One year since we posted this video. 120k views, wow. Thanks for watching and sharing guys. You might want to check the new gold grind guides we made recently.
I had to resort to killing the crocs they had more teeth than the cats, was a bit of let down though I was super excited to try this :(, back to shellfish in decolace
I worked out the math on this. From 39 to 40 you can make 13-15g farming jaguars if that is all you do. Not as lucrative as video says, but helpful if you start early.
Hey, Frost. I have tried this grinding spot recently on classic at 37 lvl warrior with WW axe and want to update some info. I have grinded for two hours with average 80 kills / hour with skinning. After two hours i got the following drop: 1) Long Soft Tail: 30 x 8.06 s = 2.41 g 2) Bristly Whisker: 10 x 7.33 s = 0.73 g 3) Large Fang: 8 x 0.75 s = 6 s 4) Heavy leather: 140 x 1.5 s = 2.1 g (AH: 140 x 2.2 s = 3.08 g) 5) Thick leather: 30 x 3 s = 0.9 g (AH: 30 x 5 s = 1.5 g) 6) Wicked Claw: 1 x 30 s (AH) = 0.3 g Therefore, in total i got 8.08 g only. It equals roughly 4 g / hour. On the other hand, the most income has come from skinning instead of drop. From my point of view there are two reasons: 1) Drop rate on WOW:Classic is lower than on private servers 2) Drop rate on private servers was not proper according to vanilla. I personally rely on this one. Anyway, Thank you for this guide. If you don't try then you will never know.
@@Andant98 I decided to continue questing, because gold from items selling is nit bad. Maybe you can try Desolace farm, try to watch another Frost video with explanation
@@Andant98 don't watch gold guides, find your own farmspots. i will not offer mine, but best is to farm humanoids. i'm lvl 37 with 75g right now. my first farmspot brought me 5-10g on lvl 30 without AH and profession. with AH and profession maybe 10-15g/h. /edit: oh, and i bought every skill and have all professions on 200+, so i would have over 100g if i didn't do that. at 37. 3 lvls till mount. 3 lvls to farm more gold. i expect to have 150-200g on lvl 40
@@reggiestockton8166 i've got better options now, so i will tell u one of my spots i used: thousand needles the harpie cave. yes, those harpies who silence u all day. not the best spot for casters, but that's great for everyone else cause u will be alone most of the time. no mages allowed. if someone gets there for the quest just offer your help cause it will spawn ~10 harpies and alone he will be fked. there are iron ores in that cave too, so if u are a blacksmith u will get even more gph. u will get ~ 1g raw gold per h, 2-4 gold from grays and whites selling to vendor (one of the whites u will need for darkmoon rep, so it may be worth to not vendor them), greens and maybe blues if u are lucky, 10-30 wool cloth, 40-80 silk cloth which are 40s per stack if u are converting them with first aid and 10-30 iron ores if u are blacksmith. best spot for me back then. but it's not hard to find those spots. just look around and have in mind: humanoids are normally the best to farm cause they drop cloth and more green/blue items than others. /edit: i got 40s per iron ore using AH, that's huge, but that was only possible cause i sold iron belt buckles for 20s (1g per stack). u get two belt buckles for 1 ore. so 10 iron ores was like 4g.
Really appreciate you explaining some of the lesser known methods and "secrets" with such attention to detail! Every other channel already covers the basics. This way you set yourself apart. Please keep doing videos like this so we may prepare optimally for official Classic WoW :) PS. Do you have a Discord group? Maybe we can talk more in-depth and share more secrets there in a small group so other veterans won't hef to be mad ;)
I remember tirelessly roaming the deserts of Tanaris on my Stormpike Battle Charger (first ever epic mount; one which was obtained with some kind of currency from Alterac Valley that I can't remember) mining mithril ore and selling for 25g a stack in order to raise money for my brothers epic riding skill. Good times!
As an alchemist (mostly mid-tier), it pained me a lot seeing all these large fangs sold to the vendor lol. They are not maybe extremely valuable, but in a lot of cases people simply don't want to carry items that stack to 5 or simply bother with them, so their value is often in equalibrium between item price on AH and how much people care to carry them. If you are in a place with mailbox but without AH, you can make a deal with some alchemist and COD it or something :P
This does not work at all. 80% of the mobs does not drop anything. It's all different in real classic compared to private servers, yeah the whisker is 18% droprate, but It's only 18% IF SOMETHING DROPS in the first place. I got loot 23 times out of 115, ca 4g per hour Firemaw, Horde.
I watched these videos when classic released and I'm rewatching now that I'm playing Turtle wow. I did the hyena grind today. Three packs with a level 36 druid. Pretty easy, got about 16 gold in two hours. I am using the leather for LW. Thanks for all your videos!
PSA: the jaguars appear to have a bugged loot table on classic. They are very rarely dropping the tails/whiskers (about 10-15% rate for me). This may have been hotfixed, but just be warned
I got lucky and got in a pretty great guild without having to sign up and interview. That’s a story for another day. They helped me out big time with advice and tips. I was able to get my mount and epic mount as soon as I dinged.
Thank you mister frosty! I grinded from 2-5 gold to 90gold between level 35-38 already mostly thanks to this guide with my rogue. Stay Frosty, going to ride my skeleton horse to the badlands now.
A good place for level 30+ is in Tanaris, level up your fishing and hit the shore and fish the debris pools. They can drop junk boxes with cloth and items that you can sell for good money on the AH. Takes awhile to level up fishing, but I could make 10+ gold an hour through that. I had well over 100g when I hit 40.
How to pay for level 40 Mount: Train fishing, power too at least 250 (which requires Nat Pagle quest), catch and sell Oily Blackmouth, easy 10g+ per stack. Also train cooking, power to 300. Catch Nightfin, cook, and sell Nightfin Soup, easy 30-40g per stack. Pay for mount in maybe 3-4 AH sales. Can accomplish that in a week, tops. I'm doing this on Kronos III and have gone from zero skill in both, to both maxed out and 250g richer (after buying my mount) in literally 1 week of effort, and I was grinding and running dungeons in that time as well, not just cooking/fishing only. Fishing is the most lucrative way to earn gold in the game.
Yeah on a fresh server economy you won't make anywhere near those amounts. For example I'm on lightshope the oily blackmouth stack of 20 sells for 12-15g but on the brand new fresh server silverhand the same stack sells for 40s. Brand new economy where no one has 100s of gold means these fish while can be profitable much later on are worth next to nothing at the start. I saw the rare twink rogue dagger "assassin's blade" which normally sells for a few hundred gold on the new server for 5g.see what I mean
I remember back in the day I got my mount at 40 by doing solo SFK runs. There's some BOE blue drops there that Twinks like. I did a few runs, got the blues and then sold them on the AH. Took about three or four hours, sold within a couple more on the AH and I had my mount. I bought my mount on my hunter by buying the limited spawn recepies from vendors that are in concealed, or out of the way spots. Another way I used to make money in Vanilla was doing solo SM amoury runs and DCing the blues for small radiant shards and selling those on the AH.
I discovered you today, this is the first video from you that I click on. I hear Gothic 3 - In My Dreams soundtrack. Instant like, instant subscribe. I see you're a man of culture, as well!
Very nice and helpful video. Watched into some other videos four times as long prior and they weren't nearly as helpful. I'd appreciate more of this kind.
I farmed swamp jaguars for 30 minutes on my 38 shadow priest, Zandalar Tribe EU RP/PVP. My farm took place on a thursday between 15:30-16:00, ie. not in prime time. In these 30 minutes I managed to kill and skin 40 jaguars. My kill speed might not have been very high - but I found that irrelevant as spawn times were nowhere near as abundant as in the video. My profit for *30 minutes* were as follows: Leather and skins: 61 s 50 c 6 long soft tails: 48 s 90 c 1 bristly whisker: 7 s 33 c 3 large fangs: 3 s (AH) 1 green BoE: 15 s *Total = 1 g 35 s 73 c* Equalling an underwhelming *2 g 71s 46c pr. hour*
Watching your classic tips as I've just subbed to vanilla classic and levelling a mage. Planning now for when I can start aoeing mobs for the mount at 40.
Tyrs hand was a great grind spot for gold. Another grind spot he did not say that makes a lot of gold and non elite mobs is the birds from Deadwind Pass. They drop trash which goes for prices like those certain trash drops from AQ40. You can farm them fast as you do a circuit and you can make quite a bit of gold. Recommended for people if they aren't geared enough to do Tyr's hand fast enough.
Pretty good, paused at 3:49 so you might mention something in the next few seconds. These cats have a greet loot table but theres another way to make money as well. I'm trying to be as vague as possible bc I don't wanna say anything else in case people try to take my secret farm spot but I'll say cats are prob one of the best mobs to grind in the game
Swamp of Sorrows jag grinding is a big thing on Northdale. Very little ganking, and when it does happen, the ganker tends to regret it. Just make sure you have an exit plan if a 60 catches you at any of the nodes. If they're your faction, they tend to be passive aggressive about it. If they're the opposite faction, they tend to eschew the "passive" part. One good thing about leveling a rogue is there's no better class to flip the bird and get the fuck out of there. I'm worried that this implicit non-aggression pact will be lost on the official Classic servers with an influx of new players who haven't been ... socialized ... yet.
I can confirm that after an hour of grinding on the jaguars (with skinning) I made about 5 gold this counting the two green drops that I vendored. LvL 38 warrior managed to kill around 115 jaguars + 10-12 spiders and two crocs in one hour. A bit more that half of level XP wise (like 65%).So if you tolerate grinding over dungeons/ questing I guess it's a good alternative but gold wise in classic wow it's not. You make more gold both in questing or dungeons.
My 100% foolproof way to farm gold for my mount - Northern Badlands stone elementals. I have never NOT had enough money at 40 to buy a mount - because i don't spend any.
I wonder how many of these guides will be valid in Classic. I've seen vids about how pservers have incorrect abilities for mobs and made up drop tables and drop rates.
Hello Frostadamus, most of your grinding spot videos are wrong. Drop rates are lower on classic and they are not worth. You should tell it at the beginning of the video (OUTDATED) or delete them, you're only make people waste time now
Man, I know vendoring that stuff was to prove that's how much, minimum, you could make... but good lord it triggered me thinking about how much more you could have made by auctioning it off.. Just mail it to a bank alt!!!!
Does the price of "Soft Patch of Fur" vary from patch to patch? I'm currently playing 1.2 vanilla and I just sold 2 soft patches of fur for 24s and some copper a few minutes ago. So it's 12s per piece instead of just 6s.
Vendoring all the Heavy Leather stacks gave me anxiety lol. Could have made 5x the gold on the AH than vendor. Assuming heavy leather will sell for 3-10g a stack
thing is come classic everyone will have watched these type of videos and everyone one of them says take skinning. there will be to much competition to effectively sell it so might aswell vendor
@@eemgee9352 Yeah for sure, I understand that. I just don't recall vendoring leather being better than selling it on AH back during Vanilla. I remember selling thick leather and turtle scales for like 7-8g a stack. I farmed leather grinding mobs from 46-50(ran out of quests) that paid for my epic mount pretty much. Granted this was obviously like a year into Vanilla so markets could have settled.
Report from Classic. Jaguar loot tables in this video don't correspond to Classic loottables sadly. They drop 0 greys which make it basically useless [Correction not 0, but close enough]. Gonna try welps next.
Best advice: Don't spend a single minute grinding before 60, just max out and do the seal of ascension (ubrs key) quest ASAP. I was one of the first guys who made it back on classic on Aggamagan-EU with my warrior and made enough money to buy my epic mount and a foror just by selling UBRS door openings (back when it could still be done as a 15-man raid).
Getting the key takes like 48 hours if you're with a group that let's you get all the gemstones... Standard rate of UBRS-opening is only 10 gold and interrupts whatever you're doing, you can earn way more by doing other stuff. Decent for passive income, pretty shit overall.
The thing about the lvl 40 mount that my friend Frostanubus didn't mention is, that it's only useful if you want to reach lvl 60 as fast as humanly possible, since at the end of the day all it does it helps you get from A to B 60% faster. So if you don't get the mount the milisecond you hit lvl 40 don't panic, it's not the end of the world. The other thing he didn't mention is that depending on the population of the server said locations will be occupied almost all of the time, so the scenarios where you will be able to farm without being interrupted by gankers or other farmers, will almost never happen.
If you're a decently geared 60 (warrior) is there a better place to get gold for an epic mount? Personally I've killed over 3000 jaguars when leveling said warrior, I can still hear their screams.
i found a way to make DM pay out about 48g an hour....what sucks is the lock out after 5 runs....if it wasnt for that lock out it would be allmost 80g an hour
Hey Frost, its been a long time now that Im following you on youtube. I wanted to know how can you have an UD mount as human ? I think you are using a mod, but what it is please ? Thanx for your answer, and good video btw !
Like ByteKnight is saying, the mount is called the deathcharger, drops with a very low chance from Baron Rivendare in stratholme and can be used by any faction. I'm playing on an offline server so I just made it for me.
Are those drop rates based on Vanilla or kronos/elysium/lights hope servers because i am pretty sure they have a small increase in drop rate of grey, white and green aswell? 😊 regards
nice video, im gonna nitpick though and say that those hyenas dont just stand in those spots if scripted properly, they patrol all over the place and can be tricky to track down. There are pics that show their pathing online though.
at lvl 36 mage im farming murlocks in dustwalow matsh they respawn insanely fast and are easy to aoe frind better to do it in 2 people but can do it alone too (makes it a lot slower) great for leveling and u can also get fish oil and vendor items like murlock fin etc + greens
