Nice haul, recommend a plastic scoop to feed your sluice. Gold should be in the top 1/3 of your box. Anything lower and you either have to much drop or your feeding it to fast. Remember prospectors are GREEDY, we want it all. Good luck hope to see some more shiney

That’s awesome I am impressed by what you found for your first trip to Edmonton. I would like to go check it out this summer if I get the chance I made a homemade version of a sluice box I put thick dishwashing scrubbies at the bottom of the box in hopes to catch some of the finer bits thanks for the cool show

Tap the top of the pan with 1 hand, while holding it and and angle with the other hand...little bit of water in the pan...that gold will walk up! Right out of that black sand. Invest in a small cleanup sluicebox ir a blue bowl. You wont regret it.

Two points. First, it is illegal to in-river sluice in Alberta which is what you are doing at 8:00. Secondly, while you do not need any license or permit to hand pan for gold in Alberta, you do need a special permit to do so inside Edmonton City limits, (which I suspect you do not have).
