Once upon a time I wasn't a believer, but the disease of the Rossi squid has crept in. I am changed, I am now a fullcarbon-addict. I promise you all I am okay, just more broke, but mentally stable still.
In all seriousness, this project was something I've been looking forward to for a long long time and I think this has been the single coolest thing I've ever done to my bikes so far. It took me a while to getting to make this video so I'm really glad to finally get it out to you guys too. I was a long tough winter for me and working on the bikes again with this project made it all worth it.
A HUGE thank you needs to go out to Ilmberger Carbon for getting me set up with these fairing kits and building some of the nicest body work and carbon products I've ever seen. Late last year I had reached out and got in touch with Michael who put together everything for me. Simply having someone that would respond everyday or even multiple times a day with real support was what sold me over before I even bought anything. Having support and communication is what means most to me running my own race team like this, so to say that was refreshing is in understatement.
When I finally got all bodywork, to say I was blown away was an understatement. Not just the fit but the quality of the finish and the actual carbon weave was incredible. Even more so the flexibility of the bodywork made it easy to work on. The last thing you want is stiff stiff bodywork making it a pain to fit up every time. I may or may not have already crashed at the time of publishing this video and I may or may not be able to say I did not expect it to hold up so well with what maybe was or was not a low side at 90mph, maybe...... Sooooo yeah it's pretty strong too.
For anyone has ever dealt with race fairings or carbon from another company, you'll know it's 1. a ton of work or 2. nothing lines up at all and 3. paying someone to do it costs more than the actual bodywork. It took me about 15 minutes to get the bodywork on these bikes mocked up and fitted. Maybe another 2 hours of making them perfect and installing the mounting brackets and wind screen. Everything is drilled, everything has the quick release fasteners installed already, and everything fits like its OEM. The only thing not included is the 1/4 turn fasteners, you'll need a handful of 14 and 12 mm fasteners. I got mine from www.kurveygirl.com. There's only two spots that use OEM hardware and thats the corner of the tank and the corner of the belly pan near the rear sets and thats it.
Overall this was one of the best investments I've ever made into my bikes and some of the most exciting mods I've ever done myself. I hope your guys enjoy the video and if you have any questions about the fairings or Ilmberger info comment down below or DM me!
