Thank you to whoever is carrying on Nelson’s legacy through this channel. I’ve been watching periodically for over a year now, I go through spurts of binging these videos. I’m going to New York City for the first time in a few weeks, and I am going to visit his home! I love how they have carried on his spirit and turned it into an art gallery, and dedicating the 3rd floor to his life and work!

@@2cautious Ahhh, yeah. The 90s were really great. Do you remember the fidget spinner craze a couple years back? That's exactly what the 90s was like all the time. It was also full of uplifting movies and stories that didn't have to have an agenda other than to make you feel like you could do anything you put your mind to. Everyone felt empowered instead of offended. The world seemed to run a lot smoother, and there was no social media to exhaust people with apathy and stupidity. A lot of us 90s kids I think still have hope for the future because we know what the world can be like when society is properly functioning. I think we'll get there again. :)
@moccalou
@moccalou 3 года назад
@@2cautious Yeah, I agree with all you said. I think a lot of people are getting tired of social media and starting to take breaks from it. There's just too much toxicity out there when you're joined with the entire world. The 00s and early 10s were great too. Instead of being connected to the entire world as a tiny blip on the radar like you are now with social media and Reddit, online forums and bulletin board systems reigned supreme in those decades. You kind of got paired together with just a few people instead of thousands for one particular interest. There was more emphasis on individuality and self-expression with profile pictures, and the information and images you could put in your profile. It was a lot easier to see the same people every day and make friends and bond with them. The internet was a lot more like a small town where everyone knew your name rather than the giant metropolis it is now. I'm hoping that in 10 years from now we'll figure out again that it means more to have a small group of close friends rather than to have the most clout with millions of people you'll never know. And hopefully the world off the internet won't be so affected by mob mentality anymore because everyone feels included and able to thrive without trying to affect other people's lives from outrage culture.

I keep noticing little things in his videos . Not to sound crude but have you ever noticed on the streets and parts there are almost no overweight people ? Walk those same streets and go to clubs and it's very noticeable. Not body shaming just I guess people didn't have as many bad food options or no internet or TV made people GO OUTSIDE and get around to have fun .

There was TV, there just weren't as many devices and ways to make people addicted to spending time on them, therefore parents couldn't use them as babysitters.

@johnjoseph4295

It might be drugs, because he certainly looks old for his age of 41 at the time of his death

There are rumours . Some say he did coke the last night with a party guy that came over. Then i heard he died from smoking some weed he thought made him feel funny ...maybe laced so it could been that to . Then again they eat 90% of their food at diners so high cholesterol. I must say it seems weird the circumstances around his death are so murky ..just a heart attack ? He seemed in ok shape to just die like that . Also the fact no one has publicly said what happened that night in detail tells me the circumstances may have been drug related and no one wanted to get in shit so they kind of covered it up . Only ones who know are ru Paul and ladie bunnie and whoever came over after he shut off the camera that last time .
