I don't know how the stewards rulebook in Ireland or for Leopardstown reads as to what does or doesn't contitute in-race interference significant enough to alter the placings? What I would say however is that at this same meeting back in 2012, the Flaxman Stables owned/David Wachman trained filly Duntle won and minutes later was taken down as the winner of the G1 Matron Stakes for much less than I saw committed in this race by Golden Horn.
People don't understand Free Eagle, you see Free Eagle is a very, very fragile horse, hence why he only had 3 run's under his belt until he was four. However what people also don't understand is that Free Eagle cant take a hit as much as an other horse does, show this to anyone in the middle of the street, and they will say 'Well Golden Horn won well in the end, unlikely Free Eagle would have gotten up', however that is not the case. You see Free Eagle cant take a hit like any other horse can, he's so fragile yet has so much ability, however if you rewind back to 3:37, Golden Horn basically has all his body over Free Eagle, Free Eagle lost so much momentum from that bump, he came to win it two out, and it was a shame thing's didn't go his way. I was there that day, and believe me Golden Horn was not a poplar winner at all. Not a single cheer went up when watching the replay, all boo's, I believe I even saw a group of people who were throwing can's at Golden Horn when he was being led up in front of the grandstand, also in the winner's enclosure, the cheer was no were near as loud as last year's when the Grey Gatsby got up in a thrilling finish, last year you could barely hear yourself talk in the winner's enclosure, this year you could well talk over it no problem, in my opinion Free Eagle was the best horse in the race and should have won, he's a real little fighter and I think he's one of the best horses's in the world, I hope he go's to wherever Golden Horn go's, so that he can teach him a lesson. If this race was re-run in my opinion Free Eagle would have led them half a furlong out but Golden Horn would have battle back, however Free Eagle would have got back up on the line and Pat Smullen would have saluted the crowd, sadly that didn't happen, however no doubt Free Eagle will get his revenge sooner rather than later.
+Ben Clarke you're a cry baby and a terrible judge. maybe your pocket is talking.. i dunno. Anyway GH has since destroyed Free Eagle in winning the Arc. People like you keep bookmakers rich. FE was emptying and didnt look as though it had the guts anyway. And who gives a toss if a few idiots were booing GH in Ireland? What a pointless comment. It was in Ireland ffs. Go figure.
Free Eagle had a lot of class, but there was no way he'd have went past Golden Horn.. and even if he did put his head in front, he would have got out-battled.. The only way he'd have beat Golden Horn is if they raced off level-weights.. so I suppose in that sense, he was the better horse, but just not officially..
Free Eagle Was barely Switching leads and putting his Head down for his final Run while he was 3/4 of a length behind... He should of at Least got 2nd for you Dummys that say GH is Best.. GH is a Better Closer because He ObV was Flattening Out and Bolting like Sakhee did in Breeders Cup Classic while placing 4th!! Is it the Horse or Franki Dettori Doing this Dangerous Jockeying!??
Free eagle was getting first or 2nd but he Ended up 3rd... That makes 2 reasons for him getting dq'd... Horse in u.s got taken down after winning for an incident after the Wire!! Lol
