The best part of Goldeneye MP was always the "awards" you'd get at the end, like Mostly Harmless, Most Frantic or "Where's the Armor"? Such a fun game with a sense of humor, plus slappers only on turbo mode was peak silliness

GoldenEye is meant to be played on License to Kill, it's one of the most fun FPS games ever even today when played on that mode.

The thing is that we can't spend all our time learning the detailed history of EVERY country. How many countries aside from the US teach about the Battle of Fort Sumter? That was a pivotal point in US history and an important piece of military history in general, but it's only taught in American schools. The fact of the matter is that, if we were to try to teach about all the major events in all the other countries, we'd be spending twice as long at school and would have to get rid of every class other than history. The US is no different from other nations in how we teach history, but people like to bash on Americans for not knowing their history without realizing how completely entitled that is.

Idc what anyone says this game was fun as hell to me. It's graphics aren't all that but I played this with my friends when I was little and we had all the cheats unlocked. All weapons, golden gun, paintball mode, fast mode, and tons of other modes. God we had so much fun with this game and we were so pro. Idk why they played this game the most unfun way. This game is so much fun XD

For the record, Arin was referring to the Parsi, who weren't actually a race but more like a group of Persians who fled Persia after it was conquered by the Arabs and converted to Islam. I played this game for the first time when I was 6. It was my favorite game and was the thing that got me into FPS games and video games in general. Mad respect to Golden Eye 007 💋 the sounds gave me mass nostalgia and the graphics are horrible but bring me such joy!

AVGN would be proud. Also "slurpin up with your pinkie up" had me dead on the ground laughing.

Jon's delivery on "Sir Back-and-Forth" is amazing, it always makes me laugh.

I love this game back then and I still play it today. This game is one of the most revolutionary games out there and I love playing the old classics, it's like I'm playing history.

Goldeneye (like most 64 games) didn't age well.

Holy shit. I've seen some hilarious Grumps, but this shit here takes the cake. I hadn't realized how long it had been since I laughed uncontrollably till I almost blacked out or smiled that wide. My fucking face hurts.

As much as I love Goldeneye 007, it is true that the game hasn't aged well at all. The controls are kind of shit now and the AI isn't the best by a long shot, The single player is pretty much the only reason to come back to it now with the multiplayer being made almost completely obsolete thanks to Perfect Dark and Timesplitters. Not saying the game suddenly turned to shit due to bad aging of course, it can still be fun to play and still has a certain charm to it even now. It's just that PD and TS 2 & 3 pretty much blew it out of the water for me in pretty much every way. And of course Perfect Dark itself hasn't aged the best. The controls are still arse and the game was was just a bit too much for the N64, even with the Expansion Pak which led to a pretty janky framerate, and could get really bad in multiplayer with 4 players and a ton of sims. Beyond this though it's a pretty damn near perfect game, and was incredibly far ahead for it's time at least for console shooters. And the really sad thing is that in more than a few ways it still is, what with modern fps's only feeling more dumbed down and regressed over time, especially when it comes to the single player campaigns. This only felt more apparent than ever when 4J Studios released a HD port of PD on XBLA which removed the aging problems I had with the N64 version and added online play as well as a few other minor new features that helped to freshen things uo without tampering with the experience. Not to mention the game almost always runs at a smooth 60fps. Also the attention to detail is stunning, but that goes for the N64 version and to extent GE64 too. In all honesty there hasn't been a console FPS that captivated me in quite the same way that GE and PD did, at least not until Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect (which are spiritual sequels to GE and PD and to their credit have aged marvelously., I also never played the original TS so I have no opinion on that one) I just find it really sad that FPS's like these games just stopped being made all of a sudden sometime after Halo started becoming a big thing. I just don't know why this style of FPS's died out, because even today it feels damn better to play than the shooters we have nowadays. This is all entirely in my own opinion of course.Not trying to force my views on anybody or anything, I'm just stating what I think is all.

Seriously this game has not aged well, it is the only N64 Rareware game that I don't completely enjoy.

I completely agree with Jontron here. Schools, at least in my area, over educate about the holocaust and never teach about a single other genocide. Not a single one. I think in geography we read a brief article over Rwanda but I feel my lack of education in the subject at times like these. I didn't know about any of the genocides the mentioned in the video at all.

Everyone is talking shit about this game and then I figured out it's because you all are little kids that come from halo or call of duty. You don't understand how epic this was. You don't understand every good first person shooter being on the PC and any port made to console being so bad. Then this dropped and like dude... where do I begin? Split screen 4 ways, like do u even understand how epic that was when friends came over? Like you know before playstation network and xbox live? When you had to call "no screen peep". It doesn't look to me that Arin is using the c buttons to strafe. You can tell Jon was using them because it looks like the more natural movement you'd see in modern shooters utilizing KB/M or dual-analog controls. Arin was at a huge disadvantage because of using what were essentially tank controls, but you casn't blame him the N64 controller layout was pretty shit from the beginning. The c buttons could be whatever tf, items in Zelda, camera in Mario, and movement in Goldeneye. If they were playing with a more modern control scheme, Jon would have had to work a bit harder for his kills. Also, the AVGN parody had me in stitches.
