When we look to Heaven in the future; living in the absence of Christ in us today, we cultivate the habit to avoid and despise fellowship with Christ in suffering today. We won't pray for discipline as disciples; we have need of nothing today because our refinement in the fire is either vaguely finished, or we'll be 'raptured' without it. "I will wear bright robes of splendor in the morning." (I will be clothed in the Character/Righteousness/Spirit of Jesus - tomorrow or at the 2nd coming; not today.) No need to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling by the experience of Jacob's trouble today; once saved today; always saved tomorrow...right? As long as we stay proud and comfortable in sda pride today, we will look to the future to have the wonder of worshiping God as little children in full vulnerability. But as we begin to surrender our pride and identity as sda's and develop intimacy with God in Christ alone; Christ in us as our only true identity, Christ today; not the church of the past as our glory, we can be born again.
