In this video we go through the current range of Godox Speedlite Flashes including the TT350, V350, TT600, TT685 and V860. #godox #godoxspeedliterange #hypop
Each flash is available for most major camera brands including Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm and Olympus. A breakdown of each flash can be found below:
TT350 and V350
Smaller flashes, perfect for mirrorless cameras or if you'd prefer a more compact speedlite. They are full master flashes with TTL and HSS up to 1/8000s. They're compatible with Godox's X wireless trigger system using the X1 or XPro triggers. The TT350's are powered by 2x AA batteries whereas the V350 is powered by Godox's Lithium-ion battery which increases the recycle time of the flash and allows for 500 full power flashes.
TT600 and TT600S
Full sized manual flashes with HSS up to 1/800s. Also compatible with the Godox X Wireless System when using the X1 and XPro triggers. The TT600 flashes are compatible with most cameras featuring a metal hot shoe (except Sony). The TT600S is made specifically for Sony cameras with Sony's proprietary MFI (multifunction interface) hot shoe.
TT685 and V860II
Similar to the 350 series, the TT685 is a full sized master TTL/HSS flash. They feature a guide number of GN60 and work withe the Godox X1 and XPro triggers. They are great substitutes for your camera brand's flashes (Canon Flashes, Nikon Flashes etc..) The V860II is the lithium-ion battery version of the TT685 and therefore increases recycle time to 1.5s at full output. It allows for up to 500 full power flashes and is perfect with Wedding and Event photographers or just for any photographer who requires a faster recycle time.
Overall, Godox flashes are cost effective flash lighting options and a great system to invest in. They're compatible with most brands and pack in all the features of the branded flashes for a fraction of the price.

Very useful video - thanks for explaining this confusing range of flashes. One tip though, if you’re going to be quoting loads and loads of figures with decimal points, I’d recommend you write the numbers up on a chart somewhere on the screen as you say them, because it takes a lot of brain power to remember the first set of numbers for one flash and then do the maths in order to compare it with the other flash. Doing it visually will make your videos easier to watch.

Building a Macro and still life studio and will start with 2 TT600s thanks to you I know they already have HSS with Xpro, They can be used with Lumix and I can upgrade to 685 for TTL (Yongnuo cannot for Olympus Lumix) I do believe That Canon Nikon etc should be careful why buy one of those at 3 times the price🤔 Thanks a lot 👍

Nice. You forgot to mention the longevity of the lithium-ion rechargeables though. supposedly you can get twice the amount of shots out of them as well SD faster refresh rate and in most situations not having to stop to change those Double A's is worth having the lithium-ion. the lithium-ion powered ones are much more expensive but it really seems worth it for the speed and longevity.

Am using a TT685C and also have a X1TF to use with a Fuji X-T30. TTL and HSS work with this combination. In fact, the speedlight shows “FUJI” when using the remote trigger. Now have a speedlight I can share between 2 camera systems.

Excellent video on the different flashes Godox produce One item I would've liked to have seem: I wish you had pulled the 350s out of their boxes and shown them with the others. I have an Olympus EM1 MKII and the size of the 680 and 860 are a concern.; seeing them with the 350s would've given me an idea of scale. Thanks.

Hi, very informative explanation. I have a question, on the TT600S the multi interface Sony shoe will set all the functions on the camera, shutter speed, zoom indication of flash ready etc (No TTL of course) or it doesn 't communicate at all, only the center contact? if this is the case why the sony shoe?

Hey, great comparison man, thanks. I have a problem with my a6400 and a TT685s, when using it in TTL mode with a shutter faster than 1/160s (high speed sync) it seems to just fire at full power all the time, is that intended, or am i doing something wrong? shouldnt it be metering with TTL?

Love Godox for what they have done, on that note the main issue(s) are if you're using non Godox strobes you can not control the lights even with the firmware updates. All you have is a trigger it's looking like Yongnuo is the only flash controller that will work with your mix of light.

A note about the flashes that take standard batteries, I have seen significantly better recycle times on my Amazon Basics flash when using Nickle Metal-hydride (Ni-MH) batteries (rated power of 3 WH per battery, 1.2 volt 2500 mAh) than I ever had with alkalines. Of course, rechargeable batteries are going to be more expensive than their alkaline counterparts, but they do reduce operating costs.

i have the TT685 and just acquired a V350.The smaller unit is lovely, operates more smoothly and can still be used as a master flash (can be used instead of an X-T1 as you can set it's power to 0) Just need to practice a bit the confusing menu

I am new to using a flash on my A7 III. Don't have much experience at all to be honest. I am looking at either the V860 II or the V350. Because the A7 III is great at high ISO will the larger flash be more beneficial or is the V350 enough? In other words if you had both which flash will be used mostly in terms of every type of photography you can think of. Thanks
@atistiltins6163
@atistiltins6163 5 лет назад
@@christianlionel1988 The smaller versions in high iso will work grate, the larger ones power output will come in handy, if you need that higher power and/or faster recycle times. (faster recycles and more light at same power increments). In addition, lower powered flash pops generate less heat, if you plan on utilizing it in quick pop sucsession with high power, then the smaller ones may over heat faster and slow down

Depending on how you shoot, the easy way would be to use TTL and adjust with flash exposure compensation. Set your desired aperture and start shooting! Once you're comfortable you can start playing around with Manual however we like to keep our ISO at 100 and no higher than 1/125 SS unless using High Speed Sync

First when using either rechargeable or external battery packs for the V350, V860, TT600 or TT685 using either will decrease recycle times not increase recycles times and all of the flashes shown in the video have build in master modes function which will trigger and control all the others using the master mode by group/channel, HSS, off or on and power level adjustments.
@hypop
@hypop 5 лет назад
Robert T. Johnson thanks for pointing that out. Increase the speed of the recycle time* is what was meant. Yes, all the flashes shown have built-in* (not build in) master modes but this would mean that you would have to camera mount the master flash to control. If you’d like them all off camera you would still need the use of the Godox X triggers.
@roberttjohnson
@roberttjohnson 5 лет назад
Yes you would need to have one of the flashes on the camera to act as a master to the others. Researched manuals for each states " Fully support Nikon i-TTL camera flash. Workable as Master or Slave unit in a wireless flash group. With built-in 2.4GHz wireless remote system to support transmitting and receiving." I am a Nikon shooter. Still a great video and I would recommend the Godox flash system to anyone.

Hi , GREAT VIDEO ! Can you please help me i want to buy a V860IIC for my Canon SL3 , the only problem is that Canon remove the central pin from the hot shoe , i understand there is a firmwhere update out there that will make it work but on the Godox page the canon 250D (SL3) was not mentioned .

Best to hop into your local Godox retailer to try this in person. Canon have been removing compatibility with third party flashes and making it harder for Canon users. Your local retailer should be able to update the firmware of their gear for you to test.

Question?..If I purchase the larger v860II and want to use off camera...pretty much always...but want sometimes one on camera should I get the smaller v350 to use as my trigger , or will it be too complicated. That way I have both flashes and can use off camera or on camera (smaller one) sometimes.?

The V350 will also work as master so that configuration sounds suitable. Later down the track if you want both off camera simply look at the X1 or XPro trigger.

The hot shoe is the main concern now since pple with budget cameras like 2000d...so make sure you alos zoom in the hotshoe.....i tried godox tt600 and it somehow worked
