Beans first appeared on a color/Black and white MM episode called "I haven't got a hat(1935)"

He, Little Kitty, and Porky along with Oliver Owl and Ham & Ex debuted in that short but the Merrie Melodies were in color by this point. Though for these 3 this were their first Looney Tunes short together.

So Porky married a cat and had a cat daughter. It's like sonic archie comics, if the parents are two different species then the gender of the child determines the species it will be.
