my kuzzy, my son and I go on a mish to Matauri bay. my kuzzy was actually supposed to jump in the water but I got me and my chair stuck in the sand lol too eager 🤣🤣🤣. so for the next hr or so we spent that time getting me unstuck. by then the sun was going down and the twmp had dropped. so the kuzzy decided not to jump in. but who comes along to save the, doctor lance o'Sullivan, churrrr. Awesome fullah, gave us his whole catch. for ever grateful for that. this was my first time back in over 30 years. what a welcome home. on my mums side I am an Epiha, so if you know Matauri you know the Epiha whanau. so yeah whanooks, hope enjoy this little clip.

Our family used to holiday at Te Ngaere beach every Christmas years ago on the Williams land. The parents are long gone now but think the kids are still there. My dad used to go out fishing with Dover Samuels. Great memories when we were kids, Te Ngaere beach is so commercialised now haven’t been there for years.

Its still a beautiful place. I don't know what it was like back in the days. But I could imagine it would be like now, only with less people. Could be time to take a trip up aye? I Need to pop in and see Dover I think. Thanks for watching.

@@MrRooXs we were just a bunch of kids running wild lol I remember three little baches at the southern end of the beach and another summer one in the paddock near the inlet at the other end. In those days there was only one road in through Matauri bay. It was quiet, only a few campers and those who had money to rent the baches. There were 10 of us kids 12 with mum and dad so we always roughed it in tents, rain hail and storm but they were the best years! Yeah true.....a trip back one day just to re-live those days. Heck...is Dover still kicking?

@@MrRooXs he must be in his 80’s? I wonder if my dad knows he’s still alive his old fishing mate. Dad fished for years out at Bland Bay where he lived for 40 years. He’s 89 now and lives with one of my bro’s and his family in Wellsford, still thinks he’s going to get a new boat and go catch 100 fish long line. The stories get taller as they get older haha
