Nice location and aptly named, historically rich in more ways than one. Thousands of ounces were retrieved in the vicinity more than a century ago so there must be a thousand more. Excellent detective skills! Keep it up!👍👍

I'll have to check out Gold Bar this spring. I've panned at Prospector Point out by Devon and at the Terwilliger dog park in Edmonton and found flakes. I used to live near Gold Bar but never thought to pan there. I'm intrigued and want to check out a few other creeks in the city that flow into the river, as well. True, it's only flakes but still a lot of fun.

You make very nice videos. Your knowledge on prospecting is very good. Might see you in Edmonton, some time, somewhere. I find gold all year round. Cheers!

Thank you John, I really appreciate your kind words. I think its awesome how you get out there often and find some really nice gold yourself! Finding gold all year round in Alberta is no easy task, much respect!

Hey I'm in Edmonton as well I've tried Goldbar a couple times it's ok but you should go to the bend by the Dog park on the west end

Gold bar has many good little areas :) I believe goldbar flows north to south. Do you mean a dog park on the nsr on the west end of the city?

Spent from 2011 to 2015 in there, and panned at night. You are aware that water flowing is from the tank farms uphill right?

Nah, I just moved from there. I still have claims out there also that I will be working next year in the cherryville region and many other goto spots there if i need to find a nugget but life is not only about gold :) Alberta has better gold then most people realize.

Do you need a license/permit to pan in Alberta?
@d.andysprospecting
@d.andysprospecting 21 день назад
Only to run the highbanker, it’s 55$ for 5 years. Just panning does not require anything
@bradjanzen6407
@bradjanzen6407 13 дней назад
@@d.andysprospecting you need permit to run a sluice, not just for highbanker
@babyrakes

Alberta only has flour gold. Not worth your time trying to pan. You're better off driving to the Frazer River to pan actual placer gold
@d.andysprospecting
@d.andysprospecting 27 дней назад
Gold is gold. If the only reason you pan is to try and get rich then your fooling yourself. Some people pan for the adventure, time outside and not to strike it rich. I’ve spent years prospecting Bc. The Fraser is not that good compared to other spots where you still won’t make a living panning. That being said gold bar is a great place to go and pan and time outside is never a waste of time.

@d.andysprospecting I agree! I go to NSR (between elk point and lea park, east side of alberta... not gonna pinpoint where exactly) and have done well there... best part is, you can switch things up and fish too.
