Appreciate the Kids Shop images credit! (= Not a very noteworthy game outside of the Publicity Department, but the Japanese version at least has a cute nod to "Resurrection of Godzilla" as one of the movie titles you can choose, this being the name of another movie where Bagan was intended to appear. Curiously in the Museum monster bios, while the US entries translated a majority of the monster powers and a summary of their respective movies, the Japanese entries sometimes go into more detail about the making of the monsters, and some actually question certain plot holes in the movies. My favorite: "In Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, it is said that a time traveling individual cannot exist at the same point in time of their time warp destination, and if there is an overlap in the existence of these individuals, one of them will disappear from that time period leaving one behind. However, by coming to the present day through a time warp, was there any concern that the King Ghidorah that was used as the base for the Mecha-King Ghidorah would disappear due to overlap with the King Ghidorah that had sunk to the bottom of the Sea of Okhotsk? Even if we could have predicted the disappearance of the King Ghidorah in the Sea of Okhotsk, if that King Ghidorah disappeared, it wouldn't have been possible to convert it into a Mecha-King Ghidorah in the 23rd century. Or was it considered a different individual after it is cyborgized? We will have to wait until the end of the 22nd century, when the time machine is said to have been invented, to solve this mystery."
Glad you finally got a chance to feature this one MIB, been wondering about it for a while. Suddenly i don’t feel so bad for giving away the copy i came across years ago 😄 PS - That is one good looking Gappa vinyl, hopefully we’ll see him again in the future 😉
Great video MIB, and nice you changed the title of this episode. LOL!!! I'm intrigued by this game's existence but never seen any type of footage as of late so thanks for that! But most importantly, the *REAL* reason I'm interested is the inclusion of *BAGAN.* With such a cool concept and development history, This Kaiju that sadly never came to be other than 2 Godzilla toho games (super Godzilla, and this). Also, nice burn at criterion and great ending!!! =P
They should bring him back for the MonsterVerse as an alien kaiju (my guess is that he should be a planet looter dragon worshipped by an invading alien race).
I would have loved this as a kid back in 1998 simply just to watch all of those clips and look at the posters since most of the heisei films weren't released yet. I also loved spiderman cartoon maker as a child, it would have been the icing on the cake if this was similar. Lol that dancing at the end!
I remember buying the "game" when it was new at Media Play. Wasn't until years later via an emualtor (hmm or it was a virtual machine) that I finally had a chance to play it. Couldn't get the movie theater section to work properly so it was nice to see this in your video. The game with its oversized box is sleeping nicely in my closet
Ik this was made last year but I feel like we gotta somehow get Bagan as a character in the show and whenever he enters a room he’s dancing and that theme’s just going crazy in the background
You never fail to make me laugh man, good job! I always wanted to see more of this game. It's always been a very curious thing to me that bagan and dogolas appear in this. Does anyone even know what those pictures are of? Like are they suits/puppets or some conceptual models? What movie would dogolas have been in anyway lol I never found an answer for that.
From TohoKingdom’s DB entry for Dogolas: “The model for Dogolas that appears in the game was a figure created by toy company Kaiyodo Co., Ltd., who is also responsible for such toy lines as Revoltech. However, this figure was never released for consumers.”
Gappasaurus got it covered with the models, they're actually figures created by a toy company from back in the day! While they made the figures of Bagan and Dogolas, the one for Godzilla is a garage kit. As for Dogolas, he is thought to have been made exclusively just for this game according to Shinji Nishikawa, one of the monster concept artists for some of the Heisei and Millennium movies. No mention of it being a scrapped monster, or intended for a movie.
A great video. It sucks that you can't print anything. It shouldn't really matter what kind of printer you have. They had a lot of cool things. And my favorite part was the dancing Bagan.
Another great video MIB! Incase you're ever interested in taking a look at it, there was also a spiderman movie maker based off the 90's series. Also, on the subject of spiderman, in your review of the marvel godzilla comic you mentioned how dissappointing it was to never see spidey face off against goji. That said, I've been wondering what you would have like to see in a fight like that and how you'd handle it. Moreover, continuing off my comics tangent, will you ever review the konga and gorgo comics from charlton? both series are public domain, and funnily enough, were illustrated by steve ditko (co-creator of spiderman).
Yeah never heard anyone mention that Dogolas monster. Just lots of Bagan love. Always love these game reviews Edit: I LOVED that Simpsons game. Many many many hours sunk into that thing
Mr. MIB! Mr. MIB! What will your next Godzilla hit be? How are you enjoying your success with Vs Mothra? And why is your prized possession on its side?
Would like to see Orga review Godzilla's Revenge and the toku movies made by Chaiyo (Jumborg Ace and Giant, Hanuman vs. 7 Ultraman, Hanuman and the Five Riders, The Magic Lizard, and Space Warriors 2000).
Sounds like those awful SEGA CD "games" where you edit bad music clips to bad music video clips, only with Godzilla clips instead to make it more tolerable. But, you know, barely.
2:51, Extreme close up!! WHOOOOOOOA! 4:45, I like the beat its giving off. 5:14, good one. 5:47, whoop! Bagan! Bagan is here. Clicked the video because of Bagan. 6:42, double DOWN and get lucky...to own that poster some roasts! 6:48, good one, yo. 10:27, they really could have given us animated gifs of the Godzilla monsters via blue screen tbh to play with. I feel these animation studio thingies can work by sharing online now. I see some merit in this.
i wait new bagan and dogolas /mecha bagan /mecha dogolas /gappa/mecha gappa/shin bagan/shin dogolas 😎🤔🤔🤔🙂🌋🌩🌩🌧🌧🏝monster island buddies be ready for dark power 💀💀
