Ahh~ you should have definitely included the part just before she gets up and yells at him- the part where Mei mei immediately asks Gojo if he’d comfort Mei mei too if she cried which intentionally emphasizes that Gojo asking Utahime if she’s crying in fact implies that he cares even though he says it mockingly (he’s not really known to be that emotional so his demeanor makes sense). So Mei Mei picks up on this air where he singles only Utahime out asking her if she’s crying (or indirectly if she’s hurt) after boldly declaring that HE’S come to save her, NOT THEM lol 🥲🥺 It’s also so cute that he is the first one heroically there to destroy that mansion and free her from it 😂
Well the translation is the one emphasizing that he came to save just -her-. In japanese is not implied, it's kinda like "We/Me/Us have come to help/have you/all". Although I love that the translator gave us this gojohime moment❤
@@arystsan632 yes, I know Japanese :) I just meant that his demeanor was such that it was suggestive that he’d come all the way there to save her. He was the first one there before everyone and was also speaking directly to her. I do know there was ambiguity in his statement when he spoke to her, but that’s just usually how Japanese is anyways. The air around them though was quite obvious though.

As somebody said in the „Gojo x Utahime moments” video: Gojo adressing Utahime by first name (cause her first name is actually Utahime and last name is Lori) is significant. In Japanese culture it is of great importance actually. That is why Utahime means a lot for him decisively. And i absolutely love it

People get overexcited over the call with Uta lasting 3-4min when it wasnt in the manga... so neither of your examples prove much. And yes Gojo cares about non sorceres, before hes sealed surrounded by people is a good example on how he sees non sorcerers

In s1 when asked to describe his type he says something "i like girls like that nice one with the bangs" and Utahime goes through all the students trying to match that description -that matches HER- until she lands on Miwa and Gojo says "sure, her" 🤦

I'm aware this is meant to be focused on gojo saving/helping utahime, but I want to believe that shoko and even geto wanted to help out as well. That they also care about their lil senpai they love to tease. And imagine how far and long the trio traveled (train, taxi, car..stopping by every possible shrine to check if they're there) to look for utahime (and mei mei) since the two had been missing for two days. It's not too difficult to understand why the trio failed to put up a curtain - they were worried for utahime (and mei mei). I think it's endearing to witness the camaraderie (before it all fell apart after this).

i think what he means is that using his powers to cause large scale destruction like that mansion is difficult for him. And it gets harder if there's vectors (objects, people) that he needs to take care of at the same time. So what he means is that it was hard for him to destroy the mansion but also make sure Utahime wasn't harmed by it. And we can see she's in the center of the destruction and there's not a single scratch on her..which proves Gojo made sure to momentarily put his infinity around Utahime to keep her safe as he destroyed the entire mansion. I hope i'm making some sense 😅

From Gojo point: I have a theory that Gojo like Utahime but he doesn’t acknowledge it or choose to ignore. Due to the fact that he is not supposed to be vulnerable. For instance, the real relationship he had ever had was with Geto, his one and only 😢… (every time i think about Gojo and Geto i always get teary) And at some point Gojo have to kill Geto😭😭 but the scene after was Gojo appearing happy (for Yuta) and look like he just killed some random dude not his bestfriend. Deep down i know he love Geto but knowing that he did the right thing, he overcome it for the time being. Which is why😭 Gojo is so good at hidding his vulnerability. All he is thinking abt is his dream as the strongest and all the responsibilities. (JJK was such an depressing anime. Gojo and every other character was all victim of the higher up and overall the JJK world. They was dehumanized.) From Utahime point : I think if Gojo flirted and act like he actually likes her she would definitely like him back soon or later. But the reality is Gojo just act like a bully and disrespectful to Utahime. She is a logical person too so these thing she wouldn’t give it a second thought. To her Gojo is annoying brats. Sadly, i don’t have anymore hope for the ship because Gojo are gone and the last thing we see them with each other is for a fight with Sukuna.

It's not that complex, really. The strongest are always alone, even if for some miracle Utahime and Gojo went out together, Utahime wouldn't be able to truly understand Gojo unless she steps up as the strongest alongside him. The communication of love can only happen between those who are considered the strongest, that's why Gojo wanted to teach love to Sukuna, and how Geto and Gojo became close friends because both of them were the strongest in their 17y.

Idk why some female characters in JJK is look cute and happy when they were young, but look sad and tired when they are adult. I mean look at utahime and shoko, Utahime facial expressions is more lively when she was still a student. And Shoko looks always tired when she becomes the school doctor. But this thing is never happened to Mei Mei
That usually happens when you have to care for others. Utahime and Shoko are basically support characters, so it's to be expected. Mei Mei is all about herself, so of course she would look more lively.
adding on to the other commenter: uta is a teacher and shoko is a doctor. both of them had experienced loss of their friends ever since they were young, and now with their professions that basically deals with other people, there’s still a sense of fear that comes with the responsibility of taking care of people especially in their world. uta is a teacher that has to teach her incredibly young students how to properly do things safe and secure or else they’ll die (which basically has happened already) and shoko has to tend to injured people and even the dead. even if they are used to it, repeatedly seeing and knowing that the people you know are in constant danger is unimaginable and will definitely stress you out. that’s why their bad habits become a sense of coping mechanism too: shoko with her smoking and utahime with her drinking.
