The Boston Bruins have choked. Substack: rothsteina.substack.com/ RU-vid Channel: / @adamrothsteinhockey Twitter: / arhockeypodcast Instagram: / adamrothsteinhockeypod... Hockey Journal: www.lulu.com/shop/adam-rothst...
We have a reason to be extremely cocky, setting very many records, we would have won, but guess who messed us up? Bettman screwed us up, Florida is a terrible team, they shouldn't even have been able to make it to the finals. That Stanley cup should have been ours.
Such a silly comment. Of course Bruins will be remembered for all the records they broke. In the end they did win 1 SC in 2011 so this is not a lost generation at all
The only reason the Bruins had more wins and points than that Canadiens team was because they didn't have overtime and shootouts back then. Montreal had 12 ties that year - 12 chances to pick up an extra point and an extra win. There is no way that team doesn't pick up at least 4 of a possible 12 points from those games. Oh yeah, unlike the Bruins they also won the Stanley Cup.
Nice effort by Marchand on the Series-winner. At least the Little Ball of Hate didn’t skate off the ice like he did when St. Louis scored theCup-winning goal in the Garden inGame 7 in 2019.
What I find even funnier is that the last 10 minutes of that 3rd period was just Florida dumping it, failing to get possession and letting Boston re-entry. Then Boston just decides to turn it over and give them offensive zone control 😂
Come on. The TB Lightning did the same thing in 2019, then won the next two Stanley Cup's. You guys will have good teams years to come...and this is coming from a Canucks fan.
@@lasttry99 Well I don`t know that feeling, having the best team that season and or, won more games in 1 season in History of the NHL, and then lose in the first round, has to be painful.
@@garygagnon5057 of course it is but great regular season usually don't end in a standley cup now does it. If you never noticed yhe goalie shit to bed. It happens
The thing about Boston is that they were playing playoff hockey all season, they were already on gear 4 while the other teams were on gear 3. When they got into the playoffs, the other teams had another gear, but Boston stayed the same.
No, Boston was on cruise control because they had the playoffs in the bag. Florida played a month's worth of playoff games before the actual playoffs even started. They had to play well down the stretch to even get into the playoffs.
The only reason they won was the fact that Vancouver out choked them. And as of the time i'm commenting this, in the NBA, the celtics are down 3-0 to the heat. The celtics are really the same story.
As a hawks fan, this takes me back to game 6 of the 2013 Stanley cup. I was on vacation with my cousins from Minnesota who hated the blackhawks. Every game was a battle on the ice and in front of the tv. It was an incredible series and I’ve had a great sense of respect for the bruins ever since.
Going into the playoffs the Bruins were firing on all cylinders. Why they felt the need to tinker with that line up makes no sense. Moving players out of the line up to make room for Forbert ,Foligno and Hall was foolish. The best plus/minus on the team was Matt G. Sitting him out was flat out stupid .Hall can't stay on his feet if anyone touches him and Foligno hasn't done anything in years. If it ain't broke, don't screw with it!
That absolute debacle should keep tame the braggishly obnoxious Bruins groupies(mostly longtime transplants in cities outside of Boston) from mouthing off in away arenas.
Looking back, this was easily the most painful series loss to go through as a bruins fan Because unlike 2010 and 2013, Expectations to win the cup this season were astronomical. Saying this team was great was an understatement. It seemed like anytime they were down in any game, they had answers and found ways to win. They had everything anyone could ever want on a team. Superstars, veterans, amazing forward and defensive depth, 2 elite goaltenders. 65-12-5 record, 3-1 series lead, losing game 5 in OT off an embarrassing turnover, losing a back and forth and very winnable game 6, and losing game 7 in OT after leading 3-2 with 1 minute left in the 3rd. Everything that could have went wrong in this series, went worse than wrong. The fact this amazing season ended so abruptly like this, felt like the world had collapsed. Jack Edwards said it best, Hindenburg like ending. 😂 This was without question this team's last great shot at winning another cup. And watching Krejci and Bergy crying before leaving the ice for the final time before retiring was gut wrenching. Like the 2007 patriots, even if they win another cup in the somewhat near future, this season will forever leave a gaping hole in our hearts for what could have been the greatest complete season in NHL History.
We got swept by Columbus after setting the points record you guys broke this year. It was the best thing to happen to us. Just like us sweeping the President's Trophy winning Panthers was the best thing to happen to them. Tough to see that right now im sure, but you guys are a well run franchise.
This was truly the most disgraceful playoff fallout of all time! Kudos to Florida for battling their way thru it and eventually to a Stanley Cup Final!
The irony of it all was when the Bruins Fired Bruce Cassidy, who was soon hired by the Vegas Golden Knights, and coached them to the Stanley Cup. In addition, they did what Boston couldn’t do, CRUSH the Florida Panthers. So I guess you could say that Karma really Hammered Boston. BRUINS GOT RUINED!!! 😂😂😂😂🤣
Bs need to look at bigger players Maybe more russian or european players in the mix also They just dont seem to have the durability and speed it takes to win
