Vegeta going super Saiyan 1, gohan going ss2 and Goku going ss3 for the first time are probably the best moments of DBZ that I absolutely love and gonna keep them in my heart forever. Unreal how uplifting DBZ can be.
@@popeye697 yeah goku going ss1 was great but it was kind of "expected", unlike with Vegeta or Ss3 goku which came to a surprise. Well at least for me. Ss2 Gohan was forced by Cell and Goku and we could expect something is up.
Now this......this is perfection. Too bad this form is basically forgotten but it shall always be my favorite. As a kid it's like you could feel the power through the screen 🔥🔥😤
@@philippebrebion6203 It wasn't because of the hair that it was so hard to draw SSJ3, it was because of the facial expressions. "Super Saiyan 3 Goku was tough. I didn't mind his bushy hair; it was his facial expressions. Even though his face had changed, I had to draw him so that you could still tell it was Goku, and that was tough. I had to draw him strongly thinking 'This is Goku!' (laughs). Also, though I liked Goku as a boy, I was still pretty green at that point, so I had trouble with him too. With animation, you have to make it look like the characters are moving in 3 dimensions, but it's difficult to convey that with round lines." Source: Interview of the Character Designer/Animation Director Tadayoshi Yamamuro.
As I recall, his power destroyed Frieza's base during the Namek saga. When Frieza's goons scanned Goku's energy, it completely blew up the machine along with the base. They were on Frieza's planet when it happened, which is exactly a three days journey to Namek.
Goku: Why am I so much stronger than the humans here? Bardock: Saiyans are stronger after each recovery. All your battles, all your defeats have hardened your body, expanded your ki. You've grown so much stronger than any low-class Saiyan could ever imagine. And there's so much more you can achieve. The only way to know for sure, is to keep breaking your limits, Kakarot.
I remember being a kid sat on the floor with my brothers watching this on cartoon network in sheer shock and amazement in that moment. Still gives me chills seeing it.
You wonder if Superman can do this and become Superman 1million. And yes I know he did that in Mastar Media's Superman v Goku. But wouldn't that be something.
Best transformation ever. All his happy-go-lucky carefree nature is gone in this form. He means business every time. I wish they'd kept it that way instead of him playing with Buu
Well Goku had to stall for time once he started to boost his power and change he knew that the form was now limiting, but he didn’t know the reason why. So instead of going all out and possibly obliterating Buu he played with Buu the only way he knew how by fighting. Was a waisted potiential? I’d say no. Because it showcased not only a radically different side of a saiyan like Goku to become much more serious and deadly compared to if he fought regularly, ssj1, or even ssj2. Plus I do believe he could’ve killed Buu in this fight like how he said he could’ve killed Kidd Buu (the original Majin) yet he was so much more powerful than his playful self from having West Kai and Grand Supreme Kai absorbed.
I really get goosebumps whenever Goku (Sean Schemmel) shouts really loud and clear and then he will transform into something incredible to the point that it transcends or beyond imagination to describe the form. After that the world including the Mortal Realm, Dimensions, Other Worlds, including the Null Realm shakes greatly and then... It goes silent.
@@vegeta2998 indeed. A lot of funis actors bandwagon and cancel folks without any real true evidence but what can we do. If sean hates ya, funi hates ya. End of story.
@@joemagnum611 that was really epic, and I've watched from the very beginning (hardly remember the first couple 30/40 episodes lol) but still imo, SSj3, too epic w the different look.
Always impressive. It's amazing just how far the effects are seen and felt from one man calling upon his power. I mean when you see the glass of whole building breaking under the incredible strain from such a distance you know this is something beyond comprehension. And that moment when you see the Mammoth Ape revert down to an infant, I always thought was an indicator that Goku had tapped into some primal source of power his race had all but forgotten.
@@sonicguyver7445 yeah, GT is non canon AF, but from my understanding, SS4 was roughly based off an idea Akira had but didn't go through with. Either that or he provided input for the transformation. I can't recall exactly but I do know Akira had something to do with SS4.
I like how while everyone else was basically freaking out as Goku was transforming, Goten was like “Do it dad!!” Also the music for this was perfect just like the video.😎
All Goten had ever heard was legend of his father. Gohan may have been the strongest when Goku died but you had best believe he’d been telling Goten from day one his dad was the best fighter the world had ever seen. And then to introduce himself in such a fashion, with the literal world watching.
Watching this with this music, feels like how all the gods of destruction stood to attention to show their respect during the false Ultra and ultra transformation. I feel like I'm witnessing in awe something truly special. The original scene conveys this enough on its own but it's significantly amplified with this music 👍
Watching this moment as a kid for the first time is genuinely mind-blowing and unforgettable. (And yeah, there was a chance I could miss the show if I don't went back home on time since we were only able to watch dbz on tv😄)
Crazy to think how perfectly this fits together. Also makes you think how well a good DBZ movie could work, something in the style of MoS for the action sequences (and transformations) atleast.
Yooooo why am I just now seeing this? Cause this was so epic. The sudden pause of the music to let the transformation breathe, only to come back with a remix of the OG ssj3 music. This was awesome
Ah, the good ole days when going super saiyan 3 literally shook the world. Power scaling in DB really makes no sense🤣 Goku and Beerus almost destroyed universe 7 with their fight. Now they go leagues beyond that in power without so much as a single issue.
I think it’s safe to say we can write off that “universe destroying” scenes as filler since it’s completely absent in the movie and manga version of that fight.
And now the main characters are the punching bags only for the side characters with "potential" to come and take the main W. They have completely lost their shit
I like to think the DB universe is like a Saiyan because how else would it not be affected later or the characters as they do it more get used to it that they don't give out as much power leakage in transformations that effect the environment
Yeah they said Jiren was stronger than his Destroyer God but Goku whooped his ass in mastered Ultra Instinct, which means he should be able to take down Beerus (unless that Destroyer was weak compared to the others). Plus Master Roshi took down several fighters in the tournament despite supposedly being much weaker than everyone else there. I really wish Buu would have participated, that would have been amazing.
Honestly, am I the only one that always felt like SSJ3 is something that Goku made rather than a natural thing Sayains can do? It's just so different that SSJ and SSJ2
For me, DB just isn't right without his music. Too many iconic moments made iconic because of his music...and all other versions feel so quiet, empty and weak without his themes.
@@creategreatness8823 My point exactly. The ones like this that are put out there that change the music, are just sad versions of what we grew up with. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kVdlBxdqv8s.html MUCH BETTER VERSION.
Ss4 is a good model too. It uses the giant monkey form to transform. It's just they lost the iconic golden color. The new ones turn them into blue and white/silver.
"And this....is to go.. even further beyond!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH............AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" literal chills.
As iconic as this transformation is yet I see lots of irony compared to super dragon ball. His level in super dragon ball is way beyond ssj3 yet just transforming into ssj3 shock the entire world. Super Saiyan god first transformation did not reach this type of disturbance on the world, isn't it ironic don't you think.!!!
I get it but, God Energy is different than normal Ki. God Energy is pure and can erase things effortlessly, while you need to expend a lot of normal Ki in order to destroy something, leading to earth-shaking consequences like Super Saiyan Three.
I wish they would have done more with super saiyan 3. Even in super compared to ssj god and ssj blue this form seems to take so much energy and is so strong... I wish goku would use it more
@@nathanfraley5430 I agree, we had Turles (meh), Bardock (not exactly Goku) and Ginyu in Goku's Body (good stuff), and Goten (meh). Goku Black was not needed, this idea was used TOO MANY times already, the only thing going for that arc are the dark themes in the begining. and I am talking on what many people consider (the best arce in Super). even the tournament of power did not have much thought, some specie variations are okay, but all the other universes were 1 dimensional, only universe 9 had some thoughts and some depth (Jiren's mysterious past - Toppo as a canidate for god role etc...), the cool way UI was introduced and the top noth high quaity fights are the saving grace for that arc.
Still remember this day. 2002 I was getting my braces off. Had just bought the VHS and was able to watch while they took off the braces. Only 20 years ago. Oh how it stuck with me.
