Just celebrated my 47th anniversary. Wore my mother’s hand made gown and am proud of that. HOWEVER, watching this man do his loving, kind and wise magic with so many women, I would love to shop with him and renew my vows in “my own” gown chosen from his store with his help, what a blessing that would be. I have 3 years to convince my husband 🤞🏻

I feel like the mom at the end didn't truly love the dress, but Gok nailed it when he pointed out she was holding onto her own princess vision. I think she changed her perspective and said it was a "test" to let go of her vision and support her daughter's.

One of the best things about this version of syttd is how they pin up the dresses to see what it would look like after alterations. In the other versions they only use big clips in the back but here they pin the sides and back so well and it gives such a clear picture.

Gok seems to be the only one who has an idea that the dresses (which are going to be tailored anyway, they won't usually take the sample dress) can be altered to flatter the bride. Add a halterneck strap! Make the strapless gown a Bardot neckline! Add sleeves! Add roses (no)! Try... I understand that some designers seem to have a "no changes to the design" clause. But why don't the other consultants do that? Some dresses only need a little something to be right- even perfect!

Aunts Goks background is as a stylist and I think that’s the difference. What Gok deals with first is the woman’s vision of her own body.

Agree with all the stylist comments- Gok is very “this is your dress, your vision”. if he can’t find what you’re seeing in your head (& I love when they catch that wheels turning thinking look he gets), he basically reminds the bride that a dress can be used as the base to be embellished and created to her dream gown. Randy might be the same if he wasn’t tied to Kleinfeld quite so much. I think the store restricts him a little. Best thing Randy did was to go back to designing and listening to the brides. But he (Randy) still needs more creative flexibility.

Also, have you noticed that Gok doesn't just clip dresses at the back, he actually pins the dresses in multiple locations to give the most flattering silhouette to the brides and give them a better idea of how the dress will look when it's fully tailored. He clearly has the eye of a designer and it's one of the reasons he's the best at this.

Gok is hands down the best. He patiently takes time to understand the bride get to know her. He takes is time to find the perfect dress for the bride. He always shows dresses that are in the bugdet unlike the other stores. In every other store sometimes they just show things that are over budget and the bride falls in love with the dress and is disheartened when she finds out its over budget. Gok is the best and we all know it.
