Gojira - Born In Winter drum cover, off of the album L'Enfant Sauvage. This song is undoubtedly one of my all time Gojira favorites. The verse groove is so tasty and complex and was truly a pleasure to learn. The non-linear song structure works so damn well with the juxtaposition of quite and calm with heavy and intense parts. I'm considering doing a lesson video on the verse groove if any of y'all are interested.
I don't have good enough pedal speed so I used my floor tom as a bass drum hit during the bridge/breakdown part. I think it still fit the song okay. You know damn well I threw a Bleach Bypass filter on the video to give it a creepy feel. I love this song and hope I did Mario Duplantier's drumming justice. More Gojira on the way - stay tuned!
