They should now change their policy to put all cops on the DNA data base. They could of caught this guy a long time ago. I wouldn’t be surprise if cops get red flag on the DNA data system.

I wonder if this is the same serial killer that killed many women in Hawaii in the 80's? I remember , Witnesses said he was a caucasan cop from the mainland. It really scared me when I was a kid and worrying about my Mom catching bus. One woman was abducted and killed not to far from where she worked in Honolulu. I hope they investigate further in this if he stayed in Hawaii for a bit.
@@awa2170 they used dna to confirm. It isn’t like they just used the genealogy site link as evidence and then moved on. Before arresting him, they got a sample of his DNA and matched it with that found in his crime scenes. It matched. I believe it was a candy bar wrapper or sm.
Serial killers keep souvenirs and spend a lot of time reliving their crimes . If they bury their victims they often visit the grave sites , if they can . ( at least that is what I see on television .)

Few years ago, congress made it official and requested every dna that are found at crime scene or rape case be stored for further investigation and also must be shared with every state as well
They probably were able to find dna off of a material that had been used and then tested it before running it through a data base of all gov employees and all criminals, then he was seen as a matvh
Thank god for the person/s who discovered DNA testing. I may live across the other side of the world, but boy do I feel for all those affected. There are no words for this type of evil, suffice it to say that I do hope the victims can draw some comfort from his capture.

My wife and i just saw this on tv not that long ago. It was a show about the golden state killer. We both kept thinking it had to be someone in law enforcement just because of what they knew about him. Clean cut, muscular build he had to had been fit is what they said. WOW!!! Still shocked!

Police officers should submit their fingerprints, DNA samples & 6 drug screening per year as a requirement for Employment. Obviously, police officers commit crimes & hide behind their badges. I don't know why people are so trusting of police officers at all. Every officer should be randomly audited in a detailed manner by an independent specialized organization. Body cameras should be mandatory, and police officers who receive complaints should be heavily scrutinized.

He hasn’t for years and years, not since ‘86. He is one of the only killers to suddenly stop like that, really strange. The leading theory was actually that he died, because serial killers just don’t stop like that.

I watched an ID show about this guy and I was really hoping that they'd get him. I'm glad that they found him before he died. He destroyed so many lives and deserved the ultimate punishment. How can you be a police officer and do things like this? Just completely insane.
