I remember when Perfect Ace became Goldeneye champ again and his eyes turned gold and he said he was going to goldeneye all over us. One of the greatest moments in video game history.

Loved Goldeneye as a kid, still play it quite poorly at this point, and these videos make me feel like I’m part of the community. I’m guessing you guys that grind these games are like band mates who have a common interest but make great friends in the process.
It's true. Maybe more like musicians in different bands, who sometimes collaborate, other times have rivalries, but generally all have some level of mutual respect.

Just think how dominant Ace has been in Perfect Dark and Goldeneye to get records in ILs and full game runs over the span of 15 years. He was a little kid getting records back in the mid 2000s

Goose! I have a question about cheat runs. I know you can activate cheats in game with button inputs. But I don't know if you need the cheat unlock to use it. Do speed runs look into that for legitimate runs? Creating unseen lag and such?
A few years ago, I tried to argue (mostly as a joke) that we should allow the "push button cheat codes" for legitimate speedruns. My argument was that, "well, it's a natural part of the game, and the time *does* save as a new "Best Time" if you beat a level after having put in a push-button cheat." Of course, no one else bought into this argument. 😂
Finally hooked up my series x and downloaded GE. I haven’t played it in close to 20 years. Been practicing speed running it and managed to get all the target times! Just unlocked Aztec. Need to do 00 Agent still. I feel though it runs way faster on series x vs n64 as like in train I can’t do the watch method for kills cause it just drains so fast and I run out of watch ammo. Frame rate is definitely smoother (all from old memory/watching the lores over the years.) someday I’ll get. N64/CRT setup to speed run cause oh… I can’t do r-leans. When I aim and move left or right on the d-pad I just continue strafing, super weird.
To add on (watching the control bit) when the glass breaks during the protect, you have to be stupid quick on Xbox it feels cause nat dies super quick from everything being faster. I had a bitch of a time on agent and manages to first try the protect on secret agent. Yea you definitely have to react quicker I think on xbox
Perfect Ace getting only a 1:16 on Streets, and Marc Rützou a 1:15, in the RTA runs, shows how insane Ryan Lockwood skipping 1:13 nd going from 1:14 to 1:12 really was back in the day, even if it was an individual level run for him.
Question: on frigate at the end waiting for the hostage, is it possible to hold r trigger (to aim) and when objective clears do the left c sidestep to exit quicker?

I would imagine most of us have the game burned into our memories so looking up isn't really needed but also looking down raises the framerate and allows for better times.
