Hey Ted, I don’t know what compelled you to make these level guides for GoldenEye all these years later, but man I appreciate it. I’m in college and the only console I have is my N64, so when I do have time to play your videos help a ton, thank you sir!
The biggest tip is to remember that Jaws can't shoot while on stairs and he basically can't shoot diagonally, so the stairs near him are his kill zone. You can lure him to the glass door to limit the number of spawning guards but personally I think you're better off going for the easy Jaws kill and then just dashing through the level as fast as you possibly can. Up until you kill Jaws you can take the level slow, but after Jaws dies you need to get things done and move as quickly as possible. The faster you dash through the level and finish the final objectives the fewer post-Jaws guards you need to deal with. Also the very start bit, crouch so you can kill those first three guards easier.
I don't think I've ever commented on a RU-vid video before but felt compelled to do so and say a big thank you for these videos. Like many on here, I got this in 1997 (with the gold N64 controller) and as a kid only ever managed to complete it on SA after spending hours on each level. I found your guides after rediscovering this on Xbox and have finally managed complete this game on 00 Agent, 25 years on! It's nice to have someone that has done guides for us "normies" that takes you through the levels in a "normal" way without some insane speed running strategy. For me Aztec 00 Agent is easily the hardest level and managing to keep more than half of your life in the first 3 rooms seems like a big achievement. I died twice right at the end on the way up the ladder to trigger the console for the final time so started going up it backwards to enable me to shoot anyone that turns up. I recently got the Invincibility cheat on Facility and even that took less trys than just completing this on 00. The only other level for me that comes close is Caverns 00 just as its long and it can all go wrong in the radio room. Train is also hard but quite straight forward if you manage to get through the 1st two rooms relatively unscathed. Thank again for your efforts.
Thank you so much for this, Ted. Beat the game back in July for the first time (on hardware) and your videos have been instrumental with helping me unlock everything and 100% the game, especially Aztec and Egyptian. All of the props and respect to you. Thanks again. ❤
Here I am, after Control and Caverns. Also, I’m glad you didn’t go for the major shortcut, because I’m here to truly learn how to beat this level… taking out damn Jaws and dual AR 33’s… unreal.
@@MrTedMcForehead I got it, Ted! Definitely did help, especially running across the big room before taking out those laser shooters behind those boxes (yeah, their accuracy is insane). Had some pretty funny fights with Jaws lol just running around those staircases. I took him out with the laser to save some ammo. I didn’t even get hit in the beginning, I was using the crouch and managed to not get hit (of course I had to restart some in a row once in a while) I had my full health and half of the body armor when getting to the glass, and for the first time ever, there were four people to the right.. crazy. I closed the glass and shot them through there, but I also made a double tap mistake, so it opened as two people lit me up like 5 hits in a row 😭 I had ZERO health left. I didn’t think I was going to make it after all that effort and play… but no, I didn’t get hit in the final room! Was shocked. It’s like they used so many enemies in that glass room, plus a couple more were firing lasers behind me.. so I didn’t have to deal with anybody as the rocket launched. It was such a relief!
I just came across your page and it made me plug my N64 back up. I’ve only played through Agent, but your vids are great. I wish you had more vids about Goldeneye like secrets etc. Great content!
I always lure Jaws back to the server room before killing him in order to minimize the time that the infinite guards will spawn. He suffers from the same blindness that the guards in that hallway do, so you open the mainframe gate like you do at 8:45, then you just wait behind the computer for him. Headshot him with the AR as he's running down the hallway towards you and then he dies pretty much right next to the glass door. Really minimizes the amount of trouble the guards give you 👍
@@StephenAytonIt's best to stand next to the computer but behind the traingular wall so you can see Jaws coming down the hallway after you and shoot him as he runs. The player in this video is standing just to the right of the good spot at 2:46. If you kill Jaws and do the rest of the level very quickly you may never see the guards with Moonraker lasers.
Thank you. This is a really good guide. I can’t quite get it yet but I am confident this method will pay off eventually. This is the best goldeneye guide channel I’ve come across.
I just completed my first 00A playthrough on the N64 thanks in no small part to your videos. I had only completed it on Agent as a kid, but now I feel like a pro at this game. Thank you Ted!
Nice work sir. Thanks for all of your help with these. I struggled on 00 agent and got a few done but now with your help I’m killing it and my 7 and 9 year old love watching me play. Cheers sir!
I think SIlo mission is when i went insane. But then the Stealth mission happend. GoldenEye is a amazing game, but i would be lying if the difficulty didnt drive me insane. But you do feel like The Man when you beat it, so it must be doing something right there
THANK YOU. Because of this tutorial I was able to beat this stage on 00 Agent. I also used your tutorial for Egyptian and beat that in enough time to unlock All Guns.
This level took me around 5 hours of continous work before I could beat it. Thought I had it one run and was at the top of the ladder, waiting for the shuttle to go off, not realizing I had to actually interact with the mainframe after using the item to initate it. Hoo boy that sucked! This guide helped me a ton along the way thank you
Got a modded 360 recently and I've been playing the unreleased goldeneye remaster, because I only ever got to play the multiplayer at friends' places as a kid. Struggled with a couple of levels on the way, and your vids got me through, very much appreciated. 👍
I’ve now beaten Aztec, and all I need are all the 00 agent levels to get Egyptian. I used your vids for secret agent to get Aztec, almost all the levels like caverns, jungle, control, and archives, have been beaten with your help. Thanks for your walkthroughs!
Recently bought it for the switch. Always loved the game but its been a while. . Did the level on my second run. Cant believe it! Thank you for hints. Love your content! Really helped me on control, Caverns and aztec 00A!
I think that came about from one of the two level designers adding walk-thru vents in the Complex multiplayer map so that he could surprise and beat his coworkers when they were play-testing the multiplayer. I think this level and Control are the only two singleplayer levels that have walk through vents.
Thanks for all your help man. I had more issues with control than Aztec but I've now finally completed it all in 00 agent. Those 1st 3 guys are a real pain
Yeah I had more trouble with control as well. I find it to be more skill testing than other levels. In Aztec if you can get through the first part it’s not too terrible afterwards. Just be patient and execute. Personally for me control, train, caverns and Aztec probably the toughest 😊
This video was so perfect. I managed to survive Control with luck, but this just wasn’t happening. Everyone does so much damage, and of course I could not get the glass door trick to work like when I first learned about it as a teenager. Thank you, clearing out the DAT room from behind the glass was a huge help. No one even came around the corner as I was waiting for the countdown. After Egyptian 00 Agent, I’m 100% finished with the difficulty. 😮💨
Did this for the first time right now. I failed my 1st attempt on 00 agent because I couldn’t get past the dude with the double assault rifles. This guide helped me
Amazing to watch, can't wait to try that on Jaws. He always seems to turn round super quick when I try shooting him in the head though. Will try the laser!
Thanks for this now i have tips to do this game. Im 32 when i was young i lend my game to my cousin, he lend it to one of is friend. Two weeks lather i get my game back an everything was unlocked, cheat, level everything. Now im doing the game from start and man i fell in love with it the right way this time.
I did it....I passed Goldeneye on 00 Agent. I never did it as a kid and it feels amazing to have conquered this game. Thank you for your help. Used all of your videos to get me there!
You my dude are the most entertaining game walk-through guy on RU-vid haha you had me laugh out loud half 2 in the morning from my bed ,such a great walk-through the best 👌can't wait to brag to all my mates that I beat aztec and unlocked pyramid thanks geeza !!
11:10 "No one is going to kill you when you do this". - Unless you're me and somehow miss while spamming dual lasers. Got it (Aztec 00 Agent) second go though. Guide was super useful. Knocked over most missions as a kid but just replayed the game on Xbox and your advice helped me defeat Aztec on 00 Agent which I never did 25 years prior on the N64, as well as generally being fine strategies for unlocking a good number of the speed run cheat codes such as a safe and low risk Caverns strategy where I followed the same path and could finish with a good 50 seconds to spare still. Won't break any world records with some of the runs but your guides on most levels still allowed plenty of time to get unlocks without being reckless. Great series!
Thanks dude, I have just finally unlocked the final level after 26 years on my XBOX XS now im going to get my N64 out and if my Goldeneye cart still works im going to finish it on that :)
By far the hardest mission to me outside of Depot, but I also screwed myself so many times. I thought when you programmed the Guidance Data you had to press A, but thankfully I finally saw in your comments that you have to press trigger. I swear I did that too, but never at the modem, always at the computer and I never had the objective listed as complete. Got all the way up to the rocket and I was screwed. Finally accepted Q’s data after seeing that comment and that made all the difference. I also went out of order a few times after killing Jaws and got iced by the yellow guards. It’s all about timing for sure - a lot to think about in the order of events here.
It's dangerous but I liked to lure Jaws to the computer room, so that you can kill him there, immediately open the doors, and get straight back to the shuttle room in the shortest time possible before the unlimited guards get you
First you wanna shoot this drone gun… Then you wanna shoot this guy in the fuckin’ head. Can’t stop giggling at that! After all the chillness this bit of random aggression pops out! Love it.
This stage was a hell of a lot harder than Egyptian. The real challenge in Egyptian is pretty much to figure out the floor puzzle in the Golden Gun room, which is certainly challenging the first time, but then it becomes trivial.
@Ted McForehead I'm not sure if it's because I'm playing the gamepass version but a few things that have happened were guards blowing up the console to open the door to get back to the hanger, there always seemed to be another guard right next the guard you kill before jaws which always triggered jaws to chase me right away, I had the key card jaws drops glitch out the map, I've had the launch data not trigger properly, and a lot of times that opening room would just make me restart as those guys may eat 6 bullets and not die. Glad it's over though 😅
Still stuck on this level. But my strat for the first room is to run full speed straight ahead between the two pillars. None of them can hit you without moving first. Then circle around and shoot the single dude. Plenty of time to peek the last two guys, and usually their eagerness to throw a grenade kills one if not both of them.
Thanks for these videos. We bought N64 from a class mate in 2002 or 2003. It came with Goldeneye (of course) and i could never manage to unlock Aztek or Egyptian. Until now, i got excited to play it again. I completed every level with 00 agent 😀 I played with emulator since my crt tv broke after not being used in like 10 years. And my current tv has so bad input lag with N64 that it’s unplayable with it. Now i’ll need to source an old crt tv so i can play the game through with original N64 😅
oh man, it's worth it to play the original. no emulator, regular console and n64 controller. i watch guys on pc emulators just destroying this game like it's nothing and it irks me because they dont know how much harder it is playing with original software and hardware!
@@MrTedMcForehead Oh yeah it definetely is worth playing with the original console! I just rebuilt my controller joystick, the original was so loose like almost all originals are. So now i need to find "new" crt tv so i can enjoy the real deal :D
There is away to avoid damage at the beginning. Crouch down, move really slowly. Its about the angle so no guard can see u. Aim left where there is the 2 guards. Take him out quickly, reload quick stay where you are and take out the last 2. Sometimes its eaiser while ones hurt, shoot the other one. The guys on the left seem to throw genades but you hopefully should be fine by doing this and not take any damage. Hope i explained that well. I havent completed this mission myself yet
Was able to beat it after saving a good amount of health on the first few rooms. I had no guards in the glass room after jaws but they were all in the main room lol very sweaty run to the ladder
I start the level in an alcove, and I cannot even manage to see a guard before the one on the opposite side of the room shoots me. How do you make it so that the first guard-action is the one on the right jumping, as shown in this video?
In the first room try crouching and slowly move out of spawn looking at the duo on the left instead of the solo on the right. Let the right hand guy in the pair see you, then kill him. 50/50 he pulls a nade you can cammadere for later use. Let his buddy see you kill him causing him to stop and aim. Use can back up to use spawn as cover and blast the solo dude from the far right, he usually runs up as your killing the first guy. Then after killing him the third guy is easy. Then collect ammo and hopefully that nade. 90 percent of the time no damage received from the first room. The other 10 is from the first guy I kill deciding to run to the center of the room as his move instead of giving his donation.
Just beat cradle using the strat where u make trevelyn grenade himself and die. Lean against the shed he’s in with ur back against u do it right he throws a grenade and usually stays there and dies. Sometimes he does run off. Sometimes the grenade gets the first drone gun for u sometimes it doesn’t sometimes it gets the computer. Got frustrated I did it 3 times one time I must have ran off the platform and didn’t even know it. The next time I forgot to do objective A jumped on the chopper and failed. Then I got it.
Am I missing something I went to the control area in the enclosed glass space after killing jaws and for some reason I can’t get objective a complete. I managed to launch the rocket but when I looked I failed the mission because even tho i tried to use the floppy disk, the message read something but I dint get the objective complete notification.
Equip the Guidance Data, go up to the little modem looking thing in that room you decribed and press the shoot button on the modern while Guidance Data is equipped. You'll see objective A completed in the bottom corner.
Ted, I managed to lure Jaws all the way back to where the armor is and kill him there. To my suprise, no infinite guards spawned.. I was free to complete the level with no one shooting at me
I finally earned this one. I'm glad the game I have came with two completed games with all cheats/levels because I don't think I have a prayer of unlocked egyptian otherwise. Getting everything on secret agent was hard enough.
How do you get the objectives complete I do it this way everytime an never have the first objective complete so I can’t do the second one even after hitting that door an killing jaws
Anyone have an issue with the protocol data? I uploaded it and the timer never came on, waited at the top of the ladder for 5 minutes shooting the laser and finally died. Alright here goes try number 1000 lol. You got lucky with jaws here I need to corner him like this to save health
Idk why but when I was a kid & my mom would play or watch my brother & sister’s husband play she’d call the guards guys 😂😂😂 I thought she was the only one who did that as a one of her weird quirks & now when I’m older playing it I remembered that & to myself I’m like ‘guys? That’s kinda messed up? Like it sounds sexist?’ 🤔🤦🏻♀️ But now I’m hearing other people online say it like it’s normal & I’m like dying laughing. 😂😂😂😂 nostalgia comes in many forms 🤣
I’m not understand why after I kill jaws and go to the computer room keeps telling me the guidance data is still contacted to the computer or something and won’t download anything
1st of all, great guides! I'm experiencing some sort of issue with objective A. Whenever I use the guidance data on the computer, the objective isn't marked as complete (playing Xbox remaster).
I'm always sad that you have to kill Jaws in this level. In The Spy Who Loved Me he was an intimidating menace. But in Moonraker (this level's inspiration) he has a sympathetic heel-face turn and briefly teams up with Bond before helping him escape the exploding space station... and he even has a love story. A man of VERY few words with a simple yet effective story arc - not just a dumb mook. I love Jaws - and I really wish you didn't have to kill the guy to finish the level.
You don't have to kill him to finish the level. You can trick a guard to open the glass in the black room early which bypasses the smart card and allows you to finish the mission early without even seeing jaws.
No matter what, when I kill that guard next to jaws another runs in immediately and it also alerts jaws. No matter how stealthily I kill that first guard
Single tapping in scope with virtually anything means the weapon acts as silenced, the enemies dont hear it. That being said for this guy it shouldn't matter. He has good eyes, he will see you when you see him. You can watch him and his reaction as you creep toward him to know when/if he see's you which he will. When he see's you run back to the top of the stairs where you came in and wait a minute. He will have tried to look for you and will be standing near where he spotted you.
On the new Xbox release, using the guidance data does nothing... I can't believe I got to that part without taking a single hit twice and I get killed each time trying to access my inventory, hoping that it will work... So frustrating.
@@MrTedMcForehead oh my god... I was pressing the equivalent of the A button (ie. open door)... Man, you made it all too easy, I could never be bothered to go through the trial and error of understanding what to do in this game. Today, I finally beat this game in 00 Agent thanks to you, 25 years later ^-^. Turns out, this game is rather easy if you know what to do. Onto finishing Aztec now!!! Thanks for the tip!
