The french-argentine striker David Sergio Trezeguet recently trespassed from France's Division 1 Championat club A.S. Monaco to Italy's Serie A club Juventus F.C. scored the golden goal in the a.o.t of the 2000 UEFA Euro final at Feyenoord's stadium De Kuip against the home country of his new club so France could rise it's second title in the competition. This french squad was the first team winning the UEFA Euro as the current FIFA World Cup champion.

Do you think Trezeguet is more known for this goal or for his missed penalty kick in the 2006 World Cup Final? He’s probably the only athlete who has ever been both the hero AND the choker on the biggest of stages.

@@risottonero4501 Thats the saddest example. Even if Baggio had scored, they were probably out anyway. His team mates missed quite a few penalties before it even got to him.

The English Felt bad that Italy got robbed against France in the Euro 2000 final and then made it to the final again to try to win The 2nd title in Euro 2012 but got destroyed by Spain 4-0 so the English let Italy win so Italy would finally win the 2nd euro cup title

@@Darkscenes-jp4ge When Italy lost to Spain in the Euro 2012 final, we swallowed our pride and admitted defeat. We made foolish mistakes that costed us the title. As sad we were, the Italians had to admit that the Spanish were simply better than us that night. Instead of bitching and complaining, we trained harder until we finally got it right. Spain is one of Italy's closest rivals. I may not be their biggest fan, but I respect them. They're the only team to win 2 euros and a world cup consecutively. Germany almost got, but lost to the Czech Republic in the Euro 76' final.
