Final walk around of the 2 riding mowers I picked up last week.
The Gray Craftsman was free and I spent about $150 between the bumper kit, carb rebuild, fuel shut off, oil filter, oil, headlight bulbs, selenoid
The Red Troy-Bilt was $250 w/ a dump cart, only 3 years old and needed a good pressure washing, tire plug, fuel shut off, top off the oil, and a few plastic bits.

nice find if you still have them its usually a good idea especially if they're stored outside like the troy built to check under the foot rest rubbers for rust / bubbling paint as water will usually collect along with dirt and sit their .

Good tip, thanks. The only area I found rust that surprised me was under the fuel tank. The paint was bubbled up. The deck was in good shape w/o any issues. I get what you mean, checking underneath the foot rest rubbers is where water would stay and not evaporate. That area was absolutely covered in dirt/dust. I ended up selling the red one this morning for $650. I had about 40 bucks in parts-fuel shut off, oil, headlight socket/bulb, tire plug,
