Just went through a bank acquisition and I was on the acquired side. My role is the same but the way it generating business isn’t. Most on the acquired side are now leaving as are customers, as expected. Change is hard for humans. This video is great and is a very similar approach that I’ve taken, it truly helps. A calm mind, positive approach, and most importantly patience are key.

The company I worked for was recently bought out.. My manager said "It's not a big deal, don't panic and everything's going to stay the same, but she sounds very stressed. She's stopped cracking jokes and talking about mundane things like her driveway. I would read between the lines of you're manager's and Upper management behavior. Mine are sounding super upbeat and telling everyone to stay put. If their starting to sound stressed then I think big changes are on the way.

Sounds like you are dialed in- always pay attention.

Why not talk about it? Why not inform, network and communicate with fellow employees? Companies can let you go without warning. No notice, no severance. Happens all the time in mergers.

It depends upon your position, your prospects etc. Redundancy is common in mergers- you want to maintain your value.

I work in Property Management. A random person came in today to “take inventory for all communication lines for a property takeover.” I asked if this was for an acquisition, he said yes and his boss confirmed. My boss denied it and said they don’t know what they’re talking about. I have no idea what will happen. I live on site and am trying not to stress.

My company is going through an acquisition. I am the only manager in my market that survived. What can I expect? I'd love some advice.

Is there any way to find out what the benefits package are for a company? I.E. retirement, insurance, PTO.

Hi @Ann - This information should be provided but if it is not then ask your employer and if they do not have that information get a contact at the other company and ask them. Public companies usualy disclose this but private ones are not required to - but you have a need to know.
