Gojira - Lowlands (Reaction) 

This song is indeed about death, the passing of their mother in fact. The video was shot in their family house in the south of France. Their mother was a spiritual person and she asked them to simply get together and have a bonfire to celebrate her memory. I like how the song mixes both acceptance and anger in the face of the passing of a loved one.

I'm mad that no other channels react to this song, it's such a masterpiece

Awesome reaction. I have the same feeling about something unique in the sound of Gojira. It`s hypnotizes me in some way. You should try Gojira - Shooting Star (BBC Radio1 Rock Show). This version has much deeper sound than the studio one.

Thanks for having the courage to react to this. Joe and Mario's mother passed away during the making of this album and this song is their tribute to Mom. To my understanding this was filmed in their childhood home. The woman in the photo is their mother and the woman seen in the video is a representation of her. "Tell me what you see in the afterlife..." powerful deeply rooted song.... Be of sound courage and faith, sir!

As a FYI: this video was shot in the part of France they come from (South West, just north of Bayonne / Biarritz). And if I'm not mistaken, that house is the house in which they lived as kids -can also be seen in the L'Enfant Sauvage video. Also cool to hear a few words in French in this one :D

Nice choice! A rich and mournful song, and the video is fantastic... the dress and toy hanging from the tree... the running faucet... memories of their mother. And the lack of instruments at the end, around the bonfire, is vulnerable of them. Air guitar and drums! Wolf Down the Earth would be worth your time for your next Gojira reaction.

Great reaction! It is actually very tough to suggest appropriate song after so powerful and meaningful track like Low Lands. If you would like to listen to something musically similar to this one you can try Magma song, I am very curious about your opinion on this song. But if you would like to back to Gojira heaviest stuff i would love to see your reaction on Remembrance. Mario did incredible work on drums in this one!

Their riff and drum pattern ideas are so out of the box thinking, it's like lets have a very unique sound and push to the top.

Magma and Pray from the same album are great

To me, parts of it has a psychedelic Beatles or Floyd vibe. Pretty bad ass song. Ima huge Gojira fan but I maybe heard thia song once or twice. It grows on ya each time I listen to it.

Already knew Gojira (évidemment). They are a great band. SHould listen to them more often... too much music... not enough time :(

Not their best album and we are all hoping that the new one will be as good as the old ones (but I doubt)
