If Faye knew every step Kratos and Atreus was gonna take, it must've annoyed her greatly to see them looking for treasures and doing side-quests instead of focusing on their actual objective.
HOLY! Kratos called HIM "son" instead of "boy"! It such a small detail, but it just goes to show Kratos's development as a character! I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH!
So..................Kratos kills (or should we say "overkill") all olimpians and then retired to the norse lands to have a son that will belong to a totally different pantheon, then he dies in the future and poor atreus swears vengeance upon the aesir and tries to kill all of them............way to make a family tradition.
That would means the end of the god of war franchise, which is not likely to happen after this. Moreover, the trend nowadays is to give a sad ora cool backstory for the villain so you can like him better and shit like that, so if the kid goes all god of evil he is more likely to be the new protagonist and give some deserved rest to kratos. But that's only what I think, they can do a whole lot more than that.
GG Ez or, you missed the entire purpose of this game. Kratos entire lesson to Atreus was in hopes he would be better then him. In hopes he wouldn’t walk the same path as he. I would say instead of completing revenge, Atreus breaks the cycle and does not strike down all the Gods, but rather spares them because he sees there is more then just killing and bloodshed, just like Kratos hoped he would.
Honestly, it was a surprising twist that he is actually Loki. But there were some hints tho: - Atreus is very intelligent. - He is a son of a giant. - Not a blood son of Odin. - Has Magic powers. - Wanted to have shape-shifting powers so he can turn to animals. - Became sorta a dick when he learns he's a God. - And also, that Mistletoe Arrow with Baldur was a dead give away.
also at 5:50, it seems to show atrua/loki at an older age, perhaps as an adult or teen holding someone, maybe Kratos? Is this part hinting at Kratos's death in the next game?
I mean Marvel and God of War are both loosely based on the actual mythologies. If you know most of the general greek, roman, and norse mythology, then God of War and Marvel don't make any sense.
Odin was never Loki's adopted father. That's a Marvel creation. In myth, he and Loki blended their blood together, which is commonly interpreted to mean that they adopted the other as a sibling. Loki already has parents and brothers, and nothing in myth implies Faurbati and Laufey (his mum, not his dad) are dead.
I wasn’t interested in playing as that kid when Kratos eventually passes on. But knowing he’s Loki and this story was done so well. I’ll be glad to play him
You sure? I could have swore there were some myths of how Thanos fought against a pantheon of gods that served to avenge those in Midgar Yeah, there was a god of iron, a god of panthers, and a god of...shields? Thor, on the other hand, truly had NOTHING to do with Norse mythology
So Mimir was right. Jormungandr has been sent back in time, and he only vaguely recognises Atreus because he appears younger than he’s ever seen him. From the mural, it appears that in his grief from kratos’ death he birthed jormungandr, perhaps specifically to battle and kill Thor in revenge (assuming he was the one responsible)
Agent Apple yo the man thanos isn't stronger than the real titans from gow, and he has not all of them stones for the gauntlet, my guess the man's gets his face kicked in by the mad spartan
navid soleimani The Marvel's and DC's version of Olympians are MUCH stronger than the Olympians depicted in GoW.. Even in the original mythology they are stronger...like a whole stronger... Kratos will not be able to defeat any of them for sure. They are too op unlike the ones in GoW..And thanos is definitely stronger than most gods even without the Infinity gauntlet. So the mad Titan takes this fair and square. And if he does have the Infinity gauntlet then Kratos will die even before the battle starts...
Agent Apple I agree with the infinity gauntlet part, but thanos himself is just a overglorified brawler with beyond average intelligence, kratos took peopel stronger than this man, but sure there are peopel in comic books which are above kratos
navid soleimani That's the thing..The ppl who have fought Kratos and died are heavily depowered compared to their comic counterparts. I don't think if Kratos can even put a scratch on the Marvel's Olympic gods. Like Zeus, Hercules and Ares of Marvel are insanely op.. And thanos is considered a serious threat even for them. And he destroys planets and shit without the IG on a daily basis of sorts. I really don't think Kratos can defeat a guy like that.. But hey that's fiction for u... nothing logical ever happens..
For those who are wondering, the world serpent is Atreus son, at the "kratos dies" wall. The saddness makes atreus make a world serpent. The reason the serpent is present in the game, is because mimir said that the serpent came from ragnarok (end times) and fought with thor. And thor punched him so hard the serpent went back in time.
I am Scandinavian and we learn a lot of norse mythology in pre-school (was a long time ago) so it’s pretty cool to see how they have really put some effort into the story and really got it right
Kratos is going to be the grandfather of Hela, death herself; Fenris, the giant wolf that will kill Odin; Jormungundr, whom will kill Thor and a fucking 8-legged horse whose name I forgot.
Loki wasn't just a trickster god or the god of mischief, he was also the god of fire. He had the ability to change form and gender, and his name means "Net" or "Tangle", which suits him because he creates "nets" of chaos and schemes.
the god of fire thing isnt really accurate. Seeing as though Loki directly meets the personification of Fire "Logi" in the Utgårda Loke story. You can make the argument that hes the god of the Hearth, but the fire thing dosent make much sense.
I found this part especially crazy, cause in Norse mythology Loki kills Baldur with a dart made of mistletoe, and eventually brings about Ragnarok. Bringing all the Norse gods down. Guess we know how the sequels might end
moviemaker2011z I mean as a title. People that don't want the spoiler read it because they see the video. He could have done: Atreus's true identity. There wouldn't have been a spoiler and he would get the views of the people who want to know.
Starscream91 And you're bitching about people wanting a title of a youtube video changed despite all these ~poor suffering and starving slaves~. People you're only using and care about as a "gotcha! shut up!" in an argument on the internet. Sell your computer and donate to charity if it's so important, you bottom feeder.
a little backstory: Loki was a popular name for male giants to the point where some chroniclers had to specifically mention where this particular Loki from their story came from just to make sure people didn't think it was Asgardian Loki. This kinda explains a huge chunk of the randomness of Loki's myths and such names as Utgard-Loki.
The game forshadowed it since the beggining but at this point it got confirmed. Kratos is going to die. The francise will probaly be based on Atreus in the next games......
Yeah at least it’s not like the Thor movies. Makes me mad that they portray Loki as Thor’s adopted brother. It also makes me made that they pretend thor and Odin weren’t dicks
Jack Grayson yeah, but it looks like something is coming out of his mouth, and going into kratos (or the other way around). Maybe it's hatred? If Thor kills Kratos, then Loki will want vengeance, becoming the new "God of war" and start a killing spree on all of Odins gods, continuing a bloody cycle
Patreek Sterfetish atreus was obviously loki? Youre telling if you looked up atreus before the game was released youd find out he was loki? You sound ridiculous, it was supposed to be the biggest reveal of the game spun out of creativity not out of already founded lore, there was absolutely no way people would know kratos A GREEK GOD's son would be loki. Fuck we didnt even know the mothers name until the game came out.
Connecting what dots? Literally everything you said we find out mid way and at the end of the game. GIANT SIZED MOM? Laufey was half giant, she was a ordinary sized person. She was a Giant, not a giant. Atreus' abilities don't coincide with Loki's, does Atreus turn into a wolf? Does he shapeshift? Does he practice illusions? No, he shoots electric arrows and poison arrows. Again, not anything we find out until later in the game. Personality? Ok, is Atreus mischievous, an all round wee prick? No, hes none of that. I honestly don't see how the fuck you can defend this piece of shit youtuber for spoiling the BIGGEST REVEAL OF THE GAME for a couple clicks and for that Y O U T U B E R E V E N U E.
I like the twist to it. Before the game dropped and more information came out, people assumed his son would either be Thor not knowing Thor was already around and screwing over folks. The other suggestion was Loki. Can't wait to see what happens in the sequel/GoW 5. And Marvel jokes aside (they have twists to the lore). Loki is technically Thor's step-uncle so I wanna see his reaction to him when they meet (outside of the cutscene).
Thor: Loki, don't you try to convince me to wear a dress again you son of a bitch! Atreus: What are you talking about? Thor: Stop playing stupid, uncle! You know what I'm talking about! Atreus: Kratos, help! Thor: Wait a minute ... this fucker killed my son. Kratos: Run, boy! Thor: That's no child you murderous scumbag. Atreus: I wanna fight too! Kratos: Run, boy!
This game is a true masterpiece it shows even on the brink of death a franchise can come back from the dead better than what it was, but if they kill Kratos I be pissed.
These are my predictions of what is going to happen... Next game: God of war 5 (The death of kratos since he is old and he isnt strong enough to beat thor.) Game after that: LOKI (Odin takes atreus. Loki grows up then kills odin and causes ragnarok)
Holy shit I just realized something, the painting with Atreus holding Kratos, there appeared to be a snake like creature Protruding from Atreus's mouth! Could that be the world serpent? Seeing as how Loki is the father of the world serpent
So I get it now... in Norse mythology “Loki” is a shapeshifter and the father of Fenrir the wolf so maybe he will one day shapeshift into a wolf like he said and surprise kratos but he’s also the father of Hel so idk what they’re doing here Ig we’ll find out in the next game
Wait wait wait Ok Atreus is God mortal giant But Kratos is God Titan Mortal So wouldn't atreus be part Titan also since Zeus's dad is Cronos (a Titan) And Kratos's Dad Zeus being God and Titan So technology Atreus Is 5% titan 30% mortal 30% giant 35% god
I think I get it. The giants saw Atreus as a savior of some degree and wanted Atreus to destroy asgard but odin had them all killed in fear of atreus, but both sides failed because they couldn't find him.
Disliked, probably because you put spoiler in that title. There are lot of people like me who use youtube and don't want spoilers. Think how would you feel when you would be given spoiler of a story, for which you have waited long, before you even finish it. :(
fran romero I think they r just trying to tease us. But just wait for the game developers to answer all put question which they're bound to soon since the community is dying to get their questions answerd
These marvel fans need to put down the comics and read a book on actual mythology. Then maybe they would be able to piece it all together. Marvel is an inacurate parody of norse mythology.
God of War 5 is 100% going to be Atreus as the playable main character and hes gonna get revenge for Kratos cause Odin kills him. This is literally setting up for that so fucking hard even a blindman can see it
You're probably right and they even give ample time for people to prepare for it with the hints they give in this game, but when it happens this fanbase is going to implode because the majority is still on that "KRATOS TOO BADASS TO DIE" train. Inb4 gamers flip on Cory Barlog overnight and start harassing him on social media because their favorite tonka-truck action hero gets killed off lmao.
It's easy enought yo just google it "Downloadable content (DLC) is additional content created for a released video game. It is distributed through the Internet by the game's official publisher."
Or family traditions of a son killing he’s own father. Zeus killed Cronos. Kratos killed Zues. Atreus will then kill Kratos? But the game show Kratos wants to break tha cycle to teach Him to not follow the same path.. vengeance. But we know what Loki is in Norse myth...
mobikine gaming ok then Zeus wants to kill his father Cronos but instead defeated him and made use of him (pandora labyrinth)and torture him by sending him in the Tartarus.
I’m thinking Atreus won’t kill Kratos but he will be killed by either Thor or Odin and it will unleash his powers (which I think is how the giant serpent was created)
If you know Norse myth Loki's children ended Norse Mythology. Fenrir kills Odin Giant serpent killed Thor. Loki Kills heimdal. It's be awesome and lore accurate Kratos ended Greek Myth and Loki's gonna end Greek myth
I hope they don’t shy away from him being able to change genders and the such, it’s apart of his mythology and to ignore it would just be pandering to the wrong people
actually all he did was take away his full immortality. gods in the god of war series can still die, just not by natural means such as age, illness and mortal harm.also the game is not 100% following mythology. such as kratos being the demigod son of zeus when he is the personified god of strenght and power in mythology and the son of styx. they are basically puttin their own twists on it for the game so let's see what happens
