Love these holiday vlogs so much!! Nature is such a beautiful thing and the shots you got of the full moon & glittering moon were so magical. I feel so homely after this and hope your both doing okay x
I'm so glad you got to experience full moon there because it's literally one of my favorite things about living in northern Finland (well basically anywhere with snow)!
As a Brit living in Canada I learned the hard way how importantl dressing for real cold is - Goose down filled Parka with big hood , Waterproof lined mid calf boots with good grips , thermal waterproof gloves . Scarf or neck warmer and woollen hat. Waterproof lined pants, wearing multiple thin layers top and bottom . thermal cotton and cashmere sweaters that breathe. Lip balm, sunscreen and shades.
The plane clapping was definitely a bigger thing like 10 years ago I feel, maybe also a tourist thing? When I was a kid, everyone always clapped when the plane landed for summer holidays etc but I haven’t had any plane clapping on any flights I’ve been on in Europe over the last five years, I always thought it had gone out of style or something, so interesting to know it still happens 😂
I’ve only known landing clapping once on a turbulent return flight from USA, but I would happily clap both take off & landing as think both are absolutely amazing (I get tears on take off, not gonna lie) ❄️🌟❄️
I'm from the UK too and fly to Spain and Portugal often (pretty much always easyJet) and I can't really remember a time people clapped. I don't fully understand it, even if the landing is good I feel like the pilot must know we're grateful even without clapping. Lapland looks amazing 🎄
I'm definitely a clapper. We've been traveling back and forth from the States to Greece since I was baby and have been clapping ever since I learned how!
you forgetting your coat on the plane reminded me.. back in 2014 my mum picked me and my siblings up from school and drove us to the airport as a surprise for the christmas holidays.. next thing we knew we were in minus 20 degrees in helsinki and then lapland in our school skirts😅 the best memories!
It usually happens in Canada too! Yes, I've asked and they say they can hear. You should hear if it's been a scary landing, everyone hoots and hollers. This also happens in the US when I have flown there, but honestly haven't gone in about 5 years.
This is so strange because I literally have just come back from our holiday in the Arctic. Been to Santa land a few Christmases ago, hope you had a good time despite dianne’s COVID.
I actually saw you guys at the sunset spot just off levi and you guys were so cool just normal people and reaally nice! So glad you enjoyed lapland and hope you saw the northenlights like you asked ;)
I would love to spend Christmas in Lapland! It looks amazing! I'm from Denmark and I have only experienced clapping when landing in a plane once, in the US from Florida to Atlanta. I have never experienced it when I was flying in Europe, Asia, or Africa. So I didn't think people did that anymore, but fun to know that it still happens :D
In New Zealand (especially flying into wellington) if there has been heaps of turbulance just before the landing then people will clap when we land. The wind can be so strong in Welly that the plane tips side to side as you approach the runway... they call it the wellington wave
Reindeer meat is sold all year round in Norway. Og has little to no taste without any seasoning. If you season it right and have a good sauce to it its amazing.
Catching up with your vlogs and it would be amazing to see Finland. My best friend is from Finland, so one day hopefully she will show me around to amazing places.
Great vlog! Hope you enjoyed the trip! In Russia and Belarus we clap. Every European country I've been to - people clap. In America, nope, no one claps (at least I haven't seen that happen)
I've been on a holiday twice this year with the plain, within Europe (to Portugal and Croatia from the Netherlands) and no clapping, thankfully lol haha
This was cool to watch as a Finnish person. I've been following you and Zoe for like 10 years and it's weird to see you in my home country. I do study in London too so it makes me think it's even weirder as you are in Finland and I'm in England lol XD
You actually went to the Artic Circle WITHOUT A WINTER COAT????? 😳🙄🥶😱 ...Put your hood on, cover your ears...geeeeeez!!! Sooooo beautiful...the filming in the forest, surreal., like a painting by Tom Thompson....On flights from Montreal going down south, some people clap after the landing ..mostly those wearing very loud t-shirts/shorts and flip flops, even when it's -15C and snowing when they leave...😂PARTY TIME ALL THE TIME
We had a really heavy landing, could of landed in the sea directly next to the runway, and the pilot came over on the intercom and was like I think we landed… I think we landed 😂😂😂😂😂 so we clapped as were just glad to not be in the sea and glad the plane and us were in one piece, holiday was eventful before we even got out the plane 😂😂😂😂
That sounds terrifying but also hilarious 🤣. I’d say that beats my experience of the pilot missing the runway while landing in Mazatlan Mexico for a spring break vacation. He landed way too early and we touched ground in the desert.
I’m from Puerto Rico where we traditionally clap when the plain lands, but it’s not for the Pilot. It’s just in celebration that nothing went wrong and we have finally arrived to our destination.
Oh, don't worry about the reindeer that end up on the dinner plate... they're Santas rejects. They can't fly, they can't pull a sled, they aren't cute. They're really not of any use at all, except being roasted and served with a side of mash.
