Thor: "Are you a calm and reasonable person?" Kratos: "I am." Thor: "Then why does that glowing icon at the corner of the screen say 'Rage of Sparta'?"
"Stop acting like a father for a moment and start thinking like a general" Boy you are seriously misinformed, the last time that happened a lot of people died and I mean a LOT
@@LordBackuro positive that's it's swartalheim or vanajeim , I'm sure they've included new maps. And yea , i remember that those places were locked on the bifrost by Odin but they've definitely added new maps
I mean, he should know. His War literally destroyed a whole realm and pantheon. Though the Norse pantheon with their Ragnarok obsession cares little about it.
@@alexanderjk3285 The gameplay fits the newer story. Kratos in the old trilogy was violent and brutal and that was reflected in the more hack and slashy gameplay. Kratos is much calmer (or at least doesn't resort to violence first) in the new games so the gameplay follows suit.
@@alexanderjk3285 if you watch the gameplay they have added more moves and probably have some stuff similar to the older games. the gameplay for the older games wasn't that deep it just has you doing combos for loot or health/magic that's it.
@@alexanderjk3285 i cant take people serious that claim the old hack ans slay gameplay to be better. the new one is way more strategic and has more impact.
"Odin got tricks up his sleeve we haven't dared to consider" and they stated Thor and Freya are the main antagonist. Tyr being alive / having the knowledge of traveling to distant lands. I'm calling it, Odin is going to escape to Egypt.
Thats...honestly.....Genius, tying the end of Norse mythology into the beginning of the Egyptian mythology during Kratos and Atreus's story...I mean fuggin MINT son!!!
There's another theory. Frog men and deer centaurs have been spotted in the trailer, indicative of Aztec culture. Odin could be going to Mexico, it could actually be a good excuse to research some Aztec mythology.
Is that what you want?A final boss where the antagonist stands no chance? An easy fight and no tension or sense of danger? I want Thor to be Kratos's equal and he should lose the first fight and only win the rematch after awakening his old rage
I look forward to destroying all the gods of asgard just like kratos destroyed the olympian gods only this time hopefully destroying the gods of asgard wont destroy the world in the process
"Stop thinking like a father for once and think like a general". The expression and base in Kratos' "NO!", the depth behind his passionate response. What a way to give a previously 1 dimensional character an amazing character development.
I was just hoping more for a Brian Shaw look. Ragmarok's Thor looks like he has next to no muscle, just a big belly. I hope I'm proven wrong though and he's awesome anyway
The very first thing I thought of when I saw the axe throwing was the name George Mawle. Thank you for pioneering such a fantastic weapon for the franchise. You'll be forever remembered as legend. RIP.
GoW4's combat was some of the most satisfying gameplay to date. The way you nearly felt the impact of the axe coming back into your hand, the thud of each hit, it was beautiful. looking at this trailer, that's the part that gets me in the feels again. When he gut punches that deer-centaur, and when he chain slams that dude... Man, I'm am READY to be doing this again.
my friend in 2 weeks time since seeing this ive beaten all of them and the new game + on those that allow it, im hyped, and to be fair ive beaten every single one at least 5 times each, by GOW3 and GOW4 are the two ive played more than anything else, ive literally done absolutely everything on them, right now im actually trying to beat GOW4 in God of War difficulty, im actually pretty close, currently in the temple of tyr tryna get the unity stone
I can tell this will take us back to the greek feeling of the game I mean I just since zeus and odin going at it for some reason, a whole greek and nurse mythology battle royal
@@Kiss_My_Ace I think they mean Angrboda, she's the black girl at the end of the trailer. Kind of stupid to even be upset about it considering not only is Angrboda a fictional character, not only in a videogame but is a literal myth/folklore, she's rarely mentioned in any of the actual prose of Norse myth. Her best description is that she's a giant that bears Loki's children. That's it, that's her entire contribution. There's no racial importance to her (well her being a giant, I guess) but people are really making a fuss over absolutely nothing.
the most hype for this game. The mechanics in the last god of war game were beautiful. I stopped playing console a while ago and just so happened to get a ps5 and play the free games with it. God of war blew my mind
Woah, interesting parallel. Atreus/Loki walking in on an apprehensive Kratos in the beginning of the trailer is extremely similar to Kratos walking in on a distraught Atreus towards the beginning of the last game. Both enter from a strongly lit, harsh outside environment into a firelit interior. In the last game, Kratos was the imposing and harsh figure approaching the soft-hearted son. In this cutscene, Loki is looking quite intimidating with the deer horns above his head. His shadow is almost like a Wendigo or something. Perhaps here it is fiery Loki, angry at a softened Kratos who just wants the best for his son? The trailer seems to put Loki in a very feisty light compared to a passive and patient Kratos.
There’s gonna be another game after this one and if they do a time skip again I wonder how Loki will develop more in this game. I feel like he’ll eventually try to turn on kratos being what he is.
Well, seems like Freya's got her "warrior spirit" back Because according to Mimir, Odin literally didn't let her harm a living creature, be it by blade or by spell. Seems Odin sees that he and Freya now have a common enemy, that being Kratos.
when fueled by vengeance, alot of shit goes out the window lol, and from that little cutscene she didnt even come close to striking kratos, so maybe that wasnt necessarily breaking that curse on her? who knows
@@n1ghtgr1ffen69 she was definetely striking at Kratos with a sword, and kratos blocked her attack, she broke the curse, but her wings are not back.. yet?
@@TheInfamousWolf Do you not know anything about mythology?? That’s quite literally what he looks like. Eating huge feasts and drinking all the time will do that to you.
“Stop thinking like a Father and start thinking like a General!” PTSD flashbacks “Start thinking like a General” Plus, past Atrues in GOW 4 would have loved if Kratos thought like a father
@@alexanderjk3285 nah. this is actually better. ps2/3 god of war was very arcade-like, too much hack and slash and gameplay-wise outdated. this new gow is really mature. i understand you prefer the old games, but this is objectively seen just better in many aspects and it shows in ratings. ofc there will always be some nostalgic haters who wont accept progress, but thats nothing new.
@@alexanderjk3285 from what I have read from people who praise the older games, all you do is certain combos for enemies to get magic or health. the gore has stayed. and now the enemy variety is wider, maybe even as much as gow 2. I bet if the games continued with the same mechanics that you praise so much it would've flopped after ascension and you would complain about the games not being different.
I pray to god that the Ragnarok actually does what it said was gonna happen in the first game. Odin being killed by giants, the world serpent being sent back in time and a battle between Thor and Kratos. All of that would be not only beautiful cinematics but also incredibly fun missions
we just going to ignore the foreshadowing of Loki carrying the deer and the antlers being over his head resembling his helmet from Norse Mythology.. thats so good 🔥🔥
After Kratos is done unaliving Norse Mythology I hope to see him tackle Japanese Mythology next. Imagine how badass Kratos would look in a kimono and katana!
"In Moments of Crisis, Panic Does Nothing, Harness It. Let it Serve You." 2:24 Such a Powerful Scene. Feels like Cory Barlog is telling us not to Panic/Fear Covid19 Crisis. Can't Wait to experience this Masterpiece.
Trailer Thor: "You seem like a calm and reasonable person....are you a calm and reasonable person." - Thor (God of War Ragnarok) Mythology Buffs: ...are YOU a calm and reasonable person?!
Looking back from the beginning of this game it improved so much that when it comes to an end you will really miss it. I hope they will make 10more sequels for this GOW game.
Part of me was kinda hoping that Thor would be portrayed in the trailers as a villain but in the end become an ally. That probably won't happened because of Asgard being cruel in this game, but who knows. Either way I am sure they will do it justice!
Just so you guys know how hyped I am for this my father let me play the original god of war games when I was a kid and now that I finished the previous game I am so hyped for this New One.
Kratos: The dwarfs are gonna be busy upgrading our new weapons like: My (Thor's) Hammer. (Mjolnir) My (Odin's) Spear. (Gungnir) My (Hogni's) Sword. (Dainslief) My other (Sigmund's/Sigurd's) Sword. (Gram) My (Frithiof's) magic Sword. (Angurvadal) My (Heimdall's) other magic Sword (Hofund) My (Hròlf Kraki's) extra sharp Sword. (Skofnung) And my (Svafriami's) also magic Sword (Tyrfing) Atreus his new Dagger/Wand. (Laevateinn) And Atreus (Frey's) his mysterious Sword. (Sumarbrander)
Gotta remember in God of war 4 the timeline is set back to before Loki had his kids so of course Tyr will have both hands also he helped the Jotun Giants so Odin chained him up as a punishment until he tells him what he wants to know
Well. I'll say this much. My number one complaint about the first game was there wasn't enough enemy diversity. Looks like they took that criticism well and expanded on it
I think there were enough enemies. Something about the gameplay made it look like there was no variety. Maybe they can focus on enhancing enemies moves rather than creating alot of enemies with similar moves
@@NaveedESahar no he is right. the enemy variety lacked, even the minibosses were always the same ones. trolls and those beamblasting stonemonsters. but i believe in this game they had the resources and time to fix that problem since they didnt need to overhaul the whole graphic engine and character models, so i believe variety wont be a problem anymore.
@@Kuerikami yes they have foundation now so they have more time to polish everything. I understand there was less variety of enemies as compared to prev games but i was satisfied overall. Im just worried they will end up adding bunch of more enemies without many move sets. If you play game on hardest difficulty you will realize there were enough enemies as each one gives hard times. I don't really mind more enemies
true, that asgard warrior that came from the bifrost looks sick asf with this entrance and outfit. and him charging seems like a good mechanic if they have different enemies around you and he comes in changing the flow of battle.
