I love how shocked he was, like he didn't even think he belonged as a nominee. And the cast practically pushing him to the stage because he was so surprised he honestly looked like he was going to pass out.
+Erica Beumel Well if you look back, all of the other actors he was going against were and are VERY accomplished actors. This was Chris' big break and for him to pull of the upset is still surprising to this day, but the voters got it right.
"Uhm, I think I just dropped my heart inbetween Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore so if anyone sees it, please give it back" How can you not love him he's so adorable
God love Lea, literally in tears, Dianna fangirling with a huge smile, Heather beaming ear to ear and Jane telling Chris to go... those guys are family. Hell, I'm gonna miss Glee. Such a true Gleek.
So many feelings I still have about this... 1) "a two-male relationship," they say when referring to Modern Family. How incredibly awkward. 2) Diana Agron's reaction next to him when he wins. That, exactly. 3) Chris Colfer's genuine reaction to having Eric Stonestreet pat him on the back as he walked past. 4) Chris Colfer actually possibly being an angel. 5) "Screw that, kids." - the best quote of 2011,
Chris is the kindest most humble person, he hasn't a bit of ego about himself. Even his fri4nds and folks he works with have said as much and have even said they wish he was less humble about his talents!😂 that reaction when he won was him genuinely in shock he'd won, he said later he was so shocked that he basically was on auto pilot from the moment they'd said his name and he'd been unable to remember any of his moment speaking on stage! He hadn't prepared a thing cause he genuinely had never thought he'd win! He was so adorable in interviews about his win too, humble about it and joking about having to move it off his TV stand cause it kept distracting him out if disbelief it was real!😂 everything you see in videos of him, is simply just chris being entirely himself. He's described himself as a comicon and Disney gay and awkward and clumsy. I've met him irl 2 times and spoke to him via a video meet and greet i won over the pandemic and on the phone once when he was on char margolis' youtube channel the last time. He's so lovely and attentive to who ever he's speaking to. When your right infront of him he gives you his undivided attention, such a rare quality. Hell, everything about him is a rare find, especially in hollywood!! I'm about to meet him again for the upcoming book tour and I can't wait!
I will never not get over this video. Lea look like she can't breathe when he's up on stage. Every single member of the cast looked so genuinely happy. *rosy cheeks*
I am a 55 year old man. It is impossible to overstate the social and political significance of this character on a prime time show developed for high school audience. This simply has no relation to the world I grew up in. it was inconceivable that television would spotlight a successful gay romance among legal minors, and develop characters that were not so angst filled and self loathing that pity was not the primary audience response. In my high school days, there were zero regular gay characters on any television show. There were only the rarest of 'featured characters' for a specific one episode plotline and trust me, it was inevitably so wrought with stereotypes that the plot creaked from the weight. the absolute earliest was a character on 'SOAP' and then one on Dynasty and they were caricatures not characters. the work done on this show normalizing what society spent centuries demonizing makes my jaw drop in scene after scene. this rather flamboyant gay boy is a three dimensional fully realized human with aspirations, flaws, attributes and a definite future outside of his orientation. it makes a real difference to gays suffering in silence, in isolation and desperation, to see this example of a better world than they live in. I never had that, never imagined that.
And the beauty of this moment speaks to all queer minorities. You're so right. My life experience has been met with some hard times, even for me as a Millennial, but I can barely fathom how much harder it was for your generation when it was unspeakable taboo. Thank you for sharing such heartfelt words. Though generations apart, we are near and dear to one another's heart. *hugs to our LGBTQAI+ family*
Dianna was acting like a fangirl and looked so happy and excited that it was just too cute; Lea looked like a proud mother and it seemed like she couldn't even breathe, it was endearing; then there's Jane who is just like "Go!" And she looked really happy, all of them did and it's amazing to have that kind of support from your cast members. Chris really deserved that, he's proven many times that he's an outstanding actor, if it weren't because Glee lost popularity, he'd easily have other two of those.
@@therandompandaman4521 I think the show itself was nominated. so usually if a show wins "Best Comedy" etc the whole cast + producers etc go on stage to accept the award.
I love when Chris is walking up and he doesn’t realize he passed Eric Stonestreet (who was also nominated and pats him on the back) and then Chris looks back and smiles. It looks like the sportsmanship really meant a lot to him
The cast's reaction to Chris's more heartfelt portion of his speech is just priceless. Lea and Matthew crying, Dianna, Ashley, Jenna, Heather, Naya and Ryan just looking SO proud of him and Jane just has the biggest smile on her face. And Chris is just the cutest specimen alive. I love ALL OF IT.
I really like how the whole Cast and Crew of Glee supports him, and how they're not eager to win those gold statues just for themselves. Shows that there's a lot of group encouragement and love behind the scenes of that show
I don't really watch the show but what you said was very true, i haven't seen a whole cast be this supportive. They looked just as anxious & nervous as him.
Still the best acceptance speech, from beginning to end. "I just dropped my heart between Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore..." and a strong finish with "...screw that, kids." amazing.
the way dianna is so fucking happy, oh my. also, i had no idea his character was named "kurt" because he played kurt in a production of 'the sound of music'
dianna fangirling over him, ashley, being happy for him, kevin literally paved the way for him to get out, jane pushing him through with a smile on her face, heather looking emotional and happy for chris, jayma in the back adoring chris' speech and lea crying for him, i love this cast and how supportive they all are 🥺
Chris Colfer deserved this Golden Globe Award so much... Best speech I've ever heard - especially since he had not prepared at all (not expecting to win). Quite frankly, he deserved a nom for s4 and s5, as well, but Glee's credibility as a positive show had been chewed up by that time. The entire cast is very talented in different ways; the original cast was a magical combination.
I know this happened 11 plus years ago, but I was so happy when Chris Colfer won the Golden globe for his performance as Kurt. I faithfully watched Glee because it was the best show back then and still remains my all time favorite. I believe “Kurt” was the heart of the show, but I can’t leave behind the rest of the cast, everyone was!
I love how he wasn't excited or smiling when they said his name, just in pure absolute shock. Then he looked like he was gonna cry. Once he got on stage I thought he was gonna pass out.
"...and because of his rosy cheeks" LOL. I remember when this happened! I was so happy I didn't even care about the rest of the awards, I was just waiting for this!
his reaction was so pure and honest. he was literally using the chairs to brace himself as he walked up to receive his award. I hope he does not ever change and remains this humble.
I can’t comprehend how happy it makes me to see Dianna, Lea, Heather, Jane and everyone else look so overjoyed while Chris is absolutely frozen because he can’t believe it😭😭 precious
+Julie Delahooke You know he's going to be in a movie called Absolutely Fabulous and I heard he's going to be the main role in a movie that will air in 2017.
Julie Sigtuna IS THERE A BOOK??? I HAVEN'T WATCHED THE MOVIE BECAUSE I'M SCARED IT'S GONNA BE BAD, IS IT GOOD? I LOVE HIM SO MUCH ANd I am totally chill as you can see
He looked so modest when they announced his name at the beginning. This is why I love Chris because he is so selfless and doesn't always realise how truly fabulous he is .
this makes me cy because 10 years later idk what I'm doing with myself but I remember telling everyone to watch or get out for the Golden Globes solely for Chris Colfer
