I love how, immediately after getting stabbed by Kratos, the guy holds no animosity and is fully aware it was a misunderstanding. He never tries to guilt trip Kratos about becoming a monster or anything like that like everyone else. Bro remained a real one till the bitter end.

Could you imagine chilling and all of a sudden there are lightning strikes everywhere. You go outside to see but the moment you look up, all you see is a giant ballsack.

Honestly, that dude is a badass, he almost made it to the sisters himself, being only a human.

Odin needs to see this. Clear proof that Kratos was loved, worshipped and respected.

This guy survives Zeu's thunderwave at the beggining of the game when kratos died, went back to sparta, survived a direct lighting bolt, somehow still manages to get that close to the temple, and holds his own decently againt a demigod/god in the darkness... dafuq. His story should be dlc.

I love the fact that kratos doesn't even flinch when a kraken about 50x his size comes

You really gotta hand it to this man. He survived a genocide, went on a journey to seek out the sisters of fate, and fought Kratos to almost a standstill. Though he didn’t know he was actually fighting Kratos to begin with until Kratos literally threw him out of the window. Most humans wouldn’t even survive a few seconds against Kratos even when they dogpile on him. But this Spartan soldier actually managed to last longer than literally any other human being in the God of War universe. A true badass even until the end.

I love that Kratos is pissed when the spartan dies. It goes to show how much respect he has for his brothers in arms.

So let's recap: - Spartan Army gets annihilated by the Blade of Olympus, wielded by literally GOD, this guy survives, even if he was the closest to Zeus and thousands of others evaporated in an instant, he survives. - Runs from Rhodes to Sparta, that's 400 miles. - Gets hit by Zeus with a thunderbolt to the back of the head, the tower he's on explodes and soldiers are immediately disintegrated, the guy is fine. - Falls from the tower, guy is fine. - Crashes on stone, fine. - Tower collapses on him, fine. - Travels a thousand miles (on water) to the Island of Creation and gets there before Kratos who had to fly a Pegasus for 6 days and 6 nights while this guy just...got there, like on foot. - Holds his own against an enraged semi-god in the darkness. Gets stabbed by the Blades of Chaos like 60 times, still manages to tell Kratos what's up for three minutes. - Calmly takes leave from existence. Wow. RIP insanely powerful mortal dude.

The fact that he even stood a chance against kratos shows just how strong he is

Kraken: Interrupts *Kratos talking to Zeus* Kratos: "So you have chosen death?"

Dude fought his way through all the shit kratos fought through and went toe to toe with him and held his own considerably why didn't we get a spin off about this dude

Kratos: You?! *Pulls sword out violently, ensuring death.* Spartan: *dies* Kratos: 😱

That spartan was a tough one indeed to have endured so much against the god of war

that “ZEEUUSSSS” really shows how much Kratos cared about his own, unlike most of the other Gods who see their soldiers as nothing but pawns, such an amazing character.

The fact that Kratos had a hard time killing his own comrade shows how throng Spartans are. What if they all had kratos powers

“He came under the cloak of darkness” Thb Zeus could have arrived in broad daylight with a marching band and fireworks show behind him and there would have been little the Spartans could do against him

When Odin said to Kratos that how can kratos be a god when no one ever worships him, meanwhile the spartans that were under the command of Kratos would live under true God of war, even Sparta would see him as a God, Odin did not chose his words carefully💀

All of this would’ve been easily avoided Soldier: wait! Those blades and those very loud and angry screams...lord Kratos? Kratos: oohhh shit! What’s up man, what’s up! Watchu doing here my guy?

this soldier actually never died....when kratos killed the sisters and went back in time time where zues killed him ...that soldier was still alive back then...and so was sparta and many who died in the journey to the sisters!!!

I like to think this was the great Spartan warrior of which Kratos named his son Atreus after in 4. The story is too perfect.

Addressing some silly things fans have mentioned: 1. This is not the original Atreus. The original Atreus sacrificed himself in a standard 300-style battle. Kratos carried him home and buried him. This happened before the events of the game series. 2. After Zeus kills Kratos and destroys Sparta while he's dead, Kratos goes back in time to not die. This presumably saves Sparta... except that Kratos swiftly destroys it again in GoW3, as the death of Poseidon floods all of Greece, let alone all the consequent disasters provoked by further gods' deaths. 3. Even if Sparta is intact for some portion of GoW3, this does not somehow stop Kratos from summoning fallen Spartans with Army of Sparta, because the Spartans alive at any moment are not the only Spartans who have ever lived (and died). Kratos would prefer to summon the dead ones since they're already dead, meaning he not only doesn't risk their deaths but they're probably a lot more effective in battle anyway.

Part of me wanted to wish this guy was Atreus but how Kratos described him it was when he was still a soldier.

Plot Twist: The Kraken's name is also named Zues.

Typically, whenever someone is known as "the last" of anything they are either cowardly, lucky, or tough-as-hell. From what we see of this guy? He's the 3rd option. Tough-as-hell.

I wish Sony made the spartan soldier more memorable in the game like giving him a name or at least make him a skin when beating the game but sadly it didn’t happen

All Spartans really are great warriors. Game mechanic or not, he really brawled Kratos for quite some time. While already very likely injured himself. Survived BOTH of Zeus’s assaults, too!! I wish we really learned his name!

"I told you return to Sparta. Why did you leave Sparta unprotected." Is kratos' way of saying "look what you made me do. Why have you made me do this. If you were in Sparta, protecting it, you wouldn't have had anything befall you. Why did you let this happen to you? Why didn't you just listen to me?!" You can tell he felt really remorseful of how all of this played out

This is sick. I believe this dude actually put up a decent fight with Kratos.

Makes me realize how strong all of his soldiers were

For comparison, a direct lightning bolt from Zeus was enough to knock off one of Gaia's hands. This guy just tanked it, and is still alive, let alone in one piece

I remember beating GoW4 and Kratos saying how Atreus was named after a spartan, my first thought was Atreus was named after this spartan, Kratos' way to honor his fallen brothers. I know Atreus of Sparta is different guy but I still, I like to think this guy was also named Atreus.

Imagine theres a game tittled *God Of War: The last Spartan*

The fight scene was like playing shadow fight.

This dude is infinitely more badass than Kratos. As a human, Kratos nearly died to a barbarian and survived because he prayed to Ares to save him. This guy on the other hand survived the full wrath of Zeus, faced down God of War Kratos and put up a fight in the process, and lived long enough after getting stabbed by one of the Blades of Chaos to tell Kratos the full story of what happened to Sparta. All while being a normal human. If he had any godly power he would’ve slapped Kratos around like a child. Biggest, most underrated gigachad in all of human history.

Can we appriciate how that one Spartan was way ahead of Kratos in his search for the sisters of fate, Kratos had to kill gods and demigods and mythological beasts and move entire temples to get to the sisters and this one Chad Spartan just strolled through all that BEFORE Kratos and not only survived but evaded literally everything that even Kratos had a hard time putting down. Personally I believe that single Spartan is actually the strongest god in all of Greek mythos

Legit, this scene in God of War II almost always makes me tear up. The sheer amount of respect between Kratos and this Spartan, and the fact that he even has faith that Kratos will succeed against the Sisters of Fate.

I have a theory that this guy is one of Krato's is illegitimate children. The man had a habit of sleeping around. And it would explain his ability to get past all those dangers and hold his own against Kratos for as long as he did.

0:24 when I was first playing this part I remember being like "Wow, this guy sounds and moves like an ordinary human but he's somehow being a challenge to me, killing him will be so damn satisfying" then at 1:16 I was like "NOOO!!!!... but he strong tho" Seriously tho I almost cried when I realised that it was him. Also they really showcased his Determination and Strength in the game perfectly with the music that played during his fight with Kratos, that is the same music they use for Kratos vs Hercules.

one of my most favorite details about Kratos is how he questioned his last solider and the implications behind it. he said "why do you leave sparta unprotected?" which to me, shows he believes in each of his men and that none are expendable when it comes to protecting sparta. i mean im reaching here but that's what i gathered

I heard his voice and went “oh no…” and honestly this guy was a freaking god himself. He held his own against Kratos. FREAKING KRATOS. And I feel like Kratos respected him more than any other warrior. He recognized his face, if not his name, and was genuinely upset to see him die (as well as the news of Sparta but you know).

Back In my day kids, this was one of the best playstation games out there. You didn have to wait a day for it to install. It didn't require a 40gb update every month. You literally put the game in and became a god.
