Theseus is legendary for causing many players to give up their Titan mode playthrough. When you beat him, smashing circle to beat his face with the door is most cathartic moment in gaming.
I'm honestly tied with GOW 2 and 3 being my favorite of the Greek era games. While I prefer 3's gameplay, I'd say that 2 has the best overall experience. From a level design and progression perspective, I mean. As for your critique on famous Greek figures just showing up for the Hades of it, I just attribute it to being a videogame. The devs just wanted you to fight more Greek figures just like the first game. In fact, that's kind of the point of the series as a whole. Now could they have fitted them in more organically? Probably. But it's not that big a deal to me. In regards to the Last Spartan not being the Atreus that Kratos mentions in the 2018 game, I just attribute that to Kratos not wanting to name his new son after a guy he killed, especially considering he wanted to distance his old life from his new life and considering what happened to his old family... yeah. Also, don't feel alone on the flamethrower statue puzzle. I also get stumped on it on replays. Same with the Phoenix statue puzzle. Though for that, I just use one Chronos Rage per enemy to make my life easier. P.S. That Disney Hercules joke was spot on!
I remember my mom complaining about how I couldn’t beat one of the puzzles . “ if you don’t save that girl imma throw that game away!! I’m tired of her screaming! “ All in Spanish mind you lol but needless to say I figured it out real quick after that 😅
I love Gow2 its my favorite out of the entire series i played the opening level against the colosuss so many times with that epic glory of sparta playing in the background lol, the story, bosses, soundtrack, everything hits all the right beats for mee even watch the hour long behind the scenes lol great video!
Glad I'm not the only one who prefers the older God of War games compared to the new ones. The setting, the gameplay, the ennemy variety, the grandiose boss fights and set pieces. Everything (except for graphics) was just better in the original trilogy
I think everyone knows T.C. Carson as the voice of Kratos in the original trilogy, but a lot of us who are older would remember him as the intelligent, sharp wit lawyer and friend of the dumb apartment handiman Overton on the Queen Latifah sitcom from the 90’s Living Single
You should try Spartan total warrior. It was supposedly made to contend with God of War. I personally loved playing the game in my childhood and found it much more enjoyable than God Of War. It has a pretty decent story with funny sounding voicelines but other than that it’s a pretty fun hack and slash game with many different weapons
I actually have another series for you to cover and I can see you doing it. You've probably heard of the MGS series haven't you? It's what helped popularise the Stealth genre. The series technically started on the MSX2 8 bit consoles. The first did get ported to NES but wasn't as good. Snake's Revenge only followed up Konami's version on NES. The true sequel to the original Metal Gear game was Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. So the MSX games are the ones considered canon. But if you want to skip those, you can as most people started with MGS on the original PlayStation. They did have a remake of the original on GameCube titled The Twin Snakes and I'd probably save that for its own video because there's a lot to talk about with that version. I'll just say it's a remake of the original MGS and wasn't really that good. Most fans don't even consider it canon despite the fact that it's a remake of a game that is. But I would like to see you cover the MGS games in the future. Will you?
It’s funny I’ve been doing a titan mode run recently, hard as hell. But the gameplay and story of the old games are so much better than what we have now.
After being a little bit disappointed in the last 2 games I also longed for the original games, decided to make 2024 my God of War replay year, I already finished GoW 1 and Chains of Olympus, GoW 2 and Ghost of Sparta next.
@@GreatRaijin nah the newer games especially Ragnarok is he's redemption arc, the older games r cool don't get me wrong but he did a lot of shi that caused him to have a lot of guilt i.e skin being pale cuz he killed he's wife and daughter hence y in the newer he's skin is less pale n returning to original colour cuz he's freeing himself
