Well It's fall. The air is crisp the leafs are falling from the trees the days are getting cooler and shorter (with light).. My son and I are up on the NSR digging on the channel gravel bar as the water is super low. Was a surprise to see how much gold my son and I recovered this trip out...

Good job. I have been doing a little prospecting in Nova Scotia the past several years. I haven't found much. Little bits here and there. Overall I love the outdoors. Nothing like a couple hours hike in the woods. I don't use a Sluice either, I should try one day. I hike with my backpack two pans and a classifer. I wish you guys luck and hope you find the mother load.

@@CanadianGoldProspector i was a bit confused about the weight, for those amounts of colours, but its a big river there. Where i go, near the mountains, the creek is 3-4m wide and the pieces still more a little chunky, even if they are 0,5-2mm big. Best regards from germany

Start next to the pile and let the debris chase you away , ultimately you want a horseshoe shape pit wrapping around the box, that way you work faster and only half as hard. The key is to stay as close to the box as possible.

Just started panning on the North Saskatchewan around Edmonton and area about 6 months ago. It's been a really enjoyable rewarding hobby thus far. do you run the tailing from the last gold cleanup a second time? just curious because it looks like gold goes all the way to the end of your setup and if its in the last ridge i would assume some gold is getting all the way through? never prospected or anything before so i could be completely wrong. was fun watching you guys though!

Yes you can earn money digging for gold, you definitely would end up with some pretty sore arms after a while.. For my son and I it's all about getting outside enjoying nature and well getting some gold. We'll never sell our gold, we don't need the money ...it's worth more in memories..
