From Santa Monica Studio comes the sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018).
Fimbulwinter is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world. Along the way they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. The threat of Ragnarok grows ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the safety of the realms.
● A future, unwritten: Atreus seeks knowledge to help him understand the prophecy of “Loki” and establish his role in Ragnarok. Kratos must decide whether he will be chained by the fear of repeating his mistakes or break free of his past to be the father Atreus needs.
● Instruments of war: The Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos and Guardian Shield return alongside a host of new abilities for both Kratos and Atreus. Kratos’ deadly Spartan kills will be tested like never before as he battles gods and monsters across Nine Realms to protect his family.
● Explore vast realms: Journey through dangerous and stunning landscapes while facing a wide variety of enemy creatures, monsters and Norse gods as Kratos and Atreus search for answers.

I liked how they show Atreus’ Growth. In the first game the firs misión was hunting deer, in the second he’s already hunted deer

And like in the beginning of the first one, Kratos hid his chain scars on his arms and kept turning away from Atreus, and in this one Atreus is the one who was hiding something from Kratos. Awesome start

To think Christopher Judge almost didn't come back to voice Kratos, what a devastating loss that would have been. During the lat minute when Kratos shouts "NO!" after Atreus tells him to think like a general, then pause and says "No" with such introspection it's truly beautiful acting. With just his voice I felt the nearly 2 decades of games and growth for Kratos.

howdy cowboy big fan your guides have gotten me through soulsborne games i never would have managed otherwise :) been checking in on this series as I play through the game myself. I started over to try give me god of war after watching this episode and am stoked i did. even the next difficulty down felt like you can mash through wins. Can't recommend trying give me god of war enough. Feels like it's the way the game is supposed to be played. you have to use every tool they give you (and they give you a lot) to get through fights. I'm no serious gamer and I've been having a blast with it. thanks for the hardwork cowboy

I like that they put in that extra work of keeping the same voice actor for Atreus and editing his voice to keep it consistent instead of finding a new voice actor.

Sunny Suljic voiced Atreus in both GoW 2018 and GOW:R. The difference is just his natural maturation in 5 years.

What an amazing start to the series! The crisp quality is giving it another level. If the series is nearing or as long as Elden Ring level, I'd vote for more episodes per day. Keep it up Cowboy

Everyone’s commenting on Atreus’s growth and everything, which is extremely well written. But as a Fan of the OG series, nothing is hitting me as hard as Kratos. You can tell that he’s worn out and tired. You can tell that he feels the aches of thousands of battle wounds, some physical and some not. And I really like how you can almost see Kratos’s inner struggle when it comes to Atreus, because you can tell that he genuinely cares for him and that he wants whats best for him, and that he’s proud of the man Atreus is becoming. But at the same time, he’s uncertain and distant. He has no idea how to help Atreus now, and you can see that struggle. Not to mention his struggle with His Wife’s death

Just a helpful little tidbit, single tapping dodge is actually safer than rolling every time, it keeps you from getting caught by follow up attacks

Love how they've been fighting against her for years yet Kratos never tries to kill her even though Freya constantly attacks him for killing her son (reasonable reason) unlike in the previous games Kratos wouldn't of hesitated to end her

What a fantastic start to this game, quicker to action than it's predecessor also like we're getting to see Faye. I've been curious about just who this woman is who probably knew exactly who Kratos was and fell in love with him anyway and managed to get him to even want being a husband and father again, I was honestly expecting it to be left a total mystery so glad to be wrong on that one.

I know I'm late to the party, but Atreus does indeed have the same voice actor. Same kid, just older now so he's going through puberty. As for "I don't remember why she wants to kill us" 🤣🤣🤣I laughed so hard, because it's tied into the end of the final boss fight of the previous game. I know you found this one out a little later, but I still found it absurd and hilarious.
