I think if you're leaving your family, village, country, entire continent, and everything you've ever known it's fair to be very worried about the financial situation your going to. She doesn’t seem like that much of a Golddigger to me. I think her concerns were actually rather reasonable. If you invite someone to leave their country and go live with you in yours, at least for the first few months you should be expected to provide for them until they get a visa, until they get settled in, until they got a job. They are your responsibility and he is simply not living up to that. It is no small thing to leave your entire world to join another that is totally unfamiliar to you. You are basically uprooting your entire life for somebody else, somebody who is expected to support you, who promises to support you during this transitional period. Those expectations are not unreasonable.
