Hey i needed some advice I wanted to move abroad for further studies but since I'll be technically alone not knowing anyone in the area in country with a totally diffrent culture then mine i decided to get a puppy or maybe adopt a year or 2 old golden retriever i will most likely be living with 2 roommates in an apartment maybe But is it a good idea ?? I love the idea of getting a dog but I'd hate to deteriorate the doggos health due to my selfishness but i still am more than ready to spend extra time and energy to see to my goldies wellbeing and really want the pup (PS.nothing is final it may actually be about a year or more till i move i just want to make plans ahead in the future so i dont panick and mess up when it's time to make the decision)

If it’s your first time buying a dog, I recommend starting with a Golden. Should be a no brainer but unfortunately, I started with a Pitbull. While I love my Pitbull to death, you must understand the amount of energy they have is mind boggling. If you live a sedentary lifestyle then a Pitbull is not for you. I love both my Golden & Pitbull and they coexist just fine considering they are the opposite sex

If you are psychopath and would like to kill people and smaller pets for pleasure, choose a pit. You can even treat him right in from of people, make them pet it, and let the thing do its job later. A lot of people will say it was an exception to the rule because you did him so right and get away with it. But be careful, there are states where pit owners faced consequences. Look it up before you decide. Good luck!

Who the hell wants to take a chance that the family dog will rip their kids' (or their own) face off. Zero chance with a golden retriever. I had a golden retriever when I was a kid, and she was actually a pretty nasty dog, she bit both me and my brother (we still loved and kept her), it hurt, and I still have a tiny scar on my arm. And she was the worst of the worst golden, but comparing a nasty golden to a nasty pitbull is like comparing an airsoft gun to an AK-47.
