I love all Godzilla versions, but this honestly sounds like a mixture of instruments and noisemakers to me. It's not bad, it's fairly coordinated. it's just not as animalistic as some of the others.
@@lindsaychurch8749Well preference to all. Personally I think this is the most natural and clear sounding roar Godzilla has ever had. The other ones sound more like he's thousands of kilometers away. This one sounds right next to your bed and I love that.
I really enjoyed this horror-like take on Godzilla. I'd love to see more films in the Monsterverse with this kind of tone in the future but I think they're pretty committed to the more lighthearted, action-film approach now.
That's because Gareth Evans is Jaws fan, he makes this movie following the shark horror-thriller style. KOTM is the best monsterverse film to my taste, as I still remember my jaw dropped when seeing Gidorah emerge from the storm in Rodan's chase scene, but I could use another horror style Godzilla like this one. The piano stroke adds big chill on my skin witj Big G's entrance.
I think it's just more that's the tone Adam Wingard prefers, and that's fine. I enjoy that each entry in the Monsterverse doesn't completely feel the same.
Sad scene, him being slowly killed. Have always loved the fact Brody saved Godzilla. So lucky he had the initiative to destroy the enemy stronghold and thereby getting the female MUTO's attention. I so hope that when the Monsterverse ends the final scene will be Godzilla with other titans and more importantly, Earths military united beside him, heading towards a threat, no longer a lone warrior.
@@robertbusek30 oh definitely. It just left me wanting more. And then in the next one humans are misunderstanding him again, so the support in KOTM has seemingly gone in GvK. For the final scenes of the series, I'm thinking a sea armada similar to that at the end of Xmen First Class with even more air support than KOTM. And Kong hitching a ride on an aircraft carrier.
I always crank the volume for that roar. My neighbors are so done with me. 🤣🤣 The crowd roar for that in the movie theater was epic too. Those dudes ears should have been RIP'd though.
the hole movie, you can see he is pissed! hahaha the way he looked to male muto before smashing it with his tale, you can hear he saying: thats enough, im had it this m.f. mutos in this m.f. planet!
The way Godzilla kills the female muto in the end is insane and very graphic but it’s still very cool. This is the only reason I watch Godzilla movies and I can’t wait for Godzilla X Kong 😎
I'll never forgot seeing this opening weekend in the theater with a packed house. Never really knew how many Godzilla fans were out there! So much cheering/screaming for G and everyone so thoroughly loved this movie. The airport reveal when we finally get to see all of Godzilla got a Huge pop from the crowd and then the roar had people cheering like crazy. Then that scene where you start to see him powering up for his first Atomic Breath attack was absolutely epic. Then when he bathed that MUTO in atomic fire people went nuts. Epic movie!
Definitely wanna see the new movie but I'm going to miss how the monsters always fought like they weighed a million tons. It made the fights more hefty. Each hit or bite looked like it hurt.
I agree wholeheartedly. In the earlier films they focused on the nature element and I admired that alot. And I felt like with the body language there was more depth and impact. But these last few films are doing too much humanitizing. The damn trailer showed Godzilla doing a damn Mario jump punch on Scylla. And what looks like a very human like jog alongside Kong in the Hollow Earth
@@davidandrade4580Yeah, that's because that movie was shown in the perspective of the titans themselves. Heck, even Kong and the apes looked like normal sized ones by the way they showed them in the movie 😂
@@creeper_00 bruh see I thought it was opposite and did y’all see ghirdorahs head we When he blow up the eggs idk if that was an Easter but go back to the part and you will see what I mean
I love how to shows the female muto as evil, but also a mother As soon as she saw her babys up in flames, she dropped godzilla, possibly seconds away from killing him to check on her babies
@@nickwatzek954 would the military even get close? The MUTO EMP affects even military equipment. The male MUTO will just intercept any missile, he flies almost as well as Rodan. Mama MUTO would chuck Godzillas body in there ready for the infants to feed off the radiation.
@@BiggerBadderBrian the male MUTO is one MUTO. Can he intercept 50 missiles at once? No. The military would’ve blown it up before sunrise. It’s not as complicated or scary as y’all are trying to make it out to be.
I can’t help but wonder what this movie could have been if the the most interesting character in the film hadn’t died, the pacing hadn’t fallen off a cliff right after the airport, or if half the film hadn’t been shot in the freakin’ dark. We’ll always have that airport scene though. 👌
Funny how Godzilla went from slow stomping around, sluggish attacks, and seldom using atomic breath like here to Sprinting towards opponents, jumping on top of them, doing fucking wrestling moves, running like a crocodile, and spamming atomic breath, among other things. I quite like the change though.
Ppl will always love the king of monsters fight and kong fight and any upcoming fights in GxK. But i still love this fight. It may not be hype worthy but it does feel solid and keep u on the edge of ur seat, hoping no one hurts the BiG G himself.
The reveal of his atomic breath by the random light showing from the right and then the slow glow running up his spikes and the build up is one of the most epic reveals I've ever seen in any Godzilla movie and I've seen them all and the modern one here from 14' tops them all
4:37 It feels so weird to see how mysterious and unknown the titans are to the humans in this movie now that we have become so used to seeing the latter so matter-of-fact about the former in the MonsterVerse. 😄
Looking back on it, i fond it hard to believe these Mutos wiped out Godzillas kind. Compared to other Kaiju/Titans, they dont seem to be obsurdly powerful like Ghidorah or Destroyah.
@@JUANxxTNAFAN I'm just saying that Godzilla 2014 had the feeling of a heavy, slow, huge monster. There is no such thing in new films. Similarly, in the film Pacific Rim, the first film showed huge massive machines, in the second film, they began to flutter like butterflies
Indeed, and also the the old monterverse movies felt like more a horror and serious while the new latest like godzilla x kong for example they just turn into cartoony made for cheering children
If you showed me this movie and then you showed me The New Empire, I don’t know if I would believe you if you told me they were from the same series - and that’s not a bad thing, since they’re both good in their own right.
Funnily enough, the MUTOs are behaving like the previous western Godzilla - Zilla from the 1998 movie. They are laying eggs and if they hatched it would likely spell doom for mankind and even Godzilla. 2014 Goji killing the MUTOs and the humans blowing up the eggs like in the 1998 movie kinda feels like an easter egg - the 2014 movie is symbolically killing Zilla, signaling a new beginning for Western Godzilla: the Monsterverse.
First and best movie of them all. Wish they could have kept focusing on the ground perspective and not just Godzilla's point of view. I think this would make the rest of the movies much more enjoyable. They did great with it on the second movie too, however it got a bit more unrealistic.
Honestly dude, they're treating it the same as the MCU did towards the end of phase 3. It's basically the "Ragnarok Effect" Where they go more into the jokes and random light shows then taking the story seriously.
Unfortunately i feel we've far passed the point of return and will be stuck with the new, "flashy" side of the monsterverse. That said im not sure reusing the 2014 style of rarely showing the monsters would've worked for sequels.
Dpending on the writing and realism, having a buildup towards the confrontation and not showing them entirely until it's the right timing would have worked fairly well in Kotm. Saying that we kept Gareth Edward's
The main problem with this movie is we didn't get to see Godzilla fight the MUTOS until toward the end of the movie. That makes for a very boring two hours I'll never get back.
Watching this movie from human's perspective gives you tthe feel of how big the monsters are. It kinda lost its magic, its vibe in the recent movie, with everything seems to be giant , and the monsters just seem... normal. The sense of scale is completely gone in the latest film
My few biggest gripes in this film were kind of uniform... - Every scene with G-man were always at night, and so dark you couldn't make a lot of things out. - As much as I love that roar...every one of those soldiers would straight up be DEAF after it - You want me to believe that in the dark, that the female MUTO saw a single human, who was NOT moving, among all the debris and rubble in the dark?! - The first Atomic Breath looked like it did little more than push the male MUTO back....but the second one had the power to sear off the female MUTO's head?!?
Their eye sight could be different. Secondly its plausible that the FEMALE MUTO’s (He never used it against the male) was very tough on the outside but extremely weak on the inside
Speaking as a zoology major, any organisms that can create an emp would probably also have electroreception (the ability to detect electric fields in the air). Also considering their ability to detect each other and radiation across the planet I don’t think it’s stretch that they could sense one of us a few feet away lol
He shot his breath down it's throat which is different that the exterior body. Duh. And it's a Godzilla movie. Expect the unbelievabe. It's a giant atomic monster stomping everything in it's path. You want realistic watch a reality show. Nevermind. Those aren't even realistic. Guess you're fucked
The buildup to Godzilla’s roar in this scene is absolutely spectacular, but I honestly wish they didn’t cut to that soldier backing away and instead let the windup and roar stay in one consecutive shot, I honestly think it would’ve been infinitely more affective that way but I could be wrong
8:38 When you're at level 99 and you return to the beginning to face level one enemies. Or, when you reach the last boss, and you didn't level up ebough and didnt get the one weapnd that would work.
Imagine my surprise as someone who had never watched a Godzilla movie only the ferris bueller version when G Man started blastin 😂 I’ve since watched the old ones and they’re fun if you can watch Megazord fights then showa Godzilla ages fine
Its kinda crazy how this godzilla went through the great titan war against the kongs and fought ghidorah essentially trapping him in ice🙌 all of this done while he was still slow compared to him in Gvk and GxK😂 its like two different godzillas. I can't even imagine this godzilla(2014) crawling or jumping no less🙌
Imagine Godzilla looking at you just before he roars at female Muto and hearing that growl just before he lets rip 0:28 I would’ve been shitting it like that soldier too 🤦🏽♂️
I like how they made 2014 godzilla because its like a horror movie godzilla is a threat and also muto but they fighting each other not protecting the world only kong is the protector he knows what he do because he is smart
This Godzilla film beared some similarities to the Godzilla 1998 Like: 1. Godzilla's nest, then getting blown off/Mutos nest getting blown off 2. Godzilla following those responsible for killing his young/Muto following Brody for being responsible killing her young.
