Crunchyroll dropped this episode subtitled 15 minutes early! I don't know if itll be that way every week, but keep an eye out if you're watching it on that platform.
I'm know that these episodes have the same length of any anime episode but they feel shorter I don't know why maybe it's because I'm enjoying them too much 😭😭
Man the fight in the bar was PURE Jackie Chan. The way Goku was using the dishes, and eating his burger while he fought! The gag when the demons axe got stuck on the ground after trying to attack! Excited to see more of this kinda of action and hopefully we see Goku use his Nyoibo/Power pole more in the future!
There’s something nostalgic about seeing Goku drop bad guys without ki blasts and using hand to hand combat and his surroundings. Dragon Ball style. IYKYK.
My favourite thing about this episode that we're learning about the "Third Makai". Some of the lore stuff. Like exporing the Demon Realm is one of the main reasons why i'm hyped and wanted to watching Daima every week. New world, new exploring area it was amazing. Like in the OG. Of course the animation was peak like the greal lvl on animation of this show just make me waiting for the 4th episode.
That was the worst part because it just means we're going to have to watch more of this generic fantasy world with generic goons in them. I'm so bored.
Seeing that statue of Dabura really made it seem like he wasn’t as bad of a person as we saw in the Buu arc lol Edit: I know he was under Babidi’s control, but so was Vegeta and he retain most of his self. But maybe Dabura is really a benevolent being seeing there’s not all bad people in the demon realm, I can picture him being like a Hercule type figure, but actually with the strength to back it up.
He was different unmajinized( In Dbm a Universe where Babadi won Dabura got unmajinized and made Babadi a Statue and him and Buu went back to the Demon Realm.)
@@sirpoppington1 A Fanmanga called Dragonball Multiverse that came out many years ago and was akso the end of the Majin Rebellion arc that was caused by Babadi. Dabura in that Universe got his Revenge on Babadi for Majinzing him
my guess is dabura's pride and will power was not as strong as vegeta so fell victim to the darkness in his heart that babadi's spell amplifies as part of the spell
I really loved this Episode ALOT. This felt really reminiscent of Episode IV, I knew it for sure when they went to the bar with Glorio. Speaking of Glorio, that dude has STYLE.
Fun fact about heavy gases IRL, Venus has a layer thick heavy gas near the surface that's almost like being underwater. So in this episode with the slow arrows, it's like they're shooting under water, even if the demon realm 3 is under higher gravity the atmosphere could support the weight of things somewhat. Assuming that much thought even went into it.
With the gravity I think they explained it as the air being heavy because of the gas from the floating volcanoes, could make for a fun side thing to destroy for the Kakorot game
When they warped all the way to that matrix between realms, i instantly thought about Star Wars aswell and the hyperspace travel from the starships in SW. This episode was heavy on SW influence but also RPG heavy because DQ also plays with realm travelling. Again, another episode that had new lore, some comedy and action which was quite good when Glorio start to getting into the action. Did you notice Glorio actually bended that demon arm by just grabbing his finger ? It was incredible and i know what's the background of Glorio in terms of fight because he sure can hold himself than just his gun.
It wasn't the gravity that was different in the third demon world, it was the gas. They specifically mentioned that it was because of the gas from the volcanoes making the air heavy that they had to fly slowly or the plane would fall apart. This is gonna play a role in later episodes, I'm sure.
The hamburgers in the Third Demon Realm remind me of the black bun burger that Burger King tried to do in like... I don't remember the exact year, but it was approaching Halloween in a year before Covid-19 and things like that, and Burger King tried to promote in conmercials and things like that, but anyway, that is what those Third Demon Realm hamburgers remind me of.
You’re right about it being inspired by Star Wars. The entire Granola arc reminded me heavy about it. It’s a slow burn but I’m loving the animation. How that Goku is adapted to the air, I can’t really for the better fights!
Were you not paying attention? Because it was stated multiple times not with the gravity, it’s the gas making the air thicker. There is a significant difference between the two.
I'm hoping this show is also acting as a sort of trial run for Toei Animation. A shorter mini series is a perfect way to hone their animation style for when they eventually bring back Super. Regardless, this series looks incredible in its own right, and I hope they keep this style for all future projects. It's a perfect blend of every era of Dragonball.
Getting plane jacked was funny. They officially entered the Demon Realm through Warp's southern exit. Anyone remember that line from the Buu saga. I felt like there should have been a joke there. The gravity is not different; the air is just heavier due to the volcanoes spewing gas. Also, Glorio said that the gas was harmless. One thing I did not get that was mentioned in the episode was the whole pin number thing. According to the episode you have to submit an application to get a pin number. So, who is this application submitted too and approved by?
@@digunder14No, Daima is simply trash. There's no way Zamasu who despised mortals AND demons comes from the demon realm, no matter how much Daima is going to try butchering the lore.
@@_Seru_ it is not trash, if you don't like it, that is fine, but don't lie or make such piss poor judgements before it is even half way through telling it's story
@@digunder14 It is trash. The most childish DB series in existence with no stakes, no good villains and with multiple awful retcons and plotholes in just 3 episodes.
12:51, it's actually pink, blue, and yellow. There is no green "portal" and they went to the yellow portal. The yellow portal was the 3rd world that they went to.
That gag with Goku calling Warp a goldfish is similar to how as you said with Kaio-Sama worrying about how Goku speaks to Beerus and then went on to be Beerus freaking out over how Goku would speak to Zeno. But this goes back even further to when Kami-Sama was worried about Goku upsetting Enma Daio by speaking rudely. Feels like we're back in 2015 with these episode reviews, good times.
I think this was one of my most favorite episodes since that one in Z where ssj Gohan was just wandering around after leaving the time chamber. I how this episode was just so casual. Building lore without all the constant tension that was in most of Z and Super. I'd love it if, they keep more episodes. The whole segment where they go to the hotel; the low key threat; the hand off of the keys and then the shots outside at night of the bar before casually just ordering food and drinks. I hope more episodes are this nonchalant in nature
I really enjoyed this episode allot very star wars like, i like Glorio as a character and Goku fighting these demons with a hamburger was so funny yet awesome.
didnt realize how much i missed dragonball, but damn i like this series a lot already, not saying it's perfect, but im really enjoying everything so far
What did Glorio mean by "Don't ask" when Goku asked what meat the hamburger was 😂 Glorio is still suspicious though. When the Supreme Kai asked what work he has in the the First Demon Realm, all he said was "This and that."
I've seen people saying glorio calling shin a "glind" or whatever is a retcon as they're actually core people. but what I currently say is: core people could potentially just be like using a geographical indicator such as "american people" or "japanese people" etc, and glind could be their actual species name, the way we're all "human". or maybe it's the other way around. maybe they have multiple species names - considering this is a franchise where people can destroy planets effortlessly, a species having multiple names isn't too farfetched. maybe glind is a family name, or a job title, or even a slur. I don't think it's fair to complain that it's a proper retcon until they prove its a retcon through statements such as "glind is THE species name" or something like that.
Ssj Gogeta been my favorite character before the game now I know he’s getting a lot of hype now but I been a favorite of this fusion Transformation 🔥🦍🔥
For me the demon realm lacks imagination. Switch though demons with humans and it would look like earth with the bars, inns, bed etc. Makes Goku the only strange species there ignoring appearance.
loving the sound design and music. The pacing is a little rough. They should be past the intro now so hopefully by next episode we get some more development
At the beginning part where they first enter the demon world, for some reason, it reminded me of some of the areas from Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Even the troll looking creatures that were shooting arrows at Goku reminded me of the Bokoblins and Mokoblins from Breath of the Wild.
14:44 I instantly thought of Xenoverse 2 how they have a massive hologram of the hero striking a pose in the middle of the city. At times watching Daima I feel like we're in that universe and that at some point Towa, Demigra, Mira or Fu are going to pop out, obviously not, but Daima is so different to Z or Super that it's the only thing I can compare it to.
I’m pretty sure it’s the gas that makes everything heavier not the gravity, so it might be something to allow for Goku to naturally become stronger as they progress.
I think it’s fair to say a lot of us are pleasantly shocked and just how much better this debut is than the original DBS run. From the animation, music score & its placement, down to the unique story. Despite initially having a bleak outlook, I am incredibly pleased with the way it is going. I will gladly pay $20 to see the first 3 episodes in theaters next week 😅
I liked this episode. Gave me an One piece vibe, in a good way. Animation was awesome. I think Glorio is up to something. I liked the volcano = garlic/onion smell pun. I like DAIMA so far. Keep up the contend.
I love the adventure vibe! Reminds me so much of dragon ball! Ive been wanting a power down and more hand to hand combat! Excited for more! Good job geekdom!
The demon realm gas will be necessary for the super sayan 4 transformation, just like the blutz waves were needed in gt. That's how they will tie in this new form on the continuity before super.
Not that I'm complaining because I'm RIGHT there with him but Geekdom's inner wrestling mark was really coming out this episode. This episode was awesome!
I'm thinking now the demon world and it's three worlds are flat out in U7, they're in the point, and it's a cone/point because the three worlds are stacked on top of one another and that's why a hole in the ground takes you to the next one down. Warp-sama is just a realm for warping who's outside the universe, not the demon world or connected to it specifically. If Kai come from the 2nd level, the idea makes sense that rotted fruit that are the demon world kai get thrown down, and then Kai get to come up through the third demon realm into the mortal/active universe. With them and Namekians now both being from the demon world and the Kai fruit story in tact, I turn back to my earlier crazy theory - maybe the Namekian tree of life featured on Orange Namekians is related to, if not straight up IS the tree the Kai came from.
To be honest I'm liking Daima a LOT, even tho I wanted Super to come back but I will watch it til the end just because it was Toriyama's final work. If Super comes back we really need that Goku VS Beerus match up, I liked that idea so much that I just made a song about it (check it out if u like metal!!!)
World building is on point. Beautiful animation + art and cool bar fight choreography done with Goku; Feels like we are back to Dragonball but now Toriyama had an even finer method with his world-building, humor, and fighting sets. The stupid Toriyama jokes are so silly they’re funny lol. Gonna miss how his work would’ve evolved even more, once we run out of his new content.
Unless I missed something they didn’t say anything about the gravity, the issue was that due to the gas the air was thicker. Higher gravity would be pulling him down the thicker air would be closer to fighting underwater
He’s too focused on getting his reviews out first he won’t even wait for it to be subtitled. He’s literally watching in Japanese and trying to guess what they are saying lmao.
