I didn't know donkeys could play the saxophone. You can learn a lot from RU-vid, that's why I subscribed to this science channel, videogamedunkey is the next Steven Hawkingson.....
The concept of "living as a mortal" is more referring to his lifestyle rather than his actual mortality. He's given up his life as a tool of war and destruction and slaughter, and instead lives a normal life as a normal man might. He still retains his power and strength, depreciated with age of course.. but he's still very much Kratos.
A father and his son he's now raising on his own after the death of his wife embark on a dangerous journey to not only complete a certain goal, but to learn from and to love eachother while also working to establish a stronger bond as father and son. The game's story is actually ripping off A Goofy Movie.
i watched this before playing the game, now im watching it again. i appreciate how dunky showed the game so accurately without putting anything close to a spoiler in this video.
Same, he is really good at reviewing games to get people interested all-the-while never ruining the experience by showing off too much, he's got a real talent!
Aside from a couple of the extra exploitable realms being disappointingly empty and the game having too many reskinned mini bosses, it’s a masterpiece. Loved every minute of it.
@@ggs27 Corey isn't leading the sequel. Shit was stressful so he had someone he felt was competent in the same vision leading it. I still have faith in them since the trailer alone looks like they really built upon most of the current systems instead of big changes, so with all that work done, more can be put onto the enemies/mini bosses/bosses.
People love to roast knack but I unironivally bought a ps4 for it because I tried the demo at best buy when I was 6. It was right at the ps4 launch and it was the first game i'd played aside from super mario galaxy 1/2, wii sports, and mario kart wii. It looked graphically amazing. It was garbage, but my dad got lego marvel superheroes too so I was happy.
I played through this game the other day. I absolutely love everything about this game. The way the score floods into your ears as you overlook the mountains is utterly incredible and unforgettable
It definitely has that Skyrim-effect going for it, where just being in the world is impressive and awe-inspiring. I didn’t like the rigid gear system, wish the bosses were more varied, and that the map wasn’t useless, but it’s still a wonderful game.
I think the fast travel system is actually incredibly innovative. I thought the same as you at first, but then I realized that the whole world between worlds is just the replacement for a loading screen, which is awesome
Its meh for me, i wouldve really liked it if mimir actually had more than 5 stories, i'd rather just see a loading screen than walk forward for 8 hours, and theres nothing to explore there either
@@Iamtherealaa2dontbelievetheoth Yeah, but a loading screen would take you out of the experience and make the game less immersive. God of War’s fast travel system never takes you out of the world
I cant speak for dunkey but i hated how most of the times i couldnt even travel to places i had already been. Really made me not want to do past quests i missed
4:23 I've always felt that just with this one little scene, the devs managed to fit so much character and backstory in. He's still Kratos, as evidenced by the just previous fight, but he's tired and broken down by this point.
Dunkey is one of the few content creators I know that can perfectly combine poetic descriptions of the subject with hilarious comedy. Excellent review. Truly the Knack 2 of all reviews.
I read up the lore for Ragnarok just for the game, and I gotta say, I’m excited to see how they’ll tie in Kratos and Atreus into that rollercoaster of chaotic war
I don't believe he thinks it's the best game ever, but I think he gets a guilty pleasure out of it. Besides, his favourite game is SUPAH MARIO BROTHERS 2 CAN WE GET A ROUND OF APPLAUSE EVERYBODY
I agree, everything about GOW4 is brilliant, I wish I could erase it from my memory just so I have the chance to play though it for the first time again
AugustoDRA Yeah it's the "Stranger First encounter" cause you fight him multiple times through out the game. I'm pretty sure Dunkey's talking about the first encounter.
Changing almost everything about the god of war formula could’ve ruined this game but the developers do it perfectly and make this game stand out in the franchise. Just like resident evil 7
SuperGaming Dude You know what i just noticed? Quite a few well established franchises have been totally changing the formula of their games recently and it pretty much only goes two ways: Really good or really shite. There is no middle ground. Good: Resident Evil 7& God of War Bad: Metal Gear Survive& Mass Effect: Andromeda Feel free to add to this list everyone.
well metal gear survive did bad marketing moves, bad gameplay creation and made themselves the most hated game on the planet...when the gameplay came out, justified all the haters,it is complete garbage, call of duty franchise stuff.
@@v6valkyrie Eh, I disagree. Loved the game, but the Orgres and especially the Golems were nothing but annoying. They weren't hard, they weren't fun. Just time sinks. If we consider the last boss a culmination of all the combat you've learned, the Golems and Ogres contributed nearly nothing to preparing for it, and certainly nothing for Valkryies.
Calling it now, when Dunkston makes a video on the sequel to God of War it'll be the Knack II killer. By that time Knack of War 3 will already be out though so the battle goes on and on and on...
