Hell In A Cell against Seth Rollins was when The Fiend was overbooked as this indestructible monster. Against Goldberg, they went the polar opposite where anyone, including old-timers, can conquer him in no time flat.

Except Vince everyone on this planet thought the same, unfortunately his opinion mattered the most. Even Kevin Owens shouldn't have lost to Goldberg at Fastlane. That Jericho-Owens rivalry deserved a World title match to cap it off, not the US title.

@@ashishnair12 I've been saying this since 2017. Owens-Jericho was the best storyline on Raw in 2016-17 and absolutely deserved to be the for the world title. That happening was the reason Jericho left WWE.

@@anthonyanderson9303 That whole storyline carried Raw during that time whereas Smackdown was firing on all cylinders. Goldberg-Lesnar didn't need a title match. Jericho-Owens should have main evented Wrestlemania that year for the world title, certainly over Roman-Taker. That match was ass.

Hall is right. Asuka is a better wrestler than Goldberg. She can wrestle circles around him, even William Regal can out wrestle him. Goldberg can't wrestle in real-life. He's a former football player pretending to be a wrestler.

Look at Goldberg in any non-kayfabe backstage interview or when the boys and girls are just having fun. It’s clear he wanted nothing to do with anyone backstage and thought he was better than everyone else. I remember one time, he accidentally stumbled into a backstage area where Xavier was doing UpUpDownDown. Xavier welcomed him, but when Goldberg saw what they were doing, he literally ran away.

I don’t think Bill has ever once sat down and actually thought about it. He came into a business where he didn’t have to pay any dues and a lot of legends that really had their heyday in the 80s and early 90s but were wrestlers everyone respected like Bobby Eaton, all lay down for this guy. He’s never once thought about how fair it was to all of the guys that had been in the business 15 and 20 years or even some of them that were there five or six years, but they were all more deserving than he was but because of his look all those guys had to go and have the 32nd Bill Goldberg match to help get him over. That’s what people mean by giving back. Bill, you’re supposed to give back to the business that made you because we damn sure know it wasn’t the NFL because nobody that’s an NFL fan outside of Georgia knows who the fuck he was when he was playing. The reason he’s famous today is not from the NFL it’s because of WCW and he really acts like he is owed an undefeated streak. He’s not the first person in the history of pro wrestling to have an undefeated streak. It’s just a device to get you over, but Bill isn’t smart enough to know that let’s say he just kept on and never went undefeated , the fans would completely turn on him. The fans and WCW, we were already turning on him. He was the most over guy in the company in the summer of 1998 when he beat Hogan. But after a while, we got tired of seeing the same fucking match over and over again every Monday night and every PPV. By the time you got to December 19 98, they had been having to pipe in the Goldberg chants because really by the time November rolled around the fans were sick of it. It’s not that they were sick of him as a person, but it was old by that point. Kevin Nash was five times more over than Bill was going into Starrcade. I know wrestling history that has been rewritten 50 times over would tell you differently and I’m not saying Kevin’s an angel or the perfect gentleman or anything like that but the truth of the matter is the fans were sick of Goldberg and they wanted Kevin to beat him and you can go back and watch the match and when Kevin beats him even though it’s a screw job finish the entire arena jumped up cheering that Kevin beat him. And that is because of his streak it went too long. Honestly, I think the best thing that should’ve happened back, then was not put the nWo back together for one , but keep the Wolfpack going. Keep having them as your main baby faces, and have Goldberg turn heel. Like have him snap like he’s completely completely went crazy because he finally lost and have him start work injuring guys like having matches on Nitro where guys are having to go to the hospital and until he gets his return match with Kevin and then have him beat Kevin, but have him do a screw job and like cheat to beat Kevin it would make him the biggest heel in the company. And then maybe have DDP beat him at Starrcade that year. Bill would be one of the few wrestlers that could say he was just as over as a heel as he was a baby face and then if you do it that way by the time you turn him baby face again he’s a bad ass again and the fans are sick of him and he has another great run as a baby face and he enjoys another run with the belt. But that streak was the worst thing that I think could’ve happened to him mentally because ever since then he’s felt like he’s owed something.

I remember heading a story years ago that he thought he was better than Scott Steiner and that he didn't wanna lose to him because he felt nobody would believe Scott Steiner could actually beat him in a real fight. @PsychoticFruitfly Well it was a dark match. WCW had this habit of ignoring stuff that didn't happen on TV. It's why Benoit and Booker traded the TV title like 4 times in 4 days or something like that, yet on Nitro they didn't acknowledge the title changes at all.

That’s what angered me the most. They had this crappy card for WM with not a single interesting match or feud except the Owners and Jericho story. So instead of having them fight for the ultimate price, they had Goldberg bury Owens‘ run which led to Jericho and Owen’s opening WM in an ice cold match that nobody no longer gave a damn about, while Goldberg got his 6 weeks long reign and a co-mainevent against Brock that sucked big time.

Goldberg had a pretty good final run in WWE especially since he left them in a poor way in 2004 as Solo mentioned. I really don't get why he's complaining and much less disrespecting Asuka. She didn't deserve that. His petty beef energy should be directed at Vince or Hunter.
