I had an OG green TLS which was problem after problem, but by god did i love that thing! The most unjapanese japanase bike i´ve ever owned. The R was much better as it sorted much of the problems out. The rear shock, standard steering damper, fueling, etc.
@@tokyosmash Any chance you tried both the TLR and the VTR? I love the looks of the VTR (the TLR not so much), and i really want a big stupid V-twin race bike - and half the price on the suzuki is kinda tempting... so if it rides close to as well as the VTR, i may just have to live with its looks
There's no reason at all for me to care about this, especially not over my day job, but I cannot stop watching and listening to Al and Chris play about in the shop. Genius. Top content.
Old school? Nowhere near old school, carbs, a piece of tubing and lots of jets, slides, needles etc. That’s old school. No electronics in sight. Quick shifter, move your foot faster…..
@@classicraceruk1337 I've done a lot to my Y2k E1 ZX9r, no electronics needed and it's brutal, and I still have no fitted a jet kit 😎 K&N filter an exhaust (original titanium was very heavy due to two cats), iridium plugs +4 degree ignition advancer, shimmed main jet needles, removed the KLEEN air system and crankcase breather from the airbox and joined the two together, screwed out the fuel screws half a turn. No need for a jet kit, but may do so in the future if I keep the bike, had it over three years and love it to bits, but parts are getting so hard to get. Sad as it is one of the most beautiful and brutal bikes ever made, very underrated despite being the first production bike to do the quarter mile in under ten secs, and that was the heavier earlier C model (lots of changes to improve the ZX9r when the E1 was designed), many modern way too expensive superbikes can't do that.
@@HalfdeadRider That’s far too late for me. I am talking about bikes like Manx Nortons upto Triumph 750cc triples. Pre 1975 ones. The ones allowed to race in CRMC meetings before 1987.
@@HalfdeadRider So you agree the bike they are building is not old school tuning. My thoughts and experiences of course go back way further than your example, many decades in fact. The VMCRC during the period I mentioned goes back even further.
Brilliant stuff 😁 has to be one off the best Dyno men for Suzukis in the UK,, you can tell he has a passion for them,,☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland,, you have built an awesome bike there ,,👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
The wheels do set the bike off a treat 👌 Keep up the great work, guys as the JHS dyno never lies 😜 Maybe the next budget bike battle could be the V twin challenge and slip the TL1000R SRAD in there 🤔
Griff Woolley at AP Workshops needs to dust his off and plug it into mine especially as I have a 3/4 Yoshi system fitted. Whoop whoop!!! Great video by the way James, thank you for doing it and all t’others, they’re WKD. 👊🏻👍🏻
@@FortyFourTeeth hi Al, I'm looking at buying a srad. Just as a second bike. To do some track days and Sunday fun. I know parts are getting less. Is it worth a go. Or what other 90's bike would you recommend. 👍🏼 cheers 🍻
Why would it run rich if the exhaust flows better? I believe previous owners modified the injectors to make it run better with the yoshi and overdid it.
Was that the BHP at the wheel or from the engine? I'm not surprised Fagan had to push hard to get it onto the dyno, didn't give the weight of my 750 SRAD a thought till my mate showed me his similar age R6.
RAM-AIR. They have airflow, but not ramair airflow. To be fair, that´s never accounted on dynos and the difference isn´t massive. Still there, though, that´s for sure
I owned a first gen FI 750 SRAD. Loved it, i´m so glad i owned one. Wasn´t new, but it was decently taken care of and decently worked. Fabulous. The SRAD and a TL1000 were some of my favourite bikes i´ve owned and i was always an european bike enthusiast
Mine ran a PC 3 - dynoed to 130hp, but had hurky jerky cruising at 60kmh was fine slightly on throttle or off but trying to hold it the dam thing was herky jerky. Anyway, I sold my 97 once it started playing up dash died, then came back figured it was time to sell.
I always liked the SRAD. Looking forward to seeing how it does once it’s finished being tuned. I’m with everyone else on this one though. That blue screen has got to go. 😂
How much does ram air effect the fueling when on the road compared to a dyno? If its at 13.0 on dyno woudnt it go leaner to maybe 13.5 at high speed when getting more air pushed in?
a "inhouse duell" between suzuki 125 endurence racer and this 750 cc ...which is more purchase recommendation each of you will publish ? later Yamaha in this battle , or/and ktm ...✌️☘️
My carby '96 750 makes 117hp (118hp on a different dyno on the same day)..... Std motor with std Suzuki jets with a set of (600) Yoshimura Titanium pipes and muffler on it.
At this point, we see your agenda. Blue and iridium screens are coming back, it’s no accident. On AFR, why not go the air route to lean it? Are you maxed on airflow?
What is it with people going on about the "blue screen"? It's a 90's bike that's what they did back in the day. I bought a 750 srad ( now on ebay), it came with just the blue screen, I was going to buy a clear one but when cars started swerving out of my way ( I think they must think.... copper! and panic! Lol). I thought f#ck it and kept it! Actually my wheels ar Al's original ones before he sold it and bought back!😂
Boys my Srad 1998 injection is like ride it for 15 km then have stop like 20 min...the bike feals like 30 more HP for like 1 Km ? what is that Fueal persure problem? :O(
