Just changed the game for drum n bass this track...I've never had the chance to drop it at all. Next party I'm at, it will be the first tune on the decks!
I cant even describe how much I love, adore and enjoy this Album. In my opinion (for my taste) it is the greatest Album EVER produced by anyone. It beams me right back into the years of 96 thru 99 - in which I had this Album on repeat. My first Love, my first break up, the last years of school, my slow transition from listening to techno/trance to Drum & Bass, Ambient and more experimental stuff like Future Sound of London (Lifeforms) or Aphex Twin. The sound programming and the incredible work on the arrangements - everything is perfect. Tracks like Timeless, Kemistry, Sensual or Sea of Tears immidiately do something to my endorphins and my body and brain remembers how I felt, how things smelled, how I walked thru Berlin with headphones on thinking... how the sun felt, the mornings, the summertime nights with birds singing.......its incredible and something very different I hardly ever experience concerning Music.
Thanks for posting this masterpiece. Loving Goldie and other electronic British artists like Leftfield, Underworld, The Prodigy, Massive Attack, Faithless, Four Tet, Aphex Twin, Tricky, Unkle, Roni Size, The Streets, Orbital, Burial, Krust, Forest Swords, Allflaws
top fucking tune I'm 45 and still loving this, they don't drop tunes like this today, and who ever gives thumbs down are knobs, know your drum and bass, dj climax 😎 😎 😎
Was my fav too. I’m now 44 still remember listening too this as a teen and still do ❤❤❤❤❤ Timeless ❤❤❤Pass it on to your kids am sure you will have in this 9yrs❤❤❤ it’s a piece of history 😊😊
I remember this was on MTV, the single version of inner city life... I watched it in the morning at like 08:00am before going to university... i loved it..the video....the sounds.. the vocals...the long lines...the melody ....the dropping grocery cart...the works...and i still love it. So hard yet so beautiful and melodic... i was late that day... Pure love this song. when people say they miss that era, i can relate but i wonder do we miss that era, or the way we were touched by something new?
Inner city life, pressure, jah. Nuff said. And then the whole album, which is a masterpiece. Next dnb album that achieved that status was New Forms.. Those two.. are ageless music.
One of the best tunes ever. Thanks for all the LSD/ X and thc rides it gave to me. Now im an serius corporation worker, but still love to put this tune on, and get back to the best times of music, and my life.
This brings me back to the days when raves were illegal and we would have to go to a phone booth dial number to get another link for where the rave was at!! Great time to be alive!!!
Perfection is an unachievable concept since optimization, discovery, evolution, and ephemeralization are never ending but this album comes close to the physical manifestation of it.
Rest In Power,... Such beauty, balance, and raw perfection... Crisp, clean... Ruff in the jungle BIZNESS!!!!!! Love sent to heaven in your name, Diane Charlemagne.....
I used to think that this music was boring and had no substance when I was younger, I was so wrong and am angry at myself for not liking it back then. This music is fantastic!
I was just a kid... I was 13. We didnt have anything like this kind of music in Israel, but i caught Inner City Life radio version on MTV's Chill Out Zone at 2 AM one night. I went to Tower Records with my mom and bought this album. It was winter. I took a shower, came out and pressed play. I had a green-blue bulb as light at my room at the time... I laid on my bed and listened...
I've discovered Goldie here in Brazil in 1997, and still this sound/album is for me a new type of sound language: is a spiritual expertence. A classic! and I remember my adolecent in skate roller! impossible listen a better sound in a pandemic moment. sound for mediration!
25 years ago today, the infamous album, Timeless was released...I thought this was the future-i was literally blown away, I was 20 years old, in the midst of uni life..an album that got me thru many ups + downs + challenges in life..I owe so much to Goldie for this! 💯🖤🙏🏽 #GoodTimes + #Timeless..🖤🙏🏽
MemoryLaneCinema I think he’s talking about Goldie. No one could say this was Rob Playford’s best he made too much great music! Goldie too but for me no one is less appreciated and more under rated than Rob Playford period!
I don't think ANY Drum & Bass Album afterwards managed to top this....in my opinion this is the greatest Album of all time. But it has a special meaning to me so I'm hyperbiased.
Damn this album is like a father to me. It was released 19 years ago, it is old as me as I am 95 born, so were young and were not too old. Listening back to the times of Jungle and D&B during rave era period. I heard some of the tracks in Timeless were strong in the 95's played in many memories all over the places in rave locations. Man this album is way out of this dimension or frequency. Divine and bliss. It's like "Spiritual drum & bass". I opened my chakras, infinite awareness to the mind I acknowledged 'higher conciousness' spoke to me whilst listening to this meditated track. Timeless, shapeless, formless and infinite.....------->
I'm glad you are enjoying it at the same kind of age I was, hmm... 15 yr old when it came out. My fave to this day seems to be Kemistry. I do not know why, but it dominated the album for me.
@@MemoryLaneCinema Where are the great Rob Playford singles and LPs proving that he's a great arranger AND a great composer? Yes, we must give credit where it's due, but the debate over "who made Timeless" has frankly become an utter waste of time.
Lorna Harris sang lead in 51, shows form 1996 to 1997 as Lead vocalist for Goldie a mate from back in the Day and beyond till the end as support act to Bjork what I ride I know. I'm Lorna Harris
This was 1 of the first albums i bought as a kid back when the album first came out, and today i think it 1 of the best albums ever made, Big respect to Goldie!
....this album 'turned me'...didn't give 'Jungle' house room until I heard this. Totally blew me away, and I found unexpected respect for Goldie as a result. Seminal Album without a doubt...'Timeless' is just that, fresh even in 2013.
Henrique Ramos it's on the book "1001 albums you need to hear before you die". That's where i found this albums and many others,i highly recommend it if you're looking into more music like this and many others.
as a 16 year old today i cant help but feel hypercritical. i wish i was born earlier so this could have been coming out when i was this age, but anything new just isnt like this. apart from some wonderful jazz musicians like Moses Boyd and Yuseff Dayes, i feel like i want the new of the 80s and 90s, not the new of now. i cant really explain it. how can i view myself as so forward thinking when all i listen to and watch is from the past?
Goldie once said: "I have made the best drum and bass album off all time…" He was right, and it is impressive that he didn't produce it, he only told how it should sound.
by far my favorite drum and bass producer / dj i love his jungle music this is my favorite goldie album of all time i had the double cd back when it came out i bought it at tower records when they were around big up goldie one of my favorite producer
I'm afraid to say I turned 60 this year, yea fuckin 60! But I still look on this as one of my favourite albums of all time, how sad is this, fuckit I don't care, good music is good music.
@@AlexAlcyone hella true, there's so many people that go into an album. but in the end, the main artist(s) go on the front. I don't think anyone ignores rob's efforts here, luckily. goldie's a visionary not a musician, so it works out in the end. i'd have him score a film for me if i could.
Goldie saved my life quite a few times living in a tower block so glad they pulled that shit down merton house good times were had but lots of bad times
