double jump, and the Charge glide makes for a great opener.
Thanks for the advice guys, just did some number crunching on the Duel blades, assuming i hit every time with 180 dmg did just over 12k. With Dagger i did over 18k, so im staying with that, same stats on dagger btw imma try out spear when i can craft one thats good enough lol
This game will force you to have online team mates if you want to do really high difficulty mission(because the enemy is too OP, all GE series do this), especially DLC. You can do it too with NPC, but it's really hard , sometimes long fight. Other than that, It's fun.
i have trouble with a certain material called "Goddess Flight" yes flight not blight. With the name goddess it should drop from Sariel and is a light blue rarity item but. Its not even shown in the drop lists for missions that contain Sariel so im quite confused as to how to get those. Needed for Burst Device to increase gun dmg when shooting at weak points.
When the arigami are about to do an AOE, and you dodge to a safe distance, using guns is a way to do a bit of damage while you have to be at a distance. Also, some players prefer a more ranged play style. Then, even with all that, what would speed runners have to do with how normal people play games to enjoy them?
@@BoomstickGaming I think I remember a similar thing in the original, played that a tad... thank you, it's no monster hunter world for me but might be worth checking out
Easy Make custom heal bullets Like S heal shot+rotating orb+heal radial, aka the heal bomb Then play the game by balancing melee and gun use like switch to melee form to regain op per hit landed You can use whatever gun you just need to get comfortable with them For me personally i love the assault A rapid fire kind of gun
@@thepurehealer1279 nope Also if you want slightly aoe heal use shotgun and radial shots You can move and fire rapidly too You can also move forward no stamina with rush fire (r1 circle)
I really liked monster hunter world, but I want more content and really can’t wait till IceBorne xD In the meantime, is this game worth picking up? I’ve never played and god eater game and this is the first one I’ve heard of, the only thing that puts me off is the combat looks less focused and sort of, spammy? I’m not sure how to describe it.
The best way I can put it is: GE is to MH what Devil May Cry is to Dark Souls. GE is a lot more fast paced and focused on flashy combat with lots of quick reactions and parrying rather than methodical weardown (also more use of vertical space). It also encourages aggression since you ideally want to maintain Lv3 burst by constantly devouring (Think of the Long Sword's or Switch Axe's gimmick of rewarding constant hits being a universal mechanic) You still need to learn the monsters' patterns and tells, but everything moves along quicker (missons never really take more than 10 mins unless you're fighting multiple high-rank Aragami and/or go Solo). GE can also get a little claustrophobic and overwhelming at times due to the lack of any really big open areas (maps being more corridor than arena-like), so when they pit you against 3, 4 or more big monsters in the same mission (sometimes at the same time), you need to be more careful and methodical.
Custom bullets are nerfed here could only carry a few of it. The shop bullets are far more powerful than the custom. Unlike the previous titles. Unlimited use as long as you have OP and trigger happy. Also the damage boost links are wack. I couldn't string them together to make the bullet more powerful. I couldn't recreate my 30k dmg 150 op nuke dropper bullet. Even my simple 15k dmg bullets. I miss... the old bullet crafting. It's not fun carrying custom bullets anymore. I mainly use it for homing heal bombs.
you can,t make all the materials you need it GE3 like you could in GE2, it,s kind of frustrating aspecially when some materials have a apearence rate of around 5%
This helped a little bit but not all dat helpful since I knew some of the features mostly by random since pressing buttons on accident helps to figure out new features dat u haven't gotten to XD.
It is indeed unless u like to do 20 min over 1 kill like it is sometimes in MH, and ofc the fact that u always have teammates :) The very fast combat and the decent story(its a little less in this one) is what always drew me to this game series.
Yeah mh is slower compared to GE, but what i liked about GE is the story plus the characters are likeable, for me atleast GE1 has the best story and this one is next. I didnt like GE2 Rb’s story. But yeah ge gives you the drive to kill monsters, while in monster hunter imo not so much. Oh yeah it also helps that GE3’S DLC is gonna be free soo yeah
He installed God arc parts on his weapons through the "Skill install" in the "Upgrade/Craft" menu. You get those randomly after missions or you can buy those at the Hope merchant but they're expensive. Every weapon has a set number of skill slots that you can check in the crafting or loadout menu. The skills aren't limited to just buffing stats, they can lower stamina/OP cost, increase weapon damage, increase the EXP rate for Burst Art/Acceleration Triggers etc.
I'm wondering if the gameplay feels responsive. I couldn't get into Monster Hunter due to the lag between button pressing and action on screen. Is this the same or is the control responsive. Thanks for your help.
i have fully played 4 version of mh trough 15 years, and i haven't find any imput lag at all; u have 0,2 i-frame seconds to dodge safely while roll, how can u do that if there was an imput lag? mh is all about timing combo and counter. probably u mean this: every move on mh have a startup animation, attack animation and recovery animation, each of them are based on the weapon type and how much weight the weapon have. more weight = long animation. in GE3 however the gameplay is really fast and frenetic, and the control feels really responsive. of course some attach have long startup or recovery animation, so with some weapon u will find yourself stuck on the ground before/after certain attack. but in general is all really really fluid and responsive.
There is no lag on your inputs in Monster Hunter at all. Your attacks are commitments in MH, you have to attack when you know you have an opening. You will leave yourself open and thus can't just spam attacks like crazy like you can in most action games. This is one of the biggest reasons why people like MH or even Dark Souls. MH has very responsive fine tuned controls, you just can't button mash and expect to get away with it.
I know rigth? What a waste of a perfectly good system we could make so many fun and creative bullets now all of that has been thrown away for some limited shots wich you either make few realy large shot or few medium shots. Theres 4 slots but whats the point? Even making a simple shoot and explode on impact size M can only bring 15 shot per quest and the regular bullets suck and are boring as well. This was a very fun feature and they fucked it up. And ppl are praising it because they were to OP? In a game thats pve only? If it bother you that someone used OP bullet then play by your self or friends that didnt. And honestly online for 1 and 2 died so fast i ended up playing alone most of the game. This is bothers me alot the rest is ok and i can take not having aragami bullets ot the rage burst mode but god damit why they had to nerf the bullet edit like this why 😢?
tower shield + auto parry is the best way to block deadly attacks 😁 i wish god eater 3 ported to nintendo switch i bet it can handle the graphics including the first two games
After a lot of deliberation I have decided to get God eater 3 instead of Anthem or Jump force. Time to dust off the old God Arc and slay some big ass monsters!!
I would REALLY appreciate a more in-depth guide on the Custom Bullets. It seems really hard to make a good bullet (to me), so I've just ended up stacking five single shots in a + shape for a mega shotgun blast... but I know I could be doing so much more with the system.
You can search for recipes yourself on the internet There is honestly no such need for a full video for such when all you need are screenshots of the custom bullets, maybe a gif on how they work etc
Theres not alot you can work with if your aiming for large amounts. I hate this nerf to custom bullets, i cant make fun and creative bullets. It sucks i loved spending hours trying out diferent ways to make them cool. Now i just made a simple shoot+hit+blast bullet thatvdoes 503 damage and can carry at least 15 shots but visualy its so boring....its not bad that they made melee better but what a waste of a good unique system to nerf down the bullet edit so heavily. 😞 i cant even make my super heal bullets cause they limited. I used to keep my party fully healed most of the time and even my card/ghost would play like me and keep party healed and safe while still being in the aragamis face most of the time
Everything except the burst arts training area. Some of them may have different execution per game but they're mostly have the same objective. Burst lvl3 for example: In GER it is achievable by using a unique Predator Style that instantly gives you lvl3 burst, super slow to execute but with a great benefit. In GE2RB it's achievable by using Support Links, they'll activate depending on what time they'll go off - usually at 0, 3, and 5 minutes in the mission.
Even though I still have a few quests and stuff to do in the game, I think I'm pretty much done with Generations Ultimate. So, I'm kinda glad I found out about this game and that's coming to the Switch. Demo didn't really do much for me, but like Monster Hunter, the demo doesn't say too much anyways. lol
For assault missions I wasn't able to "solo" them until I had a rank 5 weapon and made a good sniper. I intentionally let the target get into burst to unload sniper bullets into the core and then just focus all melee on it. They usually go down in 3-3:30min. I want to point out when I say "solo" I mean when I am the only player and the rest are bots.
