I'm a trans guy too, been on T for 5 years as well. I'm intermittently open and visible because of the same reasons. Although I don't necessarily agree with the term, I'd say I "pass" in most situations and can avoid abuse by just not acknowledging my identity online. One of my fondest memories was the time a person created a hit piece on their blog about me stating that "I might be a tr*nny now, but I'll always be a b*tch" because I ghosted/blocked them.
