I love the Vegas was handed a team argument when even after the draft, not a single writer, commentator, youtube personality, fanbase, etc chose vegas to be anything but last. They were so obviously going to be good that nobody knew about it 😂😂😂
Not true, New York Post said it was being rigged before the draft was even done. Toronto Sun has Bettman saying the team needed to be competitive from the start, Ed Willed wrote an article in The Providence stating that Vegas was a big winner in the expansion draft before the first season started
@Dr. Elder's Anatomy Channel yes. The $500,000,000 should have gotten then a partially competitive team because having a team that sucks for 30 years out the gate doesn't help the league. Bettman never said they would be good. He pretty much said there were new rules in place to make sure they werent bottom dwellers. As it should have been forever. Nobody chose them to be a playoff team. Had Bettman flat out said this team will be great, the betting lines would have shown it. Not a single person actually said they would be good. That's why you didn't provide a single article praising them even after they picked the team.
@@indianajones5037 the quote was " not a single writer, commentator, youtube personality, fanbase, etc chose vegas to be anything but last." I just showed it wasn't true. That being said, it is funny to hear VGK fans talk about how they were fans from day one despite most of them hating hockey and they themselves think the team was going to stink. If the NBA had done what the NHL did, they would all be basketball fans now and still hate hockey
George McPhee mastered the entire process of the expansion draft and then fleeced a bunch of teams on top of that so he got a well deserved promotion to President. Unfortunately though most of the misfits were dismantled soon there after but they have been running the division every year and the competition is catching up but they are still on top.
The NHL ( Gary betman ) is plotting against all 6 canadian teams .. and if they ever decide to bring another team to Canada they should put it in Toronto, they could use a team.
How many times have the Habs won the Stanley Cup? IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW MANY TIMES THEY WON THE CUP because they haven't won 1 (one) WITH a SALARY CAP. Now go get a tissue!
As a Caps fan I would've been really happy for them if they beat us. The owner paid a huge expansion fee the NHL couldn't justify keeping the expansion rules of the 90s where the teams got table scraps. Unfortunately for Seattle the league's GMs learnt their lesson prior to their expansion. I however am annoyed they won this year after the ruthlessness they showed in what they did to MAF and Dadonov.
It's funny that the owner said they'd have a cup in 6 years and guess what? The 7 Canadian teams should refuse to give any more money to failing US franchises and see how that works
Well, obviously they have the capital to make sure they put on a show. It’s Vegas. And I’m all here for it! If the theory was true, what happened to the Kraken? 😂😂😂
The nhl changed the rules for Seattle cuz they realized the vegas expansion draft was way too unfair. Teams were then able to protect 2 more players per team, giving seattle much less to choose from, which is why they didnt have success from day 1
I am convinced that the USA because of the political system in Canada over the last three years they’ll do everything they can not to let the cup back to Canada
@@saskk2290 In the fall of 2002, the Canadian province of Alberta implemented a 12.5% tax on all income earned by National Hockey League (NHL) players who play games in the province's two NHL cities of Edmonton and Calgary.1 This first-in-Canada tax on professional hockey players is designed to help the province's struggling NHL teams, without using the province's taxpayer money.2 The tax, which will apply only to NHL players, and will not apply to coaches, trainers, or visiting management, is expected to result in a gross revenue stream of U.S. $5,000,000.00 per year,3 which will be made available to the teams, less the cost of administration. 4 The tax will be imposed on NHL players who perform services in the province of Alberta from August 31, 2002, until December 31, 2005.5 There are roughly 700 players currently playing in the NHL.6 With nearly all NHL players scheduled to play in either Edmonton or Calgary over the next season, each one of these athletes will need guidance on how they are affected by this tax. NHL players need to be educated on the potential tax credits available to them, as well as to any double taxation issues. Professional sports are a big business, and athletes need to be aware of their current financial and tax landscape. Knowledge of how this tax affects NHL players and the
@@saskk2290 Why are Canadian NHL teams struggling? It really comes down to four things all the teams had in common: The U.S. dollar/Canadian dollar disparity. All contracts are in U.S. dollars and when the Canadian dollar is in the doldrums that makes paying players that much more expensive.
Wasn't a conspiracy. Teams were just pure full blown fuckin stupid. Trading a player n picks, they could use in trades, to "protect" a player they wanted to keep was stupid. All they had to do was tell the team they were going to pick a goalie or defenceman they knew they wanted to keep and... crazy so many GM's let themselves get manipulated
As a golden knights fan, I can't say I blame you. They've lost to teams worse than them (except for SJ and Arizona those were just free wins) yet somehow still can win against teams that are nearly the same skill or better. Just a few nights ago we lost to buffalo 2-7 and keep in mind, the knights are 11th in the league and the sabres are 27th currently
You're probably the person who hates the fact that the NHL isn't as big as some of the other organizations, yet hates when anyone picks up hockey and becomes a fan cause "they aren't real fans."
Vegas golden knights and Florida Panthers fix is in the games are rigged Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers are better makes no sense why would players agree to this with robot switch the games are bs or 1 goal games against Panthers I don't believe it
the leafs did what the leafs do best. They play like shit when it matters. My family are leafs fans that's just how it goes. Vegas is the better team vs oilers as well so no clue what ur on about
