Yall should remove the shrink wraps and just put the vinyl in outer sleeves. Wrap can sometimes warp the records it it's too tight. Not often, but it happens.

I got to say your girlfriend's got some great choices such as Wolves in the Throne Room, Borknagar, Amorphis, Insomnium, Bathory, Dark Tranquillity, and Xanthrochroid.
Wintersun Forest Seasons is SUCH a banger. You will definitely appreciate the massive Summoning influence done with instrumental and production mastery.
It's a running joke between friends of my wife and me that it's very easy to spot who's LPs are who's in my house. If you pull one off the shelf and the predominant color isn't black, or if you can easily read the name or the band/artist, it probably isn't mine. Also, the subsection with entire Billy Joel discography is understood to not be mine either.
That Ifing album rules. Certainly stands apart from the rest of the collection here. My wife is a big fan of Eluveitie as well, it's permanently in our car rotation.

Dude, Borknagar is a band that's been through some ups and downs over the years, but has delivered some really good albums in all their stages (and some not that great, truth be told). True North was great, but the standout-track Up North was a KILLER!

Borknagar is A GREAT BAND! Though, I prefer their stretch of discography with Vintersorg on the mic over their previous material with ICS Vortex (who re-assumed being their frontman in light of Vinter's departure), but "True North" is a great album! Vintersorg led them into the more melodic/progressive sound they have now.
True north by Borknagar is my bands favourite album yet. And Folkensage is just an epic magical album so good. Saor latest album origins is a true masterpiece. Happy New Year people.
This video made me pick up myrkur . Giving what you said about their style and mentioning ulcer I gave it a chance. Some of the earlier material had some black metal sounds . I’m not looking for that . I am looking for something mellow as I call it campfire music . That’s why I really enjoy ulcer kveldsianger . Do you have any other recommendations in that style of music? Also you never answered why your arm is tattooed black. If it is because of past political ideology just say it . I would never judge I’d probably agree. That was funny! Wolves is a weird one for me cause I live in the area, mutual friends seen them since the start blah blah blah. New one is solid I would say give it a chance. I need to give two hunters a try, by that point of its release I was already getting more irritated with their existence than I should have been. For reference I use to see them at the Manium, now known as Cryptatropa. Basically anyone whose come through the PNW in the metal and goth scenes knows what I am talking about. Borknagar-Quintessence is a brilliant album! one of my favorites in high school. Really suggest diving into them, Garm was once the vocalist and did guest vocals on that Borknagar album she has. Older stuff is more traditional, honestly man I would say you as a Black metal fan its one of the top ten bands you should be more familiar with! And that Ifing album is fucking sick! No joke better than 90% of the Black metal bands you have ever mentioned. DAMN SON! Along with Teloch from Mayhem, Garm and the original Ulver guitarist were on that early Myrkur album. That is why it sounds like Ulver, it kind of IS them to a degree! But that newer stuff is just folk, not bad really if you like folk music, as I do. But I also get why people got sick of the media hype around her.
You're a lucky man. I have to listen to U2 and Billie Eillish every single day. Not that I hate those artists but can't you switch it up once in a while. I would take some Duran Duran and Smashing Pumpkins right about now. Cheers, great show metal brother!
I really like Isengard but haven't gotten around to listening to the new album. Vinterskugge & Høstmørke are good. Actually taking a quick gander at Vårjevndøgn, it surprisingly isn't amazing. Now I remember why I never did end up getting that CD.
Better than my wife's collection - which is a big fat zero. She hates my 'music' and just listens to 80s on the radio - which to be fair I can tolerate as I grew up on it.

@@Malaneth There are 3 MILLION Saunas in Finland, including many very nice public ones, that's not an excuse. And if Jari could already afford to build a Sauna, then why did he use fan funds meant for the production of the album (which wasn't Time II as marketed and promised to the fans putting up funds, which was misleading to many and part of the problem though the forest album is good) to do so instead? It's called misappropriation. Not as scummy as the Blake Judd/ Battle Kommand and Ascension Monuments fiascos, but it's cruising on that same principle.

no offense, but checking out someones record collection of albums you have mostly never heard of any of the records or the bands - maybe you should have waited a little on this - just saying. theres a few albums here that are good, insomnium and amorphis are my favorites, also wardruna and borknagar i like too- forest seasons is actually a good album
